I must say that I am excited. I've never played or even read through CotSQ, so I'm going into this not knowing what lies ahead. I'm looking forward to playing as the cleric. Hopefully everyone stays active so we can get to the end of the adventure! 3nodding

*sticks my foot out to trip Dimitri* Well, this should be fun. I wonder how many people shall die hehe. I'm really looking forward to seeing how my character handles the campaign, since I took a big gamble spending half my money on a ring...a very useful ring though heh. I'll probably be doing the most damage in the group, with exception of possibly some spells.

And how does Etch Rune work, anyways? Is it anything like Inscribe Rune from the FRCS, which my cleric is going to use?

Not to mention my strength mod and so on. By the end of the adventure, if I survive, I'll be doing 10D6 plus mods

In a sense almost. What it does is, it inscribes a rune on a surface of an object that anyone can use. But in a sense it's just the words, the spell component or focus must be acquired before the rune can activate. For example, I etch the rune Protection Form Evil on the inside of your shield. To activate it you must have the silver dust and also trace a circle around the person you wish to protect. Only then can you activate the rune. Etching a rune can only be done outside of combat and under a nonstress situation.
Anyways, I'm think about dropping seeing how most people never heard of it. If anyone agrees with this say aye.

Find a nice, material wall at the end of the wall of force, and walk through it, and around the wall. And even if I can't get to the other side of it, that's fine since I'll be safe as well. That's all I care about, survival.

I say drop it because it sounds like scribe scroll without the gold or xp cost, with only material components being the thing you need, and anyone can complete it.
My Inscribe Rune requires me to spend money and xp to make a rune, and I need to succeed on a Craft check. Though, in the end, anyone can activate the rune.
I have a rune of Bull's Strength on my helmet, and someone could walk over and touch the rune and get Bull's Strength cast on them. The rune has two charges (which doubles its cost). When I reach level 8 runecaster, I can make a permanant rune (uber!!!!). Of course, the real use comes in runes of Cure spells. I've got the materials for one of those runes, and I will inscribe it on someone's armor so they have a usable cure effect smile
