"You are accosted by a cloth-winged fairy who is in dire need of energy and has determined that she can get the energy she needs in your presence, should you choose to accept her. If you do not, she will die."___Uenoh'ai looked up from her research work and paused the scratching of her pen to look at the demanding figure in front of her. Looking over at the plant to her right she studied the pigmentation of the leaves and turned back to her journal. The small fairy stomped her foot and walked angrily over the papers. Swinging back a foot she let it loose and caught Uennie's fingers in a blow. Wincing, the larger person dropped the pen and cursed loudly. She made a face and looked at the person in front of her. She had sworn that the entire thing must have been a result of her over-working in the Laboratory again. She heard a rustle to the side and quickly looked to the plant again. It stood still, but wasn't that bloom bigger? She had been hoping for so long for progress but it seemed that she wasn't going to gain it anytime soon. Frustrated and close to the breaking point, she rubbed her face with her hands and gave her attention back to the thing in front of her.
___"Neawugh-" She cleared her throat and coughed, "Now, you need what exactly?"
___"Allow me to receive energy from you, if you please." She added the please quickly as an afterthought. The Researcher took a deep breath and looked back over at the plant. She wondered if taking on something else wouldn't add stress and result in the plant stalling in development even more. She realized that the thing was still talking and she looked back down.
___"What was it you were saying before you kicked me?" She interrupted. The little woman seemed annoyed at the abrupt cut-off in the middle of her speech.
___"I will die unless you do." She said through her teeth, not very impressed with the large wingless creature. Uennie raised her eyebrows and nodded her head slightly, considering the idea.
___"Do you enjoy plants?" She said after a moment. The fairy looked at her as though she were insane. "I like them very much." Uenoh'ai said softly, obviously lost in her own thoughts again. Remembering the little person on her papers she said thoughtfully, "How do you fly with those. They're cloth aren't they?"
___"Well that's a stupid question I just-" The fairy started icily before trailing off. She'd never thought of that before, she just
had.
___"I'm sure dissection could find the answer to that." The blonde and blue haired creature looked up at the human reproachfully, suddenly realizing that she really
was in a Laboratory. She stepped backwards and she heard the person laugh.
___"It's not as funny as you may think it is, I'm sure." She snapped, flushing when she figured out that the woman was teasing her.
___"Oh, perhaps not to you." Uenoh'ai rested her head on her hand and smiled. "Yes, of course I will. I could never turn something in need down."
___"Of course you wouldn't ..." The winged being muttered.
___"What's your name?" Uennie reached down and picked her pen up from the floor to begin taking notes again.
___"Ixchel." She responded sharply, moving closer to inspect the plant the person seemed so worried about.
___"Hach kiichpan, maasima?" The Botanist said softly as she continued writing.
___"La." Ixchel responded, touching the terracotta pot gently.
