Lofbross saw the caravan coming. But he did not move from his wood-hewn stall for an inch. If the gypsies coming down the mountain road wanted to see his wares- they would see them, and they would stop.

The Lowland-Gelm crossed his great hairy arms before himself, and tucked his chewing leaf up inside his upper lip. The expression on the squat, barrel-bodied man's bearded face was unreadable, but if one were to venture a guess, they might peg it as "surly". Or perhaps that was just the Gelm's way.

Lofbross certainly didn't seem the type to be sitting before a stand covered in jewelry, but indeed, he and his family had made many of the pieces that lay on the soft cloth. They, unlike their somewhat estranged northern cousins, the Highland-Gelm, who produced weapons, had long ago branched off to work beneath the great mountains in the mines, producing marvellous gems and jewelry.

Each of his wares had a price tag upon it. ...He liked to cut out as much chit-chat as possible with passers-by.

Remember, there is a Trading Guide here, if you're new and don't have the hang of this yet. And, as per usual, feel more than free to ask questions of me, or ANY other gypsy!

DeArca stopped his wagon, wanting to see what this strange man had to offer, immediately picking up the wood pendant he saw, he looked to the trader. "What is this?" he asked.

Caroline, who had dropped down from her wagon seat to see what the stopping was about, meanders her way over to the trader. "Ooh!" she says immediately, as delighted as a mermaid with a pearl. Her eyes are drawn to the belly chain. She can't take her gaze from it. The price tag says 80 on it. She could handle 80, she's absolutely sure.

Rojiza leans out from the wagon to see what her mother's so taken with. She finds her handling the belly chain and rolls her eyes somewhat, though she also thinks it's a beautiful piece. And she calls ME magpie! she thinks.

Heather saw the trading van but stayed with her caravan, she didn't have enough couplets to even think of getting something. She went into the main part of her caravan and fed the dogs instead so not to feel jealous or anything else!

Lofbross narrowed his eyes at the object, then said brusquely, "It brings peace and unity to certain elements. Earth, mostly, and wood."

"Fine workmanship there," the Lowland-Gelm said, moving on to the next interested gypsy. "Moonstones. Specialty gem of my sister."

"It's beautiful," she breathes, riveted. "Does it, um, do anything other than look amazing?" she inquires, holding the chain up to her waist and shaking her hips a bit. It's quite obvious she's taken with it.

Lofbross shrugged.

"I'd have to ask my sister," he said gruffly, "and other than being a fine artist... I don't have anything nice to say about her. ...You take your chances with that." He jabbed at the chain.

Caroline looks up, startled. "Oh! I'm...I'm sorry," she says, suddenly feeling like a child. She quits playing around and holds up the chain to the light to examine it. "Well," she says finally. "Chance or no chance, I love it. 80 couplets it is." She extracts the coinage from her purse and holds it out to the terse man. "Give my compliments to your sister," she says.

Silver bid Kesali and Vakejo to be still as she hopped from her wagon's seat. The two horses obliged, exchanging quiet nickers as they stood patiently. Kevashi was perched on his mother's shoulder as always, but Aisrhan was still on the seat. She looked down at her mother and made no move to get down. "Momma, I don't wanna go," she pouted. Silver sighed. "Alright, Ais. But you had better behave yourself. I'll be back in a moment." She took a few steps and thought better of it. "Khevashi, stay with your sister. Come get me if there's trouble." The crow cocked his head to one side as she spoke, and let out a small croak as a sort of "Yes ma'am" before spreading his wings and flying to his sister's side.

Silver, feeling only slightly more assured, made her way toward the merchant's stand. Once there, she nodded her head to the man in greeting and proceeded to look over the fine jeweled items that had been spread out or hung for display. Though it was all finely crafted, Silver didn't see anything that really caught her eye. She liked the jeweled sandals, but reasoned that she would have no use for them and they would only sit in her wagon, unused and collecting dust. Aisrhan certainly couldn't wear them either. Silver had plenty of necklaces and earrings... though the two rings she could see were quite lovely. She would have liked the moonstone belly chain, but Caroline had already purchased it. Silver didn't envy her friend, however. The item suited her well and Silver smiled warmly at the woman as she passed her.
Ah well, she thought to herself. I suppose I'll save my couplets for another day. She again nodded to the merchant, "Good day to you sir," and made her way back to Weathered Melody to sit and wait with her children.

Marissa's heart bumped excitedly against her chest as it always did when a trader came around. She'd heard word that it was a jewlery trader, as well, and she delighted. She hadn't forgotten the ancient, dusty tome that waited in her wagon, and she was in the market for gold.

She noticed the three new caravan members. Wondering how heavy their purses were, she approached them. Reaching into her hip-purse with a smile and a word of welcome, she gave DeArca, Irina, and Altaria 10 couplets each before making her way to the trader.

She approached the table, smiling giddily at the wares. She was gald Kale was napping in the wagon, so he didn't have to see his mother acting so folly. A female in every respect, Marissa was partial to beautiful trinkets. She fawned over the merchandise.

Two pieces of gold caught her eye. The necklace, a delicate beauty with a rose attached, entranced her for it's craftsmanship and lovliness. The gold ring was nice as well, and it's price tag intrigued her. She picked up both items and turned to the burly man behind the table.

"Sir, could you tell a lady about these?"

Anezka smiled as the wagons all pulled to a stop, knowing that it meant there was a trader. She smiled at Leshya'e and then climbed forward from her seat to sit upon Alexander's back. Making sure she had her pouch of couplets, Leshya'e made her way to the trader. The first thing to catch her eye were the sandals, since they looked just the right size for her Anezka.
She had wanted Ani to start wearing some sort of footwear, and if she bought these there would be no possibility of Ani refusing. Bowing her head to Lofbross and the others that were looking at his items, she went to have a closer look at the jeweled sandals.

Veshengo walked casually up to the stall, standing a few feet from Marissa, but remaining inconspicuous. He spotted what she was looking at and reached into his pocket, counting his couplets and preparing himself to step forward and pay for the lovely necklace if she indeed decided she wanted it.

"I'll do that," Lof said, taking the couplets- not intending to speak one whit to his sister other than to give her the share of the money for being the craftsman. ...She was too loose, too easy-going for Lof. There was just something about her that said freespirit, his sister- and it left a sour taste in his mouth.

Lof narrowed his eyes at the attractive woman. She had a sort of solid, almost ice-queen like movements. She seemed assured, fierce yet calm. Lofbross cleared his throat, and nodded back to her.

"And you." He replied. Good thing, the Gelm thought, that she had not stopped. He was never pleased with himself around women he found attractive.
