I totally love Jigsaw!! whee I'm sure the payoffs will go down in a bit, but I love to build jigsaw puzzles so I'll play anyway! I've already done all of them on Hard setting--you get over 100 gold each time for that...once I got over 200! My Mule played on the easy setting today & made around 40 gold average & took about 5 minutes for each one, so that was pretty good returns. And he got the #3 Wall Picture! xd

Here, fishy, fishy, fishy.... nice fishy...
I'm leaving all the fishing duties to Pax (my other self aka mule). She's doing a great job hauling in seedkins and trout, and occasionally a tuna or two, at Gambino.
Have learned a few hints from the regulars there. First, the Grade F bait seems to degrade quickly, causing you to catch more trash after a while. Best approach so far has been to buy 4 F and 2 D baits and start fishing, using 2 F, then a D, and continuing to alternate my baits. Next, certain fish come out at certain times... or so they say. I haven't really noticed that. And, last, find a room which the regulars seem to frequent. For me, that would be the 21+ rooms. These are there for people who want to be friendly and to fish. Most are 21 yrs old or over, but we've had some younger folks join us who have been great! The rooms are labeled 21+ to try and discourage the brats (both young and old) from disrupting things with foul language and immature behavior. In other words, everyone here would definitely be welcomed in these words.
I also enjoy shaking down the towns (not as much lately with them being in perpetual black-out lately) and WordBump (have gotten as high as level 72 but haven't been there recently). Planning on giving the Jigsaw a try this weekend.

I've not done much since the old ones. I fished a lot in the past and made some good friends doing that. I didn't like the casino much......
The word game is ok but I just didn't do many of the games anymore once it came around.

I won 574 gold on the Insane puzzle in Jigsaw! And you won't believe how!!
I caught a convo between a couple of players in one of the rooms about solving the puzzles. To "beat" the puzzles (or solve them almost effortlessly and quickly), here's what they did...
Stack all the pieces one on top of another, forming one "single" piece. Then slowly slide the top piece either up, down or side to side, just above, below, or next to the next piece, and then click. The adjoining piece and eventually pieces will connect to it, but you must click in between each piece. I was able to get some large portions of the puzzle completed in just a few minutes! eek xd

Well, it wouldn't be INSANE if you could solve it so rapidly & easily, now would it? Have you tried the Grunny puzzle? Woo, that one's a mess! gonk I did it on Hard this morning though. I can rack up a thousand or so from playing Hard puzzles in 1 session & get 2 or 3 Items too. You need to remember to do something to keep your connection to Gaia open every now & then though so they won't turn you off for inactivity. In between puzzles I click on a different page to show I'm still active.

Can't say I like the fishing much, but I love jigsaws and word games, so those two are nice. Unfortunately, niether of them seem to want to work properly for me. Like the Word Bump refuses to load the next level sometimes, and the Jigsaw likes to disconnect me or stall on saving. So, I've nearly given up on playing either of them.
I do play Blackjack pretty often though, since that one saves automatically. That way, if I get disconnected or something goes awry, I can simply close out and rejoin.
Oh, and as for scavenging in Towns, I can't seem to get anything to save. The gold saves, but nothing else that I pick up or catch saves. Sooooo, I don't really bother with it so much anymore.

The stuff you get in Towns goes into your backpack, not your inventory. Note the (now very tiny) backpack icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on that & the backpack will open (sometimes takes a little time). You can see all the things you've collected gathered & sorted there--& all the stuff you've been collecting will in fact still be there from one Towns trip to the next, so it should all still be there. The robot at the bottom of the item list will save your stuff. Click on his head & he'll ask if you want the items sent to your inventory. When you say yes, he does it & then it will be with all your other items in My Stuff. They've been changing the Towns user interface a lot since I joined in May. They may change it more as time passes. Are you using Firefox? Towns, the games, and the Profile editor all work better with Firefox. At the moment though, Firefox seems to have issues with the Homes Editor. That's about the only drawback to Firefox for Gaia right now, though. And you can get a Gaia Toolbar at TekTek just for Firefox that's loaded with useful links.

A tiny backpack!? It's like they don't want you to know about it. I'll look for that next time I boot up Towns. Thanks.
And yeah, I guess I'll reinstall Firefox. I didn't really like it before, but since I've updated to IE7 (Which feels very awkward for me to use) I may as well just use two browsers. Well, I don't really use the Homes Editor much, seeing as how almost all of the "vacant" lots are bugged right now, so I guess I could just rename Firefox to Gaiafox and use that to log in from now on. cool

They're getting better about opening new map areas. They've done it 3 times this year. I'll take our mule in to scout for new land now & then--you can't see the vacancy signs if you have already placed a home in Towns. If I see any I'll post it here--but you'll have to leap in fast when you get the word!

lol Kay. I'll try and be quick on the draw. I do a random check atleast once a day, since I can't be bothered to check every "vacancy". Hopefully I'll get lucky one day and stumble across the real deal!
