The Arena is where you go to battle other Empyreans in Duels, fight Monsters for Sport, watch duels of more talented Empyreans and train for P.E. class. While this thread is not restricted for any level Empyrean, Empyreans must be Stage 1 or higher to compete. If you are a Stage Zero, feel free to watch and post your responses to the things you see. Level Zeros who have not attended Orrys' class may not Duel here.Currently, Proffessor Orrys has set up a bunch of obstacles in the Arena. Near the entrance are some tall boards with varying sizes of holes in them, the smallest of which is still arge enough for a Castor gun to be fired through, the largest of which are about the size of a man's head. Beyond the entry-boards, there are plankes, barrels, stacks of hay, panels of plexiglass hanging from the ceiling, false doors and brick walls cluttering up the Arena floor. These objects are meant tob e used for cover, and as tools to sneak up on your class mates. You may fire a maximum of three shots in one post, and you must roll 1 ten-sided die for each shot fired for it to count. The numbers on the dice correspond to the outcome. For convenence, it will be posted here for your reference: The Paint Shots:There will be 30 shells given to each student. You can choose to role play missing on purpose, or you can take your luck with the roll of the dice. You may post a maximum of 3 shots per post. 1 - Botch. Not only do you miss, you hit yourself to do 1 point for the opposing team 2 - Miss. You score no points for this shot. 3 - Fizzle. The Shell doesn't go off, and you lose that shell. 4 - Dud. The Shell fires and hits the target, but doesn't explode with paint when it hits. It hurts like nothing else, but you still don't get any points. 5 - White. 1 point for a white paint splatter on an opponent. 6 - Black. 1 point for a black paint splatter on an opponent. 7 - Green. 1 point for a green paint splatter on an opponent. 8 - Blue. 2 points for a blue paint splatter on an opponent. 9 - Yellow. 2 points for a yellow paint splatter on an opponent. 10 - Red. 3 points for a red paint splatter on an opponent. Each of you have 30 shells to fire. You may fire as many or as few as you wish at -any- student with a thread in the guild. Each student has been assigned to a team, so you may be firing on your teammates for all you know. The number of ponits fired against your own side will be deducted from the totals, and the winning side will be diceded when the deadline happens. Please play safe, have fun, and go!!

After wandering for a while, Kallisto realized she had no idea of where she was headed. Perhaps the Arena? Or maybe the garden... Looking around, she spotted a panel on the wall that pointed in various directions, the arrows indicating where to go to reach the Teacher's Lounge, the Garden, and Officem etc. But no idication of where the Arena might be.
She spotted a few students who seemed to have come from an exercise class of somesort and made her way over to them. After a brief conversation, they pointed her in the right direction and bid her farewell, their smiles dissappeaing quickly around the corner. Waving, Kallisto watched them go and wondered if she'd develop a group of close friends like that. So far it seemed that wasn't going to happen in the near future. Perhaps when the next rolled around, she'd sit near someone she could talk to.
Continuing on, she passed by several rooms and entered a hallway that led up to a set of impressive doors then curved away to either side and up a flight of steps to smaller doors which she assumed were the spectator doors. Everything seemed to be circular in the school. Did that mean the rest of the city was like this? She shook head, probably just the school, and continued on up the stair past the main entry and onto a balcony that overlooked a huge ovoid bowl. All around, seats were set up along the curving sides and immediately made Kallistor feel very small indeed.
She grinned, but it also sent an exhilirating thrill through her. What would the evening bring? She hoped she'd see something exciting like a sparring match or even a duel. Smiling, she traced her fingers over the rail and began to walk around the perimeter of the Arena, her thoughts full of duelling.

Down on the arena floor, two Stage One Empyreans, with the beginning buddings of their Essence manifestations stood a short distance apart and were preparing to practise their duelling skills. They laughed and shouted mock-taunts at one another, clearly friends. One of them was clearly Sanguine, with bright red skin and hair, and flashing yellow eyes. He already was showing little yellow horn studs on his temples, and golden fur lines his forearms and shins. His opponent was as blue as he was red, and he had long flowing hair and the smallest gossomer wings branching out from his shoulders, a plume of a shimmering tail sprouting out bewteen the split of his coat tails. With taunts and calls they came together, clashing bodies and magics in a heap of sound and colour.

Her gaze had travelled to the stands themselves, imagining the clamour that would arise at a school event. Hundreds of Empyrean's voices lifted in encouragment for their favourite, the tense moments of breathlessness during a match too close call. It arose in her mind, bright images clanging as though they were real.
Turning towards the arena's bowl, Kallisto spotted movement and soon registered the two combatants. Smiling, she leaned over the rail once more and spotted a seat on the tier below that would afford a pleasant place to watch from. She didn't recognize the pair but the unique ring of clashing steel sang in the air, fascinating her. By their appearance, they had to be first stage. Kallisto found herself impatient to grow, envious of the not yet fluid movements.
Making her down a stairwell, Kallisto listened intently to the match, smiling in response to some of the banter the two threw at one another. Arriving at the spot she had chosen, she sat in the front row to observe the match, trying to decide who to root for.

After a time, Kallisto grew bored and her eyes became heavy with the need for sleep. It had been an eventful first day and she couldn't wait to tell Cecil about it. Maybe he'd pick up a word or two?
Weary, she waved farewell to the pair that were sparring and headed back down the long passages to her room. She shook her shoes off and hand the presence of mind to check her schedule before falling asleep : Tryna's Cooking class.
A final thought drifted from the depths of Kallisto's rapidly fading conscience. Something hands on a least, even though I burn everything I touch...

Elanin blazed through the entryway, Caster gun held close to her chest as she ducked through the first row of planks, then dove behind some cover. She fired off a shot, not aiming at anything or anyone in particular as she again quickly got onto her feet and hustled to another patch of cover, ducking down and taking a deep breath, before popping up and firing another shot. She was so glad she wore pants and boots, and not a dress like some of the others girls she'd and met. A dress would just get in her way right now, and she liked the range of motion the pants gave her. After waiting a few moments she darted out and dove for another bit of cover, and this time leaning over the side of it to fire a shot before ducking back behind it to catch her breath.
This was going to be fun!

... He was sure this wasn't a good idea.
Ubel really was sure.
But damned if he couldn't resist this game.
He very nearly dove into the arena, stumbling as he rolled to his feet, only to try and duck and avoid any fire in his general direction.
This was insane.
And, yet, he whipped around and pulled out his Caster Gun, aiming a bit randomly - though he wouldn't admit - in the direction he had heard previous fire coming from, squeezing off a shot, before diving to hide.

Elanin had caught her breath, and started off again, keeping low to the ground and darting to flank the area she'd just heard fire from, she poped up and took aim, shooting before ducking back down and scooting along the ground towards the next patch of cover, firing a shot while prone when she found a break in the cover, and then quickly getting to her feet and spriting to the next section, hearing a shot whizz by her head, she duck down and bit her lip, these things would probably hurt! So she popped up quick before ducking down again and fireing one more shot before staying low, hoping she wouldn't get nailed too much.

Aysel ran into the Arena, quickly locating the place with the post cover and going to hide there, pretty sure that nobody had seen her mad dash. Peeking out, she fired two shots over toward where she'd heard them beforehand.
Eee.
War games weren't really her style, but she'd decided to play anyway. It could be fun, right? Right?

Grave snuck in through the front door planks, keeping himself low and feeling strongly uncomfortable about the holes in the wooden planks. Grave paused before exiting the thin cover and peeked through one of the low holes. He caught sight of Ubel standing in the open, firing a shot. Grave grinned and aimed carefully at his friend's arm. He didn't want to -hurt- him...an elbow would be a good shot, wouldn't it? Grave fired. Then, without waiting to see if he hit his mark, Grave did a dive tumble towards a concrete tube and rolled behind it. This was the first time he'd really used his body, and he was pleased to find how lightly it moved, how quickly it responded. Perhaps he'd be able to become a Grigori someday afterall... Grave darted up over the edge of the cement tube and fired off another shot before ducking behind it again. The dust was already caked on his boots and his dark pants, but his heart was racing. The envigorating essence-charged persperation already dotted his brow and he forced himself to take deep breaths. What a rush!

There were more people playing.
Ubel was -not- going to whine.
He bit his bottom lip - because it wasn't like he hurt enough already, with that botched shot, right? Right - and moved to sit up, firing off two shots towards where he heard the other two opponents at, before diving back for cover.

Nadyrr gulped a little as he saw the door of the arena before him, shouldering his castor gun he moved more quietly then he thought was possible to peek inside of the doorway. He saw movement and dashed in the door way shooting off a shot in the general direction of Ubel before pressing his back to some benches. Hearing more fire Nadyrr kept low and then sent off another shot in the direction he had heard them.

It was startling to be hit.
And painful. Ubel pouted immediately, turning bright red eyes to Grave and pursing his lips, a challenge in his gaze. Aiming and waiting for Grave to come into view just the slightest bit, when he peeked up over the cement tube, he took a shot at the other, grinning rather wickedly, before diving back into his own hiding place, body twisting easily so he could fire a shot at Nadyyr.

Elanin heard more people, and she grinned. YES! More Lambs to the slaughter! She laughed and popped up, firing of two shots off before ducking again, and scooting along to find another spot to cover. She didn't want to stick to just one place to fire her shot, and she wasn't really aiming. She was just out ot spread as much damage as she could. When she had a Caster gun in her hand she felt empowered, and she was gonna use it! Mid run she held the gun out and fired towards the sounds of shot. "HAHA!"

Hah. From where she crouched, Grave was in full view...though she hoped he couldn't see her. Sneering silently, she fired three successive shots at him, not really caring where on him she hit- as long as she hit him.
Revenge was sweet, for making Ube ignore her.
