I do have a question to the Brits of this guild. What exactly is a pikey?
A Pikey can be classed as a Gipsy/ traveler. They usually travel the country in caravans wandering from place to place. They travel in large groups and when they setup camp they pick places like feilds/ car parks etc.
They're a nomadic people who usually only associate with them-selves. They don't pay taxes and sponge off the goverment for child support and well fare benefits etc.
They do odd jobs to earn money in the area they set-up camp. These people might look poor but they have vast sums of money within their large families. They are a very unpopular people as most of them (but not all of them) are theives and very good ones at that.
They are also feared because they have no regard for the law and are reputed for carrying fire arms. They also have a reputation for being excellent street fighters/ bare knuckle boxers.
One of my instructors is friends with a particular group of travelers who are wicked fighters. I've trained with them quite a few times and their hand speed and power is awsome and they are very tough. On top of that they know every dirty trick in the book. Sparring with them is excellent if you're on good terms with them because they'll show you alot.
They're largely a mis-understood people who have been following this way of life for hundreds of years and their knowledge is passed down through the generations. They're fairly commen in the UK and through-out Europe.
