Something softer than normal, with less screaming?
I'm dying to get my mom to get into Dir en grey, but not sure what song to go about with it.
Any suggestions?

Wait! Does she speak japanese?
Ain't afraid to die, Cage, Kodou, Drain Away, That's all I can think of at the moment. I know one song that you shouldn't let her listen to! *coughBERRYcough* haha

I was thinking along the lines of "Kodou", since there IS a scream in it somewhere... and let's be honest, you've got to show her that they DO scream, unless you're trying to get away with something. "Merciless Cult", "Taiyou no Ao", "THE III D EMPIRE", "Kodoku ni Shisu, Yue ni Kodoku.", "Raison d'Etre", and "Jesus Christ R'nR" is what I use to introduce Diru to people.

I think I'll show her the Yokan video. That way she hears the music, and sees them.
Any other video would kind of be hard to explain to her.

Yokan is good, but maybe something thats a little more recent would be better? or Aint Afraid to Die, Hotarubi, Kasumi, Jessica, Amber.....Macabre if she has the patience for it ninja
PVs..Yokan, Jessica Mr. Newsman, and Kasumi I suppose.

I'd like to apologize in advance if I offend anyone. I'm not trying to insult other people's judgment or anything.
I personally don't think songs like Kasumi, Amber, Macabre, The IIID Empire, etc are such good songs to let a mother listen to. Some of them, simply because of the titles, some of them because of the music. Unless your mother listens to some rock herself, keep in mind that what we think is 'soft' may not be what she thinks is 'soft'.
Yokan is a pretty good song for introductions. Probably not the best PV though. Unless she can handle men wearing makeup (I'm talking about the obvious males here - like Kyo and Die).
Maybe some recent material - Higeki wa me futa wo oroshita yasashiki utsu *takes a breath* is a lovely, mellow song. So are Itoshisa wa fuhai nitsuki and Embryo. Ain't Afraid to Die is also pretty good, although I know from experience that a lot of people don't adjust to Kyo's voice straight away. This sorta applies for a lot of their pre-sixUgly songs.
Just...whatever you do, don't show her the lyrics.

xp I showed her the Yokan PV, and she commented about how her hair is like Kyo's. She didn't comment about the make-up or anything, though. She went, "Do you like it?" "Yeah.." "Okay." And sort of went back to what she was doing. I think she would like Miyavi more, though. Him and his ADD.

I showed my mom the Yokan PV before. She didn't have much to say about it. She has no problem with the music though. I can sit here and play Dir en grey, or Gazette, and stuff like that and she'll listen to it. She's still not much of a fan though. I wouldn't want to show her the lyrics to any Diru music. >>

Why try to get her into their music, if she can't hear that Kyo actually does scream?? No reason to get someone into music they are NOT into xd
