Kitsusagi Mountain
Captain

PostPosted: Thu Jun 15, 2006 10:39 pm

The area immediately surrounding the Wooden Cabin is saturated with pine trees, all of them looming up high towards the sky. All of the trees seem healthy enough, their needles holding a pure evergreen color and a tastey scent true to the color. The bases and trunks of the trees are a healthy deep brown color, seeming even stronger than normal pine-wood. The ground surrounding the woods is dust covered, occasionally littered with healthy shrubs. The woods are home to many a creature, from as small as mice, to as large as deer.

There is one tree in particular that seems quite enchanting. Though there is a large knot-hole within the trunk. Despite this one flaw, it served as the birthplace of the Earth Kitsusagi, and now is forever adorned with vines.

The woods span a decent amount of the Mountain, but as with all things, they begin to dwindle, eventually leading to the Rocky Edges.

There are no more pawprints, but instead a kitsusagi which seems to be hiding something in her tails. Take her to the Kitsusagi Mountain main thread, post her image and what path you took to find her. Once someone does this, then we might find out what it is she is hiding...

User ImageAmong the many various branches of the forrest, something was propelling itself with ease. Deeper, and deeper, the thing moved, never fully visible thanks to the shade of pine needles. Hints of green, black, and tan might have been flashed every now and again, but the sensations were never long-lasting. Kakashi was on the move today, on one of those much-needed training runs that hadn't really been so much set as it was being improvised as he went along. There was a destination today, or at least a stopping point; the tree set in the middle of the deep forrest.

Pakkun clutched tightly the wayward strands of silver hair as they moved along, tempted to go right back to his warm haven of the ninja's scroll pouch. However, his ward was moving far too fast, and he dared not let go. He did, however, snatch and yank at one of Kakashi's long ears as they seemed to go falling down through the branches. They were descending- getting closer to their destination. Pakkun buried his nose grumpily into the other's fur, not happy at all with whatever was floating in the air of the mountain lately. He wondered if the copycat ninja could smell it through that mask of his too. Doubtful. Ignorant brat.

User ImageIf Kakashi had been searching for solitude within the heart of the forest, he would be disappointed to know that someone else had gotten there first. Sprawled within some of the lower, thicker branches of the tree was the sole survivor of the Uchiha clan himself. Dark eyes were curently half-way shut, giving him a rather thoughtful appearance as Sasuke silently continued to brood. His tails twitched lazily to themselves, dangling off the sides of the branch as they did so. It was the same thing, day in and day out: training, then off thinking by himself. Bitterness had taken root deep within his soul, and it was hard to simply break away from the past which had warped him in such a way.

An ear perked up suddenly, and the Uchiha twisted his head a little, reluctantly pushing his paws underneath him so he was sitting up on the branch instead. Someone coming so fast in this part of the forest...A low, irritated growl threatened to build up in his throat, but Sasuke didn't bother with it. It was either Zetsumei, his...'ward', of sorts, or...His tails began to flick themselves with irritation, paws flexing against the rough wood that supported them. No, if he was lucky, whoever it was would just move along--unless they were brave enough to face an irritable Sasuke.

Oh, he did enjoy his solitude, but he did savor his good company, too. If Sasuke thought he was going to brood in his dank, dark little soul all by himself today, then he was mistaken. For a while, the forrest would be still and reveal his presence as little as possible. Then, quite suddenly, the awaited kitsusagi appeared in a rather daring attempt to jump a large gap between the pines and the special tree. He made it, of course, paws smacking the trunk harshly and claws sinking deep into the wood. Chakra, invisible at the moment, effectively kept him stuck otherwise.

"Well, look who it is..." Kakashi drawled, tilting his head to look over his shoulder at Sasuke. His tails all twitched simultaneously, and he pulled himself up to an overhead branch, skirting along the wood. "You're starting to become a stranger, you know." He noted, judging the stability of his own branch in case he wanted to lay down.

Lips had drawn back to bare sharp teeth in a silent snarl while dark eyes quickly tracked the other ninja, his head twisting sharply to follow the other as he lunged at the tree trunk. The more vicious side of Sasuke's mind was all for Kakashi falling right off--but there was no sign of outward disappointment when the other managed to haul himself up. Somehow, Kakashi knew how to hit all the right buttons to tick him off, but the Uchiha restrained his anger, claws still flexing into the old wood beneath his paws as he glowered irritably up at the other. "Yeah?" His tone was clipped, and bitter, "I'd been doing a damn good job of avoiding you, but apparently it wasn't long enough."

Ahh, yes, malcontent was a familiar emotion for Sasuke. But for Kakashi to come sauntering in like nothing had even happened was enough to get him to pace. His tails lashed angrily at the air as he paused for a moment, narrowed eyes sweeping across the rest of the forest. He didn't feel like wasting his breath on someone he'd so dearly like to murder right now.

"Avoiding? That's not very nice, Sasuke." The silver one tutted disapprovingly, knowing that, had he really wished to, he could have found the Uchiha. He was good at tracking, so the best chance to avoid him would be to lock oneself up at home. Even then, Kakashi might have way to contact him. It was all a question of determination but lately, he hadn't possessed a whole lot of it. The fact that Sasuke was here now... well, maybe it meant something. He wasn't to go running away from the paler one now that he was here, in any case, no matter how much he snapped. Still seeming to be teasing, he leaned forward on his branch. "I thought we had something special."

Nah. Only three kids, you know? One of which recently had three children themselves. Of course, he'd keep that juicy little tidbit to himself for now. Button, button, which button to press next? Testing now. Sasuke already seemed enough on edge, and now he was reaching out, willing to touch on the subject of the problem while he was here. Either way, he was going to get hissed at, so it didn't really seem to matter.

One of his eyes twitched as the kitsu practically had to bite his own tongue to keep from snarling, his tails bristling and openly displaying his irritation. It looked like maybe he would have been able to blow it off, simply leave and go sulk somewhere else by himself--but Kakashi kept talking, and he kept listening. "Something special," His voice had gone deadly quiet, head lowering and twisting to the side a little as his teeth gnashed against one another. "Since when does saddling your hellspawn with me count as special?" Ah, yeah, he'd snapped. Forcing chakra into his paws and leaping off hard, Sasuke twisted himself in midair and viciously hauled himself onto Kakashi's branch, snapping his teeth right in the other's face.

"I have half a mind to kill you." He spat, the dark pupils of his eyes beginning to take on a faint crimson gleam. His paws continued to shred the wood underneath them while the Uchiha bristled angrily, looking surprisingly threatening now that he'd managed to grow up to a respectable size.

"Mine?" He echoed, almost incredulous. Did that mean Sasuke was in denial, then? Definitely a Sasuke move if he ever heard of one. "They're yours too." His reflexes were still good, he was pleased to know, his head lifting father out of the danger zone. He was on his paws, taking a step back towards the trunk of the tree. Not because he was afraid, but because he was making room for the other. Oh no, he did not like the threat, but he resisted the urge to pin his ears aggressively. Instead, he allowed it to roll on over his shoulders with a deep chuckle.

"And I have half the mind to shove you out of this tree onto your a**. Maybe it'd clear your head a little." He offered, lifting his head. "But we're both sensible adults here, aren't we? Hmm. I don't want to fight you, Sasuke."

His ears had swept back, pinned flatly against his skull at the note of astonishment within Kakashi's voice. Did he have to spell it out? "I didn't want them, nor did I take the measures to have them." Sasuke hissed, dark eyes flashing once more before they swirled into the accusing red of the Sharingan. Whether he noticed Kakashi's step backwards was only to make room, he gave no sign. It would have been easier if the other had gotten mad--it only gave Sasuke more reason to lash out. But no, he was met only with a damnable chuckle, and a low, aggressive rumble of a growl pulsed in his throat.

The threat was enough to have him bare his teeth a bit more, bristling, bristling...until he seemed to deflate without warning. "Hmph." With a contemptuous snort at Kakashi, Sasuke settled on his haunches, giving a sharp toss of his head and glowering in the opposite direction. Sensible adults...hah. The Uchiha wasn't childish enough to remark that maybe Kakashi didn't want to fight because he knew that he'd lose--although he was sorely tempted to. No fighting, then? Fine. But he wasn't leaving this tree.

Kakashi arched his visible brow. "You didn't disagree in the end. You contributed. I watched them hatch, seen them growing... And while the brat I raised doesn't look much like you, the other two do. They're yours too." The final bit he said a bit more firmly, those tan tails twitching lightly with an almost accusing emphasis. "And I can assure you, you got off lucky. How is your son, anyway? What was his name, again?"

He was curious as to the sudden deflation, his nerves still on high alert for an attack. "And, aside from your usual token bitterness... how are you?" That was asking to be snapped at. The one-eyes kitsu was beyond caring about his well-being.

Sasuke refused to unpin his ears, determined to be surly about this entire thing. No, he hadn't disagreed...but damn it, that didn't change the fact that he hadn't wanted them. His shoulders hunched aggressively at the firm statement, and the Uchiha merely snorted in response. Lucky? Bah, if lucky meant that his ward reminded him irritatingly of Kakashi. Sasuke had never met his other two children, and for a moment, he shifted slightly with an emotion akin to reluctant guilt. That was furiously choked down and strangled, and Sasuke could yet again remain indifferent upon the matter. "Zetsumei." His tone was flat, not at all ashamed that he had named his child after death. It was a good name.

Kakashi would receive an irritated flash of his teeth, but Sasuke chose to ignore the snarkiness. "Nothing's changed." He retorted, sounding almost bored at this point. "So, what now? Assuming you've finished lecturing me about offspring." All right, maybe a little snappy.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 6:02 pm

"Mmm. I see." He'd seen the children, all of them, surely. Alot of the time they hadn't seen him, but whatever, right? Zetsumei-- morbid enough, but who was he to talk? He'd named his own after one of his favorite and most powerful moves. The final kit was a mystery to him for the most part, aside from what he looked like. Raikiri had likely spoken to him, but he didn't feel inclined to ask her. He didn't like to ask the girl much of anything what with just how excitable she was. She definitely got the snappishness and constant PMS from Sasuke, he concluded.

"Disappointing. Not sur--"

"Will you two stop bitching at each other?" Pakkun pipped up from his pouch, hanging out just enough so his grumpy countenance could be clearly displayed. "When you were teenagers, you couldn't cro-bar you apart. Why don't you go back to that, huh? I could at least ignore that. Damn brats."

A tanned paw quickly shoved the guardian back into place, those ears lowering a bit with honest embarrassment. Kakashi cleared his throat, willing to pretend it hadn't been said. He sat back on is haunches, considering laying. "What now? ...You tell me."

Sasuke honestly hadn't cared enough to look in on his other children--he'd been busy 'raising' Zetsumei. Though he might not have showered the kit with any affection at all, he'd certainly taught him how to be a damn decent ninja. The boy was too soft though; it wasn't in his blood to fight. Kakashi's words made his ears p***k a little, aggression beginning to take hold of his stance once more. Well, until Pakkun threw in his two cents.

The crimson glare of the Sharingan narrowed a little bit, ears pinning back in embarassment as well as anger. Yes, thank you, he didn't want to be reminded of that. After a moment, his pupils swirled and faded back into an icy black. Crowbar...hmph. Damn Pakkun. Sasuke fixed his surly gaze on Kakashi, snorting before glowering off to the side once more. "I'm afraid I'm out of ideas." His tone was clipped and still hostile, but a more subdued sense. Had Zetsumei even met his siblings? As far as Sasuke knew, no. Maybe it'd be better that way, he hissed softly to himself in thought. Then he wouldn't have to suffer any disappointments.
