Best ~> I have a couple of the same kind. Donated (for the only time) in April and got the letter. I jumped on a guys offer in another person's thread, the offer was 1k, scar, and angelic collar. That was when the letters were worth 3k. I got yelled at by Ziggy razz Traded my pendant for 3 Mays, 2k and a scar. And a july for horns on the next night.

Bad/worst ~> Buying a Jack Shirt for 152k when that was the min price and the next day it was the max gonk Upgrading an emo bag, 1k and a paper bag for a Jan to Mythic. Damn him gonk

best - Bought my angelic minis for both headbands and 4k in november 3nodding

worst - I had 5 october letters in october 5. Unfortunately I was still somewhat new to the donation business... By the end of november, I sold 3, each for no more than 8k gonk [the fourth I used to get me one of the headbands, in a combination with 5k or something gonk ]
AND
sold my DJs in march................... selling them in general was a bad idea. [about two days later, the price jumped another 300k] gonk At least I sold them to a nice person I sort of knew.... and was able to get back all the things I had sold for them [sash, fairy wings, angelic minis xd , 100k, etc..]

one of my worst exchange stories is that i wasn't on gaia for the whole month of september 2003 and not earlier. i know gaia since its beginning in february 03, really. my first visit on gaia was terrible and just boring. at the first time i came here, there wasn't even a real forum and almost nothing to do here. gaia wasn't something special for me, so i left it alone. after my first visit i was redirected to gaia many times from other cool websites. and then, many months later, gaia was grown up alot and became something special in my eyes, so it was worth to register an account there. so, i started my gaia account in august 03, but was only online for about one week and went off until the beginning of october (due to school issues and events). when i came back i saw that the donation letter items for august were headphones. i immediately fell in love with the portables, but due to the fact that i was only on gaia for one week, i was poor like hell and wasn't able to buy them. they were worth about 10k or maybe more. whatever, i was just happy when i reached the 1k mark and so i started to check out gaia's economy nature and when i had a complete view how it works, they were worth even more and my dream of having them sometime was smashed down even more. today i wish i could be able to turn back the hands of time to february 2003 and then i would play gaia from its beginning and also through september to be able to gain some gold and so i probably would be able to buy them when they were cheap. i totally missed my chance to get them and today, i gave up my dream to get them someday. they're worth more than i would get when selling my whole inventory. my nature is not to beg for anything, so i wouldn't be able to start a quest and to hope for generous donations. the fact that i can't beg for anything decreases my chances to get them someday even more and are like zero. everytime i'm creating a new style for my avi i wish i would have them. but because i haven't seen the real potential behind gaia when i came here the very first time, it's my fault that i don't and will never have them...rest in peace portable stereo headphones. crying

Best: Bought most of the Donation Letters at a Price of 2.5k each month whee

Worst: Bought NM Minis in November for 25k and then 2 weeks sold it for 40k (i should've kept it). Also in Nov. I got 3 October Letters. I ripped two open and gave one to my sis. I should've downgraded it stressed

Best: I bought my Angelic Headband for about 10k a month or 2 ago

Worst: Well... it wasnt really an investment, but the first day or so that the Blue Giftboxes were released, they were worth about 20k, and i saw one in the vending for 2k under "buy me", and as i go to buy it, instead of pressing enter, i had pressed refresh and by the time i went back, it was gone

so yeah, im newer to gaia lol, i didnt have many runins with 2003 donations letters/items and such lol

I know how that feels. About a week after joining, I found the Bunny slippers and loved them to bits. I triedso hard and at the end of Sep they were at 50k [hard to believe now...]. When I finally got to 50k worth in invetory and gold, BAM! They went up to 75k... and.. well you guys know the story of the prices 3nodding gonk
I didn't give up on the slippers until about January when I realized... yeah right and went over to DJs [ whee ]

My other great investment is my fantastic donation letter buyer. whee

worst v.2 - Sold my nightmare scarf in February or January for about 12k. ................................ Heh......... I kinda miss it..

I can't really think of any good finicial investments... sweatdrop
But I definatly know my worst is when I sold my Angelic Scarf for 2K not knowing any better... sad
