About Samantha Name: Samantha Hakan Age: 21 Occupation: College Student Pokemon DNA Sample: Ninetales Human Description: Samantha is your typical college girl, most often found in t-shirts or tanktops and jeans or khaki cargos. She sides with more confortable clothes than worrying about dressing up. Why worry about messing up nice clothes anyway in everyday life? Other stuff? Emerald green eyes, mid-length to long dark blonde hair, bordering more on light brown, around 5'8", athletic build, etc, etc... Personality: Your typical fun-loving college girl, Samantha's always up for an adventure, whether we're talking something sporty like skating or waterskiing, or something more exciting like wilderness exploration hikes or a night at the dance club. She's a little quiet with new people, but really opens up once she gets to know them. As a point of advice, you'd really rather be her friend than her enemy though. She's loyal to the death to her friends...and viciously merciless with her enemies. So much so, that she almost seems like a different person at times. She lives by sarcasm and snarky comments, but she's not a pessimist, as one might think. She's not much of an optimist either. She likes to think of herself as a realist instead. She tends to be logical and analytical most of the time...until her emotions get the best of her and her temper flares out of control. Good advice in such a situation? Run. History: Diagnosed with diabetes at a young age, Samantha has managed to live a mostly normal, healthy life...until this point. Approximately a year ago, things started falling apart -- literally. One by one, her organs began mysteriously faltering, then failing. Kept alive only by constant life support, she and her family scrambled for even the slightest bit of hope in the darkness. They tried experimental procedures, some legal and some not, but all to no avail. It seemed like time had run out, leaving them with no remaining options. Then, her uncle, Carl, stepped in. He seemed hesitant at first to suggest it, but prodded by other family members, he suggested that she be released into his care. He explained that his employer, CRONUS, was working on a top secret project that might save Samantha's life. He couldn't give them any details at this time, but he assured them that this was her most likely chance for survival. And so, it was agreed upon. Samantha gave her consent as well as her parents, and Samantha was transported via Medi-vac to CRONUS' top secret island facility. Neither she nor her other family members had any idea exactly to what horrors she had been condemned. Likes: Dancing, singing, martial arts, good food, and making the most of life Dislikes: Bullies, hypocrites, and lima beans. Eww.

About Ninetales Ninetales (キュウコン, Kyuukon?, Kyukon) is one of 407 fictional species of Pokémon in the Pokémon franchise. It is the evolved form of Vulpix, and one of the original 150. Ninetales is inspired by a Japanese fox spirit, the kitsune. As a kitsune grows older, it gains more tails; the Kyuubi-no-kitsune is a nine-tailed fox demon, the most a kitsune can get (except for Inari, who is sometimes depicted as a ten-tailed kitsune). So, too, is Ninetales the most experienced fox pokémon. Much like a kitsune, Ninetales is very clever and sinister. Also like the kitsune, when Vulpix evolves into a Ninetales, Vulpix's red fur turns pale yellow. If the Vulpix is shiny (gold), it will turn silver. Ninetales' name comes from the fact that it has nine tails, and that the word tail is a homophone of tale. The name is also a reference to a Chinese myth of a nine-tailed fox spirit who serves under Nuwa, and the Japanese. Its Japanese name, Kyukon, is probably a portmanteau derived from two sources. "Kyuu" is the Japanese word for the number "nine". "Kon" comes from "kon kon", an onomatopoeic word describing the bark of a fox (Many Japanese children's tales feature small foxes named "Kon"). In the beta, it was known as Nine Tales. BiologyNinetales is very intelligent, but vengeful; Ninetales have been recorded going to extreme lengths to enact complicated revenge on those that offend or harm them. They (as well as Vulpix) have good senses of smell and hearing. Ninetales is the second longest-lived of all Pokémon (see Rayquaza), (save for possibly rock types). It can live well beyond a thousand years. Gender may play a role in this; three times as many female Vulpix evolve into Ninetales as males [citation needed], and in most species (real or Pokémon), females outlive the males. Its signature attacks derive from two flame sacs located in the neck, which project from two ports on the back of the mouth. Although its flame is not as hot as other species (such as the Charizard), it can project flame for a longer period of time than most species (with the notable exception of the Charizard). If these flame sacs are punctured, the pokémon suffers a fate similar to liver failure if not quickly treated. Ninetales, as a species, have a weak point when it comes to the young; in the Pokémon universe, tales of Ninetales helping children (and their parents, if present) out of blazing buildings or through harsh winter climates are common. They also perform the same courtesy for baby Pokémon. However, they do not raise Pokémon of other species, nor humans, any more often than a normal animal. According to legend, 9 noble saints were united and reincarnated into this Pokémon. Some legends claim that each of its nine tails has its own unique type of special power. They are attributed with many mystical powers: laying curses, mind control, the ability to control fire, invisibility, and more. However, these reports are only sporadically reported, if at all. Carl Hakan: Samantha's uncle and the main reason she ended up on CRONUS' island and one of their experiments. Although he supposably brought her to the lab to save her life, one has to wonder, was that his only incentive?

Raena Vaccin: Met in the exercise yard outside of the main CRONUS lab. First take on Raena is that while seeming timid and prone to growing quiet around others, much of her history is still a mystery: one that intrigues Samantha...
Tara Maigin: Their first encounter in the exercise yard was brief, but intense. They seemed to be getting along until the matter of Samantha's last name and her blood connection to Dr. Carl Hakan arose, then it seemed that hostilities could be in the works. Perhaps it was fortunate that Samantha's temper kicked in and she stormed off. What was Tara's story and what was her problem with "Uncle Carl?"
Shawn Darrow: First caught Samantha's attention in his mad dash across the exercise yard. He seems like a nice enough kid, but what was his life like before arriving at CRONUS? Could it really have been so horrible that he would have chosen death over coming to the island? He also seems to have an innate fear of Pokemon, no matter what the type, though particularly of Ghost-types for some reason.
Karen Mariston: The two met in the exercise yard while Samantha was working with a punching bag. What started with a casual interview soon turned into an off-the-record discussion of what might be REALLY happening at CRONUS. Perhaps between Samantha and the writer, the two might discover the truth behind the lies.

Koorie Shizuku: The girl's got some good fighting moves; impressive as she claims to be self-taught. Unfortunately, Samantha could get little personal information out of the icy woman. She could sense something about her that she liked though, underneath the cool outer shell.

Eliana Wilson: While not necessarily an 'enemy' just yet, she's sure well on the way to becoming one. She seems to enjoy pushing Samantha to the edge and perhaps beyond. Only time will tell as to what might develop between these two.
