What if someone like, gathered alot of their energy in a psi-ball, and put it in a baby? Would it make the baby have over-developed psychic abilities? Or just make him hyper until he used up all the energy?

I wouldn't recommend messing with a baby like that...I'm not exactly certain what would happen, but I don't want to risk warping such a fragile young mind...

Even if it did result in that and didn't damage the baby in any way, it would be an incredibly stupid thing to do. Think about a child's mind. Haven't you ever seen a young kid throw a fit over something they wanted? Now, think about that same kid wanting something, but instead of throwing a fit and screaming, they start throwing psi-balls and energy everywhere, perhaps killing someone. Then the child would be scarred for life. Children that young don't think about the repercussions of their actions.

Some children do have those kinds of abilities... they don't need extra energy, just training. I don't think a psi-ball would work at much except a battery there... but I could be wrong.

My point exactly. Imagine a spoiled 4-year-old with pyrokinesis.
"I want that toy that she has."
"No, you can't have it. She's playing with it."
"I want it!" Then he sets the clothes of his mother and the little girl on fire.
Yeah, not a pretty picture.

*raises hand* I think I know what would happen! surprised

Depending on whether or not the child is a natural psionic (i.e.- an energy leech whee ) there'd be different effects. If the child isn't an energy leech, their body would recognize the energy passing through it as foreign and it wouldn't touch it. If you released the psi-ball into the child, it's body would simply release it into the air naturally. However if you held the psi-ball inside the child, it would still be under your control exactly as if the child weren't there and you were holding it in the air 3nodding

If the child does happen to be an energy leech, then the moment your psi-ball touches them it will be absorbed into its own energy. A fully-grown adult amount of energy inside of a baby will always have the same effect. The child will kick and scream wildly until it'd exhausted the extra energy. Do you have any idea how uncomfortable it is to absorb to much energy? Multiply that several fold.

You can't teach the baby to control psi energy until it's old enough to understand your english lessons ^^;;

Yes, I doubt the child would even be able to concentrate hard enough, even if you jump-started it. Besides, would a parent REALLY want a completely self-aware baby?

I sure wouldn't.

Depending on the amount of energy that may be dangerous also the nature of the energy the structure or intent of it and other factors. I mean if you broke all the wards on a child or something and you introduced them to the spiritual realms as a child then they would grow up very psychicly gifted but other wise I'm not sure. Sometimes being around others who are psychic or practicing for a while can bring it out in a person. Exposure to such things... can well bring tendencies out at a younger age.But I don't think that the energy ball would have the desired affect

Actually, that kinda happened to my nephew, only he was still in his mother's womb, and it wasn't in the form of a psi ball.

Both of his parents are vampires, and I think both are psi. I know my sister is, but I didn't get a chance to find out about his father, as my sister and he seperated before the kid was born.

He seems to have turned out alright, but people keep mentioning how aware he is of his surroundings... sweatdrop If he turns out really gifted, he will be my responsibility. It's really my fault that it happened, but don't ask why, okay? sweatdrop

edit: DrasBrisingr, you are a fan of the Inheretence Trilogy, aren't you? When does the third book come out?

Babys are psychic magnets, sponges, they absorb their atmosphere like it ain't nothin, so I urge you all to be careful what atmosphere you produce around babys.

A baby growing up with psi would be a REALLY bad idea. Even when the baby is in the womb, the mother would have to be SUPER careful, because the baby determines completely on the mother.
