I wonder how many people here have gay/lesbian/bisexual parents, or have friends with such, and how they deal with that.

My daughter's best friend has two moms and has since birth. She also has a biological dad she spends weekends with. To my daughter there is nothing unusual about the situation (isn't that great!), because she's known this girl since they were toddlers in preschool together.

Talk about your experiences.

My best friend has a Bi dad, but I think he likes guys more than gals, but is still married coz it's just an easier life for him...

P.S. Do you have permission to make this thread? I think it's a good idea!

In my daughter's friend's case (she is 10 1/2), she's always had two moms and one day I ran into one of them, and got into a conversation with her. I said, "Not to pry, but I've always been curious...how did you end up with your daughter?"

She said her partner was straight...for six weeks, and got pregnant, and the two of them got together soon afterward. They are like the BEST parents I've ever met, and they even adopted a brother and sister (who are 14 and 9). I think it's great how this generation is learning alot about tolerance and understanding.

I don't have that problem, I don't even know anyone that has same sex parents, though I think by the time I have kids they might have two moms, my girlfriend and I want a future together, we even talk about it quite a bit. I want to have kids but my girlfriend doesn't want to bare them so it works out for us, we want to try to get our one of our friends to help us out, we might even consider my gay friend, I mean he'll probably want kids later on and it'd work because he'd have a kid and be friends with the mothers. I dunno, I hope things turn out for the better, we've been going out for a year now, I didn't think we'd last that long but we did and I'm really happy about that lol I'm excited though ^.^

Hrrrm. I'm not sure if having two parents of the same gender would be good for a young child. Naturally we are meant to have a parent of either gender, so that could pose some problems. On the other hand, in a modern society the roles of the male and female are far less rigid than in the 'wild', so on the other hand...

Eh, I'm no scientist. I've got no clue. We need to get some of those boys up in Harvard to take a crack at this one.

O.o I don't have any parents that are like that. But i have a cousin brianna, she has a mother named brenda, and brenda is lesbian. and she loves girls. not guys. so she had sex with a guy just to get a baby.. then dumped the guy and went to a girl. now the girl is brend'a girlfriend and claims the baby. now that brianna is like 7 years old, they keep making her believe that they had her even though their two lesbian women. let me tell you, it can really mess the child's mind up.

OMG! That could really mess someone up... Or not... I guess it depends on the child, but I wouldn't peddle lies just to give my children a temporary false security that they know both biological parents...
