Time was passing far too slowly for Tsunade, as far as she was concerned. She didn't want to rush her people from their healing of physical and emotional wounds, but things as they were, were very bad. They were weak and in desperate need of new and able ninjas to take over more missions to help with the rebuilding of the village.

But the way things were going, Tsunade feared that her village would do anything else but recover at the rate that they were going. Things were not good and they needed to change fast, but there wasn't much she could do now. All her jounin and chuunin were out on missions, the school had to be closed just to have the teachers step in and pull the extra weight.

She felt bad, in a way, for pushing her ninjas so hard, but right now was not a time for slacking. She glanced warily at the stack of papers that invaded the corner of her desk. Alright, not a time for slacking from her ninjas, she smiled. She would get to those affairs later. She had to figure out a way to help with the load her Leaves were carrying, and she was quickly losing options.

Iruka sighed heavily as he stepped back from his clean area. He grinned in pride at the nearly clean street. Though it was only one of many, the clean up was coming along nicely, in a month or so -- if everyone pulled their equal weight -- Konoha would once again resemble its former glory and beauty.

"Look out!" A large rock nailed him in the back of the head. He sighed again and turned a menacing look to the children giggling behind their little hands. Iruka smiled and picked up the rock.

"Why don't you play somewhere else -- where you won't hurt me." Iruka laughed, the children nodded their heads gleefully and snatched the rock from his hands before dashing off to safer places.

Iruka shook his head and rested his hands on his hips, just before another rock knocked him in the shoulder, hissing in surprise, he turned and was quickly scolded by one of the elderly for 'slacking off'. Assuring the old man that he was working, Iruka picked up his broom and continued his work, shaking his head in amusement as the old man walked away.

Shizune glanced at her master, shifting slightly in her spot next to the desk. Tsunade got the gesture, but said nothing as she frowned over a paper that lay harmlessly on her desktop. She sighed and pulled back, leaning comfortable in her chair as she turned a questioning glance at Shizune.

"Yes...?" She drawled, smiling softly at her apprentice. Shizune shook her head, but then decided against it and spoke anyway.

"Should you have ninja making peace-treaties with the other nations?" Shizune asked. Sighing, Tsunade sat straighter in her chair and nodded in agreement.

"I should, but at the moment, there aren't enough ANBU or jounin ninja to spare. All the chuunin are working on cleaning up the village as it is..." Tsunade raised one hand to her left temple and rubbed gently.

She glared at her desk, "The village is in disarray and the people are just barely recovering. Making those treaties now is best... but I can't possible risk sending anyone at the moment. My concern is the safety of the village, yes... but... argh." Tsunade growled heavily and slumped against her desk, the Hokage Hat slipping off the corner and hitting the floor.

Shizune reached down and picked it up, worryingly she placed it back on the desk and gave the pig down beside her a sad soft grimace.

Breathing heavily through his nose, Iruka tumbled to the ground near one of the reconstructed buildings and rested in its shadow. A calloused, tan hand reached up to wipe away the offending sweat that was trailing down his forehead and cheeks. He blew gently through his mouth, trying to slow his racing heart.

"Tired already, Iruka-sensei?" Iruka glanced up from the stone floor at one of the fathers he recognized from a parent-conference. He smiled slightly, he missed being a teacher.

"No, not yet thankfully, just taking a breather." Iruka answered. Truly he wasn't tired, he was just worried. Tsunade had assured him that Naruto and Sasuke were fine, an Sakura was in little harm, but that didn't stop him from worrying about his ex-students.

"Well, the avenues are nearly finished. All that's left are the four main streets and some of the buildings." The father said, leaning against his broom stick, Iruka noticed that the man was breathing somewhat harder than he should have been.

Iruka frowned, "Thank you, Mikai-san. Perhaps you should take a break too." Mikai nodded and gave a weak 'sure' before trudging off, probably to greet his wife at home. Iruka frowned and shook his head.

'These people are working so hard to repair this village... they don't even know that they're suffering from exhaustion.' Iruka's eyes scanned the crowd of villagers still on the street. Rasping out a sigh, Iruka stood and went to relief some of them for a break.

At the sound of his name being hollered from a distance, Iruka glanced up from his conversation and turned around to find the source of the disturbance. Chuckling in amusement at his former student's predicament, Iruka tapped the shoulder of one of the men beside him.

"Yeah?" The man questioned, looking up from his large lunch.

Iruka smiled winningly, "Would you mind if I had that other sandwich?" The man shook his head and handed said sandwich off to the academy teacher. Thanking him, Iruka strode forward a ways and waved to Naruto.

"Over here, Naruto-kun!" Then with a sharp, quick whistle, Iruka flashed the sandwich above his head and threw it hard enough to land behind Naruto and in the dogs' path.

'Let's hope that works.' Iruka thought with a grin.

((Yay! First post for Ryo!))

(Ryo Yo)

A fire-red head of about seventeen stared up at the cieling of his room with his hands placed underneathe his head. He was staring at a picture of his parents and him when he was about seven years old. This was his absolute favorite picture.

He could remember that day clearly, but he didn't want to go into that memory right now. Right now, he had something more important to do. He had to help clean up the village some more. He had to do it for himself, and for his parents.

He sighed as he sat up and swung his legs over the side of his bed. He was already dressed and ready to go outside and help since he had been up earlier. He had cleaned up the house a little and found Trouble, his pet chameleon, in the kitchen camouflaged against the foresty green wall.

He slowly got up out of the bed and looked around at the other pictures of his parents that he had in there. He put on a smile and began walking towards the door of his room to participate in another day of cleaning up the village.

He opened his door and closed it as he began walking towards the kitchen. He didn't remember to let go of the doorhandle and fell backwards onto his back. He groaned as he stared at the cieling and shook his head. He did that almost every day. Why did he never remember to let go?

He got back up carefully so he wouldn't hit his head on the door handle and, once again, walked towards the kitchen. This time without falling. He walked into the kitchen and grabbed a cup out of a nearby cupboard and walked over to the sink to get some water. Once his cup was full of water, he took a couple drinks before setting it down.

He walked over to the backdoor and opened it. He moved his head to the right to avoid being hit by the blinds that were on it. He walked out into the sun and covered his eyes for a moment. He rolled the sleeves down on his shirt as he grabbed the broom that was nearby. Now he was ready for sure to go and help.

He walked around his house to the front and headed down one of the streets. This street was almost cleared away, but there was still some stuff that needed to be cleared. A great majority of the bigger stuff was already taken away. He found an area that he could start cleaning and began doing so without hesitation.

(First post..)

A young blonde boy crouched on a roof-top with a hammer and nails in each hand. His face was screwed up into a look of utmost concentration, and just as he positioned a nail and raised up the hammer to strike it, an older voice yelled up and shattered his concentration. "Hey kid! You're doing it all wrong!" Jeiden happened to be terrible at multi-tasking, which became obvious when he turned his head towards the worker and brought the hammer down on his finger at the same time. Tears formed in the corners of his eyes as he resisted a powerful urge to leap down and beat the construction worker senseless, "Y-y-yes?" He called back, stammering slightly with pain.

"You're using the wrong type of nails, those are for floor repair." The construction worker held up a pack of the correct nails. Jeiden was now shaking with fury, he dropped the hammer and nails, which slid off the slanted roof and hit the ground. "Ya know what? This information would have been helpful BEFORE I REPAIRED HALF THE DAMN ROOF!" His voice shifted from a deadly whisper to a loud yell, making some of the other workers stare at him in amusement. "Look..." The offending worker began, his voice calm, "The roof won't hold with those nails in place, you're going to have to rip them all up and start again. Or else we won't pay you." Jeiden's fists were balled, but the worker knew he had said the magic words (Won't pay you).

With a loud sigh, Jeiden's shoulders drooped, showing a sign of defeat. "Toss me that hammer." The worker picked up Jeiden's dropped hammer and tossed it to him. "Ah well...this is buying me several meals at my favorite steakhouse..." Jeiden smirked to himself as he began ripping up nails he had only just pounded into the wood.

((Yay ^^ Posting...))

Eden wiped her forehead as she stood up. She'd been helping to repair a building close to her apartment, and she'd just finished fixing the holes in the floor. The other workers waved her goodbye, and she nodded back to them and left.

'It's getting late... and I still haven't eaten... Well, Ichiraku's close, might as well go there...' Eden thought, walking down the street to the ramen resturant.
