first make izenkei then add nai. after yu mkae to these forms you do taking off the -i in nai and add kya then put on ikenai

for yodan verb

yomu-> yoma->yomanai->yomana->yomanakya-> yomanakya ikenai

for ichidan

taberu-> tabe->tabenai-> tabena->tabenakya->tabenakya ikenai

for suru and kuru it different:

shinai

konai

for them do same, drop -i then put on kya and then at end put ikenai

shinakya ikenai

konakya ikenai

-nakya ikenai doesnt mean if not dont do it mean "have to" or "must"

you add to verb you have to or must do

narani polite but -nakya is informal

that is in between polite and informal, that all you need know. remember it mean "have to" or "must" not "if not don't" (-nakya also can be small form of -nakereba, "if not)"

as memory re starter, -nakya ikenai, -nakya naranai, -nakutewa ikenai and -nakutewa naranai all mean "have to" or "must"
