Odainsaker had ventured out into the cold winter's night not sure how much she actually wanted to venture out. She'd brought a soft white shawl with her because while the magical aspect offered her warmth, she still got a bit chilly plus she just felt more decent in winter having something else to wear instead of just her body suit.
Surely people wouldn't judge right? The squire hummed as she walked down the street looking to see if she could feel any auras of hopefully someone familiar though not knowing who she was looking for. She was just knew she was looking for someone.
There was a moment when she detoured to pick up a hot chocolate from a street vendor before returning to her walk the warm drink in hand sipping as she walked and hummed. She did notice, however the wind seemed to be just starting to pick up as she walked which she thought was a bit weird.
Biting Chill ( 18 ) : The cold is strangely harsh, and even the still wind is vicious enough to sting. But the cold isn't the worst part of tonight--it's what comes with it. Out of a swirl of blowing snow, a massive, wispy wolf takes shape, enormous and snarling, with fur spiked like jagged icicles. Its eyes glow with a cold, wild intelligence, and before you can even react, it lunges as though you’ve trespassed deep into its territory. Every strike it makes feels like the bite of winter itself. Wherever its claws slash, wherever its jaws snap, frost cakes over. Even if you're lucky enough not to take massive damage, the cold seeps bone deep. When you manage to land a hit, the creature bleeds a strange, clear blood--icy water that freezes instantly into slush on the ground. The more damage it takes, the more its form flickers, shredded like wind-torn snow. The wolf fights with the relentless instinct of a dire beast, but it is not invulnerable. It will never run. It will fight until its body is broken and flickering, then--finally--a sudden gust will rip through the air and carry its dissolving body away. Howls echo on the wind. The rest of its pack probably isn't too far behind.
Note: This strange wolf is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to meet battle requirements. You can use the prompt for as many characters as you like and it will count as a battle requirement, however if you repeat the prompt with the same character, only the first time will be usable as a battle.

There was a friendly energy signature, and it was drawing nearer at a rapid clip.
It would have been nice for Joy to chalk up her paranoia to some sort of well-honed sixth sense. But it was probably more the case that she, expecting to find danger and disgusting bullshit around every corner, inevitably sometimes did.
She had been about to sing out a greeting when she recognized the knight - despite her new shawl - gathering up her skirts to pick up her pace and altering her words accordingly.
"Well, well, well! Hello again. Where's my hot chocolate? Always nice to run into a friend when -"
She stopped as she drew near, shivering abruptly. It felt like a good time to reach for her weapon. Just in case. There was something about the way the air was moving that felt very ominous.
When she heard a friendly voice she looked up and grinned, "Joy~!" She said with a chuckle, "Oh, I didn't know you'd be here but I can go back and get you a hot chocolate if you'd like~!"
There was a pause and a shiver when she felt the wind. She pulled her arrows from her subspace but paused looking at the arrows that seemed warped to her. "Oh... that's weird." She didn't have much time to think though as the wind howled and she turned facing a .... pair of eyes?
"Ohhh hellll, Joy are you seeing this?"
Odain asked almost already knowing the earth knight probably seen the wolf as it showed it's whispy form. Before she could move the wolf swiped at her, she tried to point her arrow at it hoping she could get it to back off.

"Unfortunately I am," she said sharply, backing up enough to get in a crack of the whip in. A bolt of light erupted from the lash, in the shape of a lance that hurtled at the wolf and landed with an audible thud, knocking the wolf back a little to buy Odainsaker some space to get prepared.
"I swear to god, you can't even have a hot chocolate in Destiny City without dealing with this Bullshit -" she said, exasperated as she tried to fall back again. "Do you have anything useful for this?"
Did she have something useful for this? Odain looked at her hot chocolate, which was still piping hot and debated between trying to use her weapon to blind the wolf or.... throw her hot chocolate on it. She retreated quickly watching the creature though when Joy bought her some time.
"Not reallyyy but I guess sacrifices must be made." She pulled the lid off her hot chocolate and dashed it at the beast the next time it came close to her. "I can try to blind it but you'd need to cover your eyes or be further back." The squire was not a huge fan of how her attack worked and since her arrows seemed like the warped she wasn't sure if they'd still work well or not.

Joy did not need asking twice. Darting a distance away from the now-irritable wolf, she turned her back - but not before giving the whip another crack, sending out a flurry of floral vines that wrapped around the creature's icy legs, effectively preventing it from pursuit.
"Go ahead then," she prompted, with the imperious air of someone delivering an order.
Odain nodded when Joy retreated and held the creature with vines. The squire summoned a bow of energy and fired off the arrow into the sky watching it for a moment make it's way wobbling up into the sky which was unusual. It seemed to fizzle out, and not want to set off the bright flash.
The squire froze for a moment thinking that wasn't good as she turned her attention back to the beast. Suddenly the blast of bright light went off and Odain blinked owlishly for a moment before moving quickly out of reach of the wispy snow wolf that howled in frustration.
"Oi Joy your turn~!" She called as the squire shifted wondering what was up with the arrows. When the one she'd shot off had returned to her, still looking warped.
Squire: Bamboo Arrows with Star Shaped Heads
At this stage Odain's Arrow's have a vaguely pointed star shaped arrow heads, basically everything's slightly rounded off instead of sharp and pointy; at this level she has bamboo arrows that can still break but not as easily as the reed arrows. Odain can throw the arrows, bonk someone on the head with them or shoot them using her Bow.
Magic: Odain can aim her arrow up into the air and shoot her arrow. At this point it looks like a shooting star/firework flying into the air, when it reaches a midpoint the arrow bursts into a bright blinding light that covers a radius of 15 foot. With in this radius anyone in the 10 foot radius of the light burst are temporarily blinded; anyone further than 10 foot range from temporary blindness* to seeing stars for a short time after the light burst. Vision starts to slowly come back after the burst of light has ended and is fully back with in 10 seconds** from the end of the light burst. (The Light burst at it's longest can last 30 seconds. Or Odain can choose to break it up in shorter bursts depending on her need.
*Temporary blindness is considered if the target(s) aren't wearing eye protection such as sun glasses - if sun glasses are worn effects are lessened **10 seconds: is the longest recovery time if a character was closest to the light burst.

She was already, in fact, in the process of turning back, and moving briskly, assayed another sharp crack of the whip. The sound, like a gunshot, ricocheted off the nearby buildings, hardly muffled by the blanket of snow, and sent out another bolt of light that caught the now-quite-helpless wolf in the chest, earning a yelp that sounded more like the screaming of wind in a blizzard, and was then swept away and became a part of the air itself.
Joy, hesitating warily as if expecting a sudden rally, relaxed after a few seconds, bouncing the whip in her hand as the vines receded and vanished. She then scrubbed her hand across her eyelids in evident annoyance.
"Destiny City owes you a hot chocolate, I think," she said after a moment, attempting to put more cheer into her voice than she felt. "And probably, like, a few uninterrupted strolls in the city without being beset by - oh - rotten chickens and gargoyles and dogs made of snow - that sort of thing, if I had to guess, but we both know that's never going to happen. But in lieu of that, shall I buy you a replacement, since now I could really go for one too? I even have some stuff to spike it with, if you like." She, clearly, was planning on doing so. "You can let me know how Neona's doing, if you don't mind too terribly."
Odainsaker watched as wolf became part of the air again and left. She was looking around as if expecting there to be a pack of them after that one, usually lone wolves weren't a thing right?
However, she was glad that it seemed it was a thing this time. "I really think the City needs to start a lost food fund due to monster encounters."
There was a dry tone to her answer but a chuckle followed, "Yes uninterrupted strolls would be nice, maybe some sort of spell or ward or something to give you the night off from the weird bullshit that happens."
There was a nod when Joy offered to replace her hot chocolate, "I'd like that!" Even the offer to spike the hot chocolate was not dismissed as it may help with the chill a bit, "Certainly! I also need to go back and visit her again soon."
Odain was thinking about her weapon acting weird, and tagged alongside Joy nattering away about how Neona was doing and how things were going on the wonder.
