1. Do not post here unless you are one of the following:
~ Reyna Crelos
~ AthanShade
~ another Fiend guardian
~ someone with permission from me

2. Please do not ask to buy my Shadow Fiend.
She is not for sale. Go stalk the Shadow Fiend thread.

3. Please do not ask me if/when wisps are available.
I have no clue. Go stalk the Shadow Fiend thread.

4. Please don't be offended by IC actions.
They are bound to say and do offensive things (Savvy in particular), but know that this is meant solely in-character. I really don't want to upset anyone!

5. Please don't use information contained here unless your character has learned it ICly!
OOC ≠ IC. While I'm flattered that people actually read this stuff, if you really want to use something mentioned here, wait for a chance for your character to learn it or talk to me and we'll come up with something!

6. Please don't be afraid to PM me.
About anything! Want RP? Awesome, so do I! Have I upset you somehow? Let me know so I won't do it again! PM is the fastest and easiest way to reach me, and my inbox is always open.

~~~
The Shadow Fiend concept, background, and artwork (c) Reyna Crelos. No stealy. This particular Fiend is mine. No stealy. Not that you'd want to steal Savvy, srsly.
Gemstone: Tsavorite
Nickname: Savvy
Physical Age: 10
General Height: ~4’6”
Eye Color: Fuchsia, with black sclera and no discernible pupils.
Primary Skin Color: Green! Lime-ish green.
Markings: Swirls surrounding her stone and dots under her eyes, both in fuchsia.
Hair: Purple, very, very long. There's a small braid behind her right ear, and except for a few strands towards the front, the ends are bound with a fuschia ribbon. And she has bangs!
Occupation: Mischief Maker (hey, she’s only a kid!)
Likes: Darkness, gemstones, pretty things, organized chaos, being in control
Dislikes: Isolation, fear, light, looking anything but her best, taking direction from others
Personality: Savvy is not nice. She is not particularly spiteful, but she does get her kicks by playing tricks on other people, and seldom cares about the consequences. She doesn't aim to hurt people specifically, but she does enjoy seeing their reactions. Causing mass chaos is her forte (or so she thinks), and also her greatest source of pleasure. She does spend a lot of time plotting ways to cause trouble, much to the dismay of her bond. Her goal is to inspire fear rather than pain, and while she plays her game relatively well and takes winning it seriously, she does hold a shred of respect for her opponents, namely those who don't scare easily. She can't stand idiots, which to her is most people. While she may not appear to be at first glance, Savvy is quite clever- while hardly a genius, she is good at what she does, and the logic that balances Ying's passion. One of the few traits they share is vanity- Savvy loves to be praised (to her, shrieks of terror count) and always has to look presentable, though she won't go to the extent that Ying does to make herself so. Generally, Savvy holds herself above others regardless of age or ability, and it's a rare person she'll submit to. Now, if only she'd use her powers for good... (HI this needs updating but I am tired of putting other things off until I get to it so it’ll do for now)
Abilities: Big long description is on the other computer, see here for basics. At this point, aside from general Fiendish abilities, the only thing she has consciously discovered how to do is Steal Plague.
Quick Description: Sly, clever, selfish, vain, overconfident
Name: Ying Satourne
Age: 7 (physically 16)
Gender: Female
Race: Jumi
Hair: Purple
Eyes: Magenta
Markings: None, save for the big pink rock in her chest
Occupation: Jumi of Raspberry Garnet (effectively unemployed)
Likes: Shopping, gemstones, pretty and/or girly things, karaoke, making friends
Dislikes: Nightmares, cold weather, slimy things, birds, solitude
Personality: Generally, Ying is a happy, peppy, passionate person. She’s open and talkative with anyone who’ll allow her to be (and many people who wish she’d go away), and cares deeply even about people she barely knows. To those looking for a friend, she’s always there with advice or a hug or a fun outing, whatever she feels best suits the situation. When none of the above quite applies, she’s always willing to listen and- for a change- not say anything. She does her best to accentuate the positive and emphasize that the glass is half-full, and the sun’ll come out tomorrow. If she believes it, you should too!
When she’s alone, however, Ying behaves very differently. She finds it difficult to maintain her high levels of energy and optimism when there’s nobody else* around to benefit from them. While she encourages people to talk about what’s bothering them, she never seeks out others to perform this service for her. She keeps her negative emotions bottled up until they force themselves out, with unpleasant and often painful results. Even she isn’t sure why she does this, but when asked about her life, it’s rare for her to admit to unhappiness. Either she genuinely believes that everything is sunshine and roses, or she desperately wants to.
*Yes, Tsavorite is always around, but she doesn’t especially enjoy Ying’s social attitude, which is one reason her good humor takes a nosedive when they’re left alone.
History: Nobody is quite sure how or why Jumi cores started making their way to Gaia, but Ying was never too concerned with the details. It was enough for her that she ended up with a wonderful (and large) family, and was still able to return to Etansel to see others of her kind. Even her bonding with Tsavorite didn’t stop her from being constantly content, and her life to that point felt like one long holiday.
That began to change when the Clarius, the leader of the Jumi race, was turned to stone. Aside from being an important figure, Crystal was also Ying’s friend, and she took this event badly. She and the other Jumi tried to figure out how to fix things, but their research came to an abrupt halt when the statue of Crystal was stolen. Out of leads and seemingly out of hope, Ying fell into a deep depression. Only after one of Tsavorite’s games landed her in the hospital was she able to get the help she didn’t realize she needed. At that point, she decided that she needed to take drastic action, though for what she hasn’t said. To that end, she’s been roaming Fa’Diel for the past couple of years, looking everywhere for any kind of hint. So far, she’s come up empty-handed, but her efforts weren’t totally in vain; she’s a much stronger and more resilient person than she was when she left.
Having hit a proverbial wall in Fa’Diel, Ying decided to return to Gaia to clear her head, as well as to see if she can find any helpful information. She is also looking for her family, the members of which seem to have picked up and moved on while she and Tsavorite were off-world.
Abilities: Ying, like all Jumi, is able to sense others of her kind without seeing them. This also allows her to identify Jumi cores and differentiate them from normal gemstones. Her range is about ten meters, but this can be increased somewhat if she’s concentrating. The sense only informs Ying of the presence and general direction of another Jumi- she can’t identify specific people, and if there’s a crowd, she needs visual confirmation to accurately find the person (or core) she’s looking for.
Supposedly, Ying has the healing powers of a Jumi Guardian, however she has yet to manifest these. She can, however, navigate the tree that connects Gaia and Fa’Diel. For most people who use it, the destination is random, but Ying and other Jumi, as well as those who travel with them, can be transported directly to Etansel. She is also an empathic receiver, able to process and understand empathic projections made by others, but she cannot project her own feelings to others (except for Tsavorite, who really wishes that she couldn’t do that much).
Physiology: Jumi are very similar to humans in appearance, with one notable difference: at the center of their chests are large gemstones known as cores. The shapes and sizes vary somewhat, though most are round and polished, and roughly the size of a baseball. The cores function much like the human heart in that they are the center from which life (and in the case of Guardians, magic) flows forth. If a Jumi’s core is scratched or cracked, the Jumi becomes ill or injured; if the core breaks or is removed, the Jumi dies. Minor injuries can be healed by Jumi Guardians, and if a Jumi dies but their core is still whole, they can be revived by the Clarius.
Other: Ying swings a mean staff; she was coached by her friend Yeine, a Jedi Apprentice, and has had plenty of practice during the course of her travels. While she’s not going to be winning any awards or defeating well-trained opponents, she can defend herself from ordinary humans and low-level monsters without too much effort.
Quick Description: Cheerful, caring, social, emotional, repressed
Pretty, hm? Being a wisp wasn't terribly fun, but at least I looked good.
Much better. It's so much easier to break into things when one has arms.
Trust no one! Though some people aren't too bad...
(Agh this needs updating. Aside from the obvious [Reyna, Mystic, Athan] and Chrys and Demare. I can't remember who they've met. Clearly a sign I need more RP.)
A glossary of terms relating to Jumi and the world they come from:
Jumi-Specific
Jumi: A race of humanoids with gemstone cores embedded in their chests, native to Fa’Diel. See “Physiology” in Ying’s profile for more information.
Guardian: A Jumi job class. Guardians have no fighting skills to speak of, but excel in magic- specifically, they have great healing abilities.
Knight: A Jumi job class. Knights can fight with many different weapons, and some are even capable of magic, but they have no healing abilities.
Pair: A duo consisting of a Knight and a Guardian. The Knight protects the Guardian, while the Guardian heals the Knight’s wounds.
Partner: A Guardian’s Knight, or a Knight’s Guardian. Partners can be chosen consciously, but pairings can also be formed without the Jumi’s awareness. A Jumi can only have one partner at a time, but may find a new one if their old partner dies or is otherwise unavailable.
Strata: A rank system for Jumi. The four strata from lowest to highest are Clods, Half-Lucidia, Lucidia, and Clarius. It is unclear what these ranks represent or how one ascends in strata at this time.
Clarius: The highest stratum; there is only one Jumi pair at this rank at any given time. Also a term used to address the Guardian of this pair, who functions as a leader of the race. Only the Clarius can revive fallen Jumi and give life to Jumi cores. The current Clarius was turned to stone and is missing at present.
Locations
Fa’Diel: A world parallel to Gaia, accessible through a large tree in Barton East. Its level of technology is lower than that of Gaia, but use of magic there is more widespread. Otherwise it is similar to Gaia, with a number of towns, outlying rural areas, and something of a monster problem.
Etansel: The ancestral home of the Jumi, also known as the Bejeweled City. It has been abandoned since the Clarius has gone missing, and has fallen into disrepair.
Geo: The largest city in Fa’Diel, home of a number of shops and libraries, the Palace of the Arts, and the famed Academy of Magic.
Miscellaneous
Mana: The primal energy of the world of Fa’Diel, similar to chi, ki, etc. It is said that Mana flows in everything, though some sources are more plentiful than others.
Mana Tree: Supposedly a manifestation of the Mana Goddess’ power. Definitely a source of great magic. Possibly related to the tree in East Barton that acts as a portal to Fa’Diel.
Mana Goddess: The creatrix of Fa’Diel, or so it’s told. Appears in a number of legends and an equal number of oaths and curses, but hasn’t been seen by anyone currently living.
Elemental Spirits: Peaceful creatures who are manifestations of Mana. There are eight different types of spirits, which correspond with various elements. They tend to live in isolation near sources of their element, but they are fond of music and will favor those who play for them with gifts. In rare cases they may even be coaxed from hiding by an exceptional tune. The six days of the week in Fa’Diel take their names from elemental spirits.
Monsters: There are a large number of monster species in Fa’Diel. They tend to be hostile to humans, but occasionally monsters may seek to join strong people they come across. A monster raised from an egg will be docile around humans and can even fight against other monsters.
Tsavorite Properties
History
In 1967, British gem prospector and geologist Dr. Campbell R. Bridges discovered a deposit of green grossular in the mountains of north-east Tanzania in a place called Lemshuko, 15 km away from Komolo, the first village. The specimens he found were of very intense color and of high transparency. The find interested the gem trade, and attempts were made to export the stones, but the Tanzanian government did not provide permits. Believing that the deposit was a part of a larger geological structure extending possibly into Kenya, Bridges began prospecting in that nation. He was successful a second time in 1971, when he found the mineral variety there, and was granted a permit to mine the deposit. The gemstone was only known to mineral specialists until 1974, when Tiffany and Co launched a marketing campaign which brought broader recognition of the stone. The name tsavorite was proposed by Tiffany and Co president Sir Henry Platt in honor of Tsavo National Park in Kenya. Apart from the source locality in Tanzania it is also found in Toliara (Tuléar) Province, Madagascar, but so far, no other occurrences of gem material have been discovered.
Identification
Chemical formula: Ca3Al2Si3O12
Color: Light to deep green
Crystal system: cubic
Mohs scale hardness: 7 - 7.5
Specific gravity: 3.60–3.68
Optical properties: Single refractive
Refractive index: 1.740
Dispersion 0.028 [2]
Physical
"A stone of health", extracting negative energies from the chakras, and helping to distribute the appropriate amount of positive energy to each part of the body. Tsavorite can enhance our levels of fertility and helps with disorders of the senses i.e. hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch. It increases the flow of energy throughout all the meridians and stimulates kidney energy, and stimulates the immune system, pituitary and thyroid. Tsavorite can be used as a gentle pain reliever, and sometimes to treat eye problems.
Mental/Emotional
All types of garnets are called the "stone of commitment", to our life's purpose, to other people and to ourselves, and Tsavorite helps us with this. In addition, it also helps us to transform our most base and lower form of response into a reply containing much more love and consideration. A brilliant green form of Garnet, Tsavorite is known for its ability to strengthen the physical body, promoting energy, courage, self-confidence, self-respect, and strength, allowing one to accomplish whatever goal they choose. It inspires the ideal of service, strengthens our stability in the face of a challenge, and helps us to realize that each person is the ruler of his or her own destiny, and that that destiny must be reached with love in our hearts and minds. Tsavorite is a stone that helps us to "know ourselves".
Spiritual
Tsavorite enhances our ability to channel. In particular it assists us to make contact with the ancient Egyptian and Greek Gods and to receive information from them on learning, prudence, magic and wisdom. Tsavorite also helps to produce visions during meditation although these are more usually "sensed" rather than "seen". Tsavorite is believed to protect from bad dreams if placed under a pillow, and centuries ago it was believed to keep demons at bay. In addition to increased physical strength and energy, Tsavorite is thought to improve imagination and intuition, protect against poisoning, repel insects, and provide relief for irritated skin. The energy produced by this gem stabilizes disorder, mentally and physically. Tsavorite not only affects the energy of the person wearing it or carrying it beneficially, but also other people nearby.
