In the past, our director would just say that our concert dresses had to cover the shoulders, go past the knees, and not be horrible low cut. And guys had to wear a standard tuxedo. But he decided he wanted us to be more uniform this year, and is moaking us order it all through him. We're hoping he chooses a dress that's not... hideous. Our drum major says shes going to help him choose. xD
Discuss- Uniformed or not uniformed concert clothes.

I personally like uniformed clothing for Band performances. The Band looks more...proffessional with uniform clothing and its not as stressful to find something? I'm in middle school though, but I think the high school I might go to has non uniform concert clothes. I think both of them have none uniform..
our Band wears a white dressy shirt and a long black skirt, the guys wear a white dress shirt, black tie and black pants.
Our Wind ensemble wears a black dress [I must say I don't fancy it all too much, since we're going to Chicago this year we don't have to wear those, we're wearing normal band ones...instead of that [[we wore those for carnegie hall last year]]
the guys wear a tuxedo, like us this year, they will be wearing normal band clothes.

Our school has always had uniforms, tuxes for the guys and dresses for the girls. Well, they're getting old and music department is attempting to save up for all new uniforms. Holy s**t.
$75,000-100,000
Including replacing the marching band uniforms which are just pants, long sleeve shirt and a jacket.
But, really, we've always had uniforms provided by the school, I would find it odd to have to get my own. O.o

For our school, all of the guys wear a standard tux, but the girls all have to wear the same dress that we have to buy through the band. It's nothing too weird-looking, though, so I guess I should be thankful for that.

my concert band isn't connected with my school, but our uniform is, for girls, a grey skirt, white shirt and a black blazer with a crest. The guys have to wear black trousers and a white shirt, blue tie and the blazer... It's actually pretty cool, really .

But I'm not used to that. o.O I'm just hoping our director doesn't choose the dresses by himself. What he wants us to wear pretty much looks like black potatoe sacks. D: Stronghearted11- Do your flutes normally look like sluts?

For the past whatever (5/6) years there never really was a concert uniform for my school. Our director would just say white on top, black on bottom, and just to make it look nice. This year though, instead of doing both marching and concert competitions in the spring, we're going with just concert. This means we're going to actually have a concert uniform, and I get to make allll of the dresses <3. (^^';;; )

When I went to school, I had to buy a black dress for my uniform (from the school). Both of the bands, and the choir had to wear that black dress. The guys usualy wore a tuxedo.

We have two outfits:
* Tuxedo, black shoes, and socks ((A.K.A. 'Formal Dress'))
* White band shirt and black pants, socks, and shoes ((A.K.A. 'Casual Dress'))
Yep..

For the Christmas concert, we just wear all black. For Spring concerts, everyone must have nice black pants and a white undershirt to go under our tuxedo jackets and frock-thingys and bowtie and all that jazz... I'm glad we don't have to wear dresses. I don't like skirts very much.

Our bands pretty small so I think I'll only have to make somewhere around 20(?) dresses :3
