It's kinda funny, if you sheathed it you wouldn't be able to pull it out. (Sorta like Kyo's sword in SDK)

No. A Masamune is a sword created by a Masamune (person) So a Nodachi could easily also be a Masamune but not only a Masamune, no sword is only a Masamune.

Masamune is somewhat of a legend from his swords. It was said that a sword made by him never needed to be sharped. He also poured his heart and soul into them and that is why they were so well known.

Today it seems like there was only one direct disended of Masamune, but he too makes swords in the traditional way.

Yes, it's called the Masamune.
Masamune's swords gained a hell of a reputation, and are freqently featured in Square-Enix games as legendary swords.
The fact that it is a nodachi-style sword does not stop it from being "the Masamune"
