We all know that there was a romance with The Doctor and Rose but do you think that The Doctor and Martha Jones will fall in love with each other?
I hope that they do, Im more of a 9th Doctor/Rose fan than a 10th Doctor/Rose fan and even though we dont know a lot about Martha i'm having a good feeling about her being another love interest for The Doctor. Sorry if a topic like this has already been posted but I didnt see one.

Personally I think that's been done to death now & they need to quit it. Besides, if he fell in love again so fast it would just cheapen what was supposed to be kind of a unique relationship between him & Rose.

What about if it happened slowly, I dont want it to be love at first sight because he will still be missing Rose too much. Didnt The Doctor fall in love with any of his other companions before Rose?

I believe the Doctor does have a great affection and respect for his companions. However, I wouldn't want to actually see a "love story" romance between him or any of his companions. The Doctor's love should be kept platonic but have a definite chemisty between them to keep us all wishing for something more. That's what sexual tension is all about and makes for better story lines. Just my opinion. smile

I think there should be no real romance on DW. It just... cheapens it. I can kind of see 10/Rose, especially 9/Rose, but that's about it. And if he suddenly feel in love with the next companion, well, that would be stupid.

Classic Who relationships with companions was platonic, and I wish New Who would return to that tradition.

Mushy romance in the TARDIS is just not my thing. How about Jack and Martha? Do they make a good match?

I sometimes think Jack would consider a tyrannosaurus rex a potentially good match... rofl

I really think that it would be stupid for them to do that. If the doctor fell in love so easily after loseing rose.. how constant is that? It would just make him seem needy.. and sad really... sad I think that is when I would stop watching the show.

I dont mean straight away I mean like showing tiny hints of liking each other really near the end of series 3, because I agree it would be odd straight after losing Rose if he fell in love instantly (which I find a bit daft anyway falling in love at first sight) I had a thought last night the 9th Doctor was hard hearted and didnt want a companion but Rose made him feel love again and helped him start to heal from losing all of his people wouldnt the Doctor be more loving now? more willing to open his heart but he wont want to do it straight after losing Rose. I hope I made sense there lol xd Thats why I thought the tinyest of tiny hints at the end of series 3.

It would be stupid if he just bounce back after losing Rose. Though I think we can all agree with that. What they should do is have him go solo for a while -then- met a new companion. Just to give him time to get over losing Rose, you know..some 'me time' on the Doctor's behalf.

Just to give him time to get over losing Rose, you know..some 'me time' on the Doctor's behalf. Yeah at least for a few episodes (1 or 2) otherwise it will seem too coincidental that soon after Rose he just so happens to meet a new companion. Though throughout the new series he should make a few 'small' refrences to Rose so that we know he hasnt forgotten her and still cares about her, otherwise it might seem like she was never with him.

I certainly hope Ten and Martha remain platonic. The only companion I approve of the Doctor having a romantic relationship with is Romana. And I've only ever seen her once.
