[Thursday, over one month after their return from Paldea.]
It was a quiet day, not much going on inside the hidden headquarters of Team Snagem. That was however until Sub received a message from a certain individual back in Paldea. It was from Clavell, the director of Uva-Naranja Academy. It was their final confirmation that Clavell is giving the Indigo Alliance sanctioned approval of Team Snagem and thus, finally, earning Team Snagem the official sanction of the entire alliance, that is giving them permission to operate in all alliance regions without limitations. They were free, finally free, no more extra hoops to jump through just to keep the team on the straight and narrow. While Sub never saw why he should grovel before the world governments there were those in the team that thought they should go straight and keep the sanctioning so he went along with it, begrudgingly, though now that they had it the Snagem leader was positively ecstatic. No more Mudbray kissing for this man!
Before he jumped to his feet in celebration he decided to read the last of the email and took note of something else, a gift. As thanks for all Team Snagem did for the academy concerning the 'incident', that is Team Star and the strange fungus, Clavell has invited them to join an academy delegation on a trip to the region of Kitakami to partake in the Festival of Masks celebration over the weekend. In his email was all the information for plane tickets and accommodations even, all paid for.
[Thursday, around lunch time.]
"And that's what we're being offered, a two day stay in Kitakami as part of the Uva-Naranja Academy's cultural exchange with the region, to partake in the Festival of Masks. To put it into Clavell's words the vacation we never got, even if for just two days." Sub explained to the Snagems he gathered in the main area of HQ, a couple hours after he got the email, just to confirm the information and let people become active for the day. "In fact, Kitakami isn't that far from here." He pointed out, then looking to his teammates to see their reactions. "So...anyone want to check out Kitakami and the Festival of Masks? If you do the bus leaves from Cerulean City this evening...yes, a bus, and it's a ten hour drive by bus. But...it's free...?" He chuckled nervously.
(OOC: Kitakami is known as a backwoods region connected to the 'Japan' regions of the Pokemon world, those being Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. That said it is still remote to them and while the people of these regions are aware of Kitakami even they see little reason to visit the place, people from Kitakami essentially 'hicks'. Furthermore as we roleplay in the region I want to make clear that no one in-universe knows the truth about Ogrepon or the Loyal Three. So no having your characters sympathizing with what is known to the universe as essentially an evil ogre that murdered three innocent Pokemon in cold blood. And even then because of Kitakami's remoteness I can't see any of our characters being aware of this extremely local folklore.)

Tsuki, having heard about Snagem’s sanction to operate legally in the other regions over a call, had his interest rise at the mention of going to the little backwoods area known as Kitakami. Plus, a vacation with the others? Because he had never seen how their vacations tend to almost always invariably go, he thought that was just a fun idea. He would have to beg his current channeling master Raiden for a break in order to go but eventually the man would give in.
“Please.”
“No.”
“Please?”
“No?”
“C’mon!”
“Tsuki! We can’t just stop because you want to take a vacation.” Raiden said, exasperated.
The teenager clapped his hands together. “Pleeaaaaaase? I barely got to see my old friends because they all split up when they were in Paldea.” He asked one final time, eyes blinking oh so quickly. Raiden groaned, gave in, and told him to be back the moment they returned. It had been barely a week since his trip to One Island and he didn’t want his student to keep looking like a kicked Lillipup. Tsuki leapt at and hugged his master before booking it out of the forest atop his hoverboard with Maggie in tow.
“Wait…” He said to himself while in the air. Mt. Silver was far. So Tsuki instead employed Claydol to get him to his dorm over in Naranja Academy first. Once there, he’d change into some “vacation” clothes (read: an Alolan style tourist shirt, shorts, and a pair of neon green shutter shades he had yoinked from his cousin Allen), and throw together some other things in a luggage. After that was all together, he fiddled on his laptop to select what Pokemon he’d have for the trip, deciding to leave Terra at home to train his less experienced dragon and bird that he had both gotten little over a month ago. He had gotten one from that battlefield with the Titan Arboliva who it had been stealing olive oil from and the other from an egg Clavell had given him.
Tsuki more or less arrived right around lunch time, gasping for air after running around like a Torchic with its head cut off for the better part of all morning and slid to a stop just in time for Sub to relay the travel plans to the others. The Magby on his shoulder, wearing a neon pink set of shutter shades, gave a thumbs up at the idea of a vacation. “Mag-bybyby.” She added.
“What… she said.” After his morning, a ten hour nap was what he needed anyway.

Lykas and Odd both shook their heads at Sub's explanation. "As much as we'd like to go, I'm pretty sure Libelle won't handle a bus ride like that very well. She's too young, still." Lykas replied.
"I agree, actually. Besides, she kinda came to us right in the middle of everything going on in Paldea... I think we should stay here and spend some time letting her get used to her new life around HQ." Odd remarked, nodding in agreement with Lykas. "Besides, if anything happens, you can easily have Claydol pick one of us up to help out if you need us."
"Hopefully nothing happens. We all need a break from the crazy we run into and the last attempt turned into a giant mess." Lykas remarked with a laugh. "But Odd's right. Just call if you need either of us. It'll be easier to leave her with someone to watch her if we're here, anyway. Oh and if he didn't tell you, Wren's away visiting his parents so he won't be joining at the moment, either."
~~~At the Bus Station~~~
Clare wouldn't be seen until the other Snagems arrived at he Cerulean City bus station, sitting on one of the benches with a duffel bag at their feet and a small purple Pokemon bouncing happily around it. "Spoink! Spoi-oink!" It cried cheerfully as M&M ran opposite directions around it, clearly entertaining the small Pokemon.
They would wave in greeting to the other Snagems as they arrived, a long ballroom-style glove on their one good hand and a long sleeve carefully tied at the forearm on their other one. Hadn't it been broken off at the middle of their bicep when the titan Klawf damaged them? "Hello, everyone! I was so happy to hear the rest of you had been invited to come!" They smiled happily upon seeing the remainder of the team arriving, standing up so they'd be more visible as the gathering Snagems grew in number.
"Yeah, hard pass," I said, shutting down the idea right away, or so I thought. "Paldea wasn't our first attempt at taking a proper vacation as a team, and this, what? Kimakati place? It won't be the last. Face it, the team's cursed. We're better off owning it and focusing on doing our thing."
Keiko, naturally, had other plans. "I've never known you to believe in curses before. Or anything like it. Hell, you make fun of Alola for worshipping the Tapu. Besides, what's wrong with going somewhere to relax? We never leave HQ outside of work anymore." she pointed out.
"Just because they're absurdly powerful doesn't mean they're mentally fit to rule," I insisted. I'd been adamantly against the idea of having a government led by a Pokemon ever since I heard Alola was doing that. Having gotten that off my chest, though, I calmed down a bit. "Anyway, you're right. I'm blowing this situation out of proportion. You seem unusually interested in visiting this place, though," I pointed out. I'd reclaimed the Betyl Stone and reattuned to it recently, so I could sense the excitement she was hiding.
Of course, me asking that only turned her grin into a smile. "I heard all kinds of crazy stuff about Katakami, and this might be the only chance I'll get to see if any of it is true," she explained with a goofy grin on her face. "Besides, it might be a nice place to take Yuna when she gets older." I wanted to ask about that, but in a way, we'd already had this discussion. We teleported all over the planet for Snagem-related work,and it only made sense to use that - or specifically, use Rala's Teleport - to give our children some hands-on experience with the regions of the world. Or, well, at least the ones that the Pokemon League has officially recognized. No point in going to any they haven't. But yeah, Keiko enjoyed imagining Yuna wowing her friends with her knowledge of other regions once she was old enough to go to Pokemon Trainer's School.
"Alright. I'll watch Yuna so you can check this place out," I offered, but Keiko wasn't having any of it - she immediately turned to Lykas and Odd, who we both heard weren't going. "Hey, you two wouldn't mind watching Yuna for us, would you?" I wanted to protest, but could only get out "Keiko!" before she immediately looked back to me with a retort. 'Oh, come on! When's the last thing you and I did anything as a couple?"
I struggled to think of a response, but the only thing that came to mind was our honeymoon. Our first and so far only date took place during a mission. Hell, I proposed to her during a mission. The writing was on the wall. "Alright, alright. If they don't mind, I'll come with you."
Keiko let out a cute little "Yey!" before looking to our friends in hopes of getting their answer. Absinthe, meanwhile, was long gone. She was here, but she bailed the second she heard 'ten-hour-long bus trip'. Couldn't say I blamed her.
Lykas and Odd were still in the main room when Keiko and Terashi began talking, with little changing besides Mykel walking into the room and handing Libelle to Lykas.
"She just woke up. I think she's wet." He informed the hybrid, looking like he hated having to touch the infant at the moment.
"You'll have to get used to cleaning her up, sometime. You know you're our go-to nanny for now, right?" Lykas laughed at the Gardevoir's reaction.
"Gross. Why me?" Mykel demanded, crossing his arms indignantly.
"Because you can tell what she needs better than anyone with your abilities." Lykas replied, gving the Psychic-type a playful tap on the forehead.
It was at that point that Keiko asked if they minded watching Yuna. Before he could even respond, Odd had begun to speak. "As long as you don't mind a blind man watching your baby, I don't see a problem with it. We'll be keeping a close watch on Libelle anyway. No hard letting her make friends with the only other person her age around here for a couple of days. Just leave any special notes for her with Lykas and he'll make sure I know about it so I can help." the Gost Channeler replied, givin Keiko a smirk of his own. Her comments sounded all too familiar. It was so easy for couples around here to forget to take time for themselves with all the work the team had to do.
Espeon_Commander "Fine, I'm going to be blunt. What were you doing in Orre that was so important that Sub needed you pulled away from something that had the team's status on the line? Something that the geographical maps would help you with? Like...Some sort of hidden mine, mineral, or what?" She didn't enjoy being blunt about something like this, but her curiosity just kind of took over. Was she expecting Darts to answer her? ...Maybe. But she needed to give it a try, at least. It was time... Seemed pretty clear that Crystal wasn't going to let this go. Darts straightens up, fixing a steely look in his eyes as he glances between Cera and her. "Alright, I guess I'll tell you.... The reason Sub sent me to Orre was- hey look, isn't that a distraction Sub over there?" SubonicXP [Thursday, around lunch time.] "And that's what we're being offered, a two day stay in Kitakami as part of the Uva-Naranja Academy's cultural exchange with the region, to partake in the Festival of Masks. To put it into Clavell's words the vacation we never got, even if for just two days." Sub explained to the Snagems he gathered in the main area of HQ, a couple hours after he got the email, just to confirm the information and let people become active for the day. "In fact, Kitakami isn't that far from here." He pointed out, then looking to his teammates to see their reactions. "So...anyone want to check out Kitakami and the Festival of Masks? If you do the bus leaves from Cerulean City this evening...yes, a bus, and it's a ten hour drive by bus. But...it's free...?" He chuckled nervously. By the time Crystal, Cera, and Apolla have turned back around Darts has vanished, along with the pile of mail he had left on the table. Even the voluminous amount of junk mail had disappeared. A few moments later they could see Darts in the background of Sub's explanation - the hybrid trying and failing, as usual, to make himself scarce and avoid eye contact with the both of them. The prospect of a vacation seemed... very attractive considering everything he had just gone through. Now to try and find some way to avoid talking to those three throughout a ten hour bus ride. And get by day to day without scaring the locals too... He didn't even have to ask why everywhere he went the inhabitants looked at him like a specter of death and destruction, his face alone made that obvious. But from the sounds of things, this was going to be a potential Hisui situation all over again. As their leader outlined the plan to the group, Darts was busying himself with an old pair of familiar sunglasses. Familiar, at least, to those who had known him back in his human days. There was no way they would fit, so he had abandoned the practice a long time ago. His jacket had produced them, seemingly helpfully, as a disguise while the trip was being outlined. They slid right out of his coat sleeve into his golden palm. Well... Better than nothing... The gambler mused to himself, continuing to pointedly avoid looking at Crystal and Cera. He widens the temples, shifting them as far out as they can go, but given the hybrid proportions of his cranium it was looking like it wasn't going to work. That doesn't stop him from trying, stretching and twisting the plastic frames to try and get them to cover both of his eyes. He was in, at the very least, for a little R&R.
"Thank you!" Keiko cheered, wrapping Odd in a hug he literally couldn't see coming - though she tried to be gentle about it. "The only thing you need to keep in mind is shaving her hip fluff whenever you change her diaper. If you don't keep up with that, then her diapers will stop fitting her real quick. Other than that, she's usually really well-behaved," Keiko explained.
But that didn't sit right with me. "During the day, anyway. She has pretty bad night terrors, so she's more than likely going to wake you up at least once every night. It's only fair to warn out about that," I told them. Keiko wanted me not to mention that - I could feel it. But I wasn't going to keep something that major and, yes, potentially deal-breaking from them. They were our friends, and since they were going out of their way to help us out, they deserved to know.
“Well, I guess if nothing else, I get to see Tristen in person for the first time in a couple of weeks. Tristen called saying he was heading to Kitakami as well. By the time we get there, he’s probably going to be already there waiting on us. Funny enough, Tristen tried to get out of it by claiming that he had too much makeup work for the two weeks he had been out and leave it to history fanatic Raifort to give him an assignment to force him to go.” Freth said, crossing her arms as she sat at the meeting Sub arranged.
It was busy since everyone got back from Paldea. For some, they went back for one reason or another. In Tristen’s case, he went back to attend to class and perhaps make things right with those he ended up making friends with, at least that was a rather hidden objective out of Freth under the guise of him needing to continue his studies. As far as Freth was concerned, he needed it. Her significant other went back to Paldea to finish going through the victory road with Pokémon that he was hard at work training. Freth was between trying to further her psychic capabilities and continue studies post her incident in Area Zero. Case in point, as Sub talked with everyone, she hovered close by in a reclined back seating position as she listened Sub discuss the trip with everyone, albeit to Eris’s chagrin. She apparently took up too much space in the room doing that, according to her.
“I’m game for going on the trip, but I am betting anything that Blizzard sure as hell isn’t though. Especially after the last two trips effectively being botched.” Freth said. “Though what…is this academy delegation they’re talking about? I mean, why does an academy in Paldea have an interest in a festival in a backwater middle of nowhere island?”
“Considering how Geeta was a month ago when you blew open the whole conspiracy around Area Zero, I would imagine that something got their attention.” Eris would speak up in the reaches of Freth’s mind.
”God help me if we end up having to deal with those weird Pokémon in Kitakami, you know, half way around the world!”
”I would rather not think about that, though it does raise a curious thought: why they are staying around in that crater to begin with? A few of them could just fly or dig their way out easily, so why stay?
”On the topic of counting blessings… Freth would say to her. She’d just shake her head then look over towards Sub. “Though got to say, not too thrilled about sitting on a bus all night, incidentally.”
Monique weighed the offer to take a trip for a moment, but she knew her mind was already made up.
Uva-Naranja had made good use of its Snagem asset since she'd returned. After all, the entire point of her continuing to attend, aside from the whole "needing to still get used to having your life uprooted 49 years into the past which might as well be the good future" bit, was as an intangible asset. It turned out Monique was an excellent example, for reasons that were obvious yet incomprehensible, of something called a "nontraditional learner" in education parlance. In addition to attending with reasonable grades, she had been writing testimonials and appearing in all sorts of admissions literature.
The testimonials were somewhat humorous to Monique in the way they took her very-unusual childhood and made it fit this reality and time period. "As a student who came from a poor family growing up and had to work two jobs to make ends meet, I am glad to see an institution recognize my hard work like Uva-Naranja and make it all pay off." All of that was true, but there were a lot of details being left out for everyone's sake.
It certainly was a departure from being in the annual Chicks of Snagem calendar, but that was also the point.
When the offer to travel, even to rural Kitakami way in the north, came up, it was thus obvious that Monique attending was good for everyone. She got to see more of the world that by her time was gone; the academy got one of their spokespeople out in front of an audience it was apparently trying to reach for reasons that only administration could divine; and she got to support her fellow Snagems, who aside from her sisters (and possibly others) were her only actual family.
A 10-hour bus ride was going to be annoying, but what was 10 hours when she'd already flown the eight-hour Saffron–Hau‘oli route? At least she probably only needed to do it once or twice. She packed fairly light with enough clothes to wear if no Illusion was needed, plus a solid Pokémon team, just in case things went awry. If this place turned out like Hisui did, after all, she might need to have people staring at cursed fire for a while.
The worst part of Darts doing one of the most classic distractions in the book wasn't that he went for something so easily seen through. It was that not only did he use it on three psychics, Cera actually did turn in response just in case he was actually right. She'd realize it as soon as she turned around, sighing and turning around. "Look, you can't get away with making us turn around on instinct and-"But he did. Darts was already gone, so was the junk mail, and any ability to live down that she fell for the simplest ruse to exist. "...use that to run... you know, I'm more mad that it worked." He wasn't even entirely wrong either; somehow, Sub was there, talking about a trip to Kitakami and how Clavell wanted to make things up to the team a bit. But when did he get there, how...? She shook her head, seeing Darts again and his attempts at trying to avoid looking at her and Crystal. "...we both going? He can't evade us forever," she spoke up to Crystal afterward, keeping her telepathy localized so only she'd hear her. Of course, this hinged on Darts going too, and predicting him was nigh impossible without mind reading. Possibly even with, he'd probably find a way. As for others not named Cera, Sol had taken a step back. "Normally I'd be willing to take another look at Kitakami, but if you've seen one rice field, you've seen most of the locale. There's some things that bear researching besides, so if it's alright, I'll bow out and divert my focus there," he replied. "If it's any consolation, I'll put down anything found for later perusal." "I don't mind going," Aden added. The time since his waking up had done him good in moving around, but visually, he still had a dull look to him, his energy still well out of whack. "Anything to get around a bit. Besides, a festival sounds fun and I haven't really heard much about Kitakami, so it'd be good to see with my own eyes." "You sure...? That pressure you've been giving off feels like it's a little heavier than a few days. I'm worried you'll overdo it.""Normally I'd be encourging towards more travels, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my worries too," Sol said after a moment. "It's still weird feeling the sort of pressure I'd expect out of Blizzard, albeit a fair bit weaker than his." "I feel like if I stayed here, I'll just go stir crazy with Doc sending that Machamp of his to keep me out of the STR. We shouldn't end up having to fight there, and if we do, I'll make sure my Pokemon handle the brunt of it so I don't overdo anything. Alright?" Truthfully, Aden wated to keep his mind off recent concerns too, hoping a couple days out of HQ would do just that. With any luck, maybe a bit cooler too... "Alright. Just be careful and have a safe journey, got it? All of you." Aden and Cera would both nod, with the Mew lowering her head and musing for a second. "Wonder if Amaranth will be there too. I know she's still at the academy, but I doubt anyone there would be left out of the invitation.""Guess we'll see when we get there?" Aden asked. "I doubt they'd exactly catch the same ride we are"
Grinning excitedly, a newcomer to Snagem vacations, Tsuki looked at the back and forth of Keiko, Ter, Odd, and Lykas. It still felt like a punch to the head when he thought about how the people who he shared a team with were now parents themselves. He probably looked a moment too long but he hoped his shades hid that, his thoughts briefly going back to his own parents. His Pokemon, intuitive on her own to her trainer’s emotional state, pat him on the head to snap him back to reality.
Right.
But something that Odd said did resonate with Tsuki. There were other members who looked like his own age too- and he had barely spent any time with them at all. Hell, he spent most of his time in Snagem before annoying the adults. Maybe he ought to try making friends with people who wouldn’t see him as just a kid. He remembered that girl Abby- but she didn’t seem to be anywhere nearby. Even that Tristen kid he had heard so much about from the other students didn’t seem to be around, but Freth’s comment about him also going gave Tsuki trying to make friends with him something to look forward to.
“Do… your vacations always go sideways? We’re just going on to see a festival right, what’s the worst that could happen?” Tsuki asked Freth. “Sounds like a fun, if kinda tame time.”
"Lykas nodded in understanding to Keiko's instruction while Odd shook his head toward Ter. "I don't think that'll be too much trouble. I don't sleep as much as I used to anyway so I tend to be up half the night, already." He admitted. "So I can stay up with her if she needs it without too much trouble. I'm also a Ghost-type specialist. I could very easily just get rid of the bad dreams but I'd rather not go that route with someone so young. I dunno what effect it might have on them so I'll be avoiding that." He pointed out the possibility but quickly refuted it as an option, waving the thought away. Upon hearing Tsuki and looking over to see the spark of color that marked his existence in the void, Odd smirked at him. "I take it you haven't been on a Snagem vacation before?" He asked. "We're cursed with the inability to relax for longer than 12 hours." He joked. "Our trip to Paldea was supposed to be a vacation but we got roped into attending the academy the day after we arrived. We got to spend a few hours at the auction house in the port we arrived in, spent the night at a local hotel and got a missive from he Indigo Alliance the very next day." He explained. "You left out the part where some of us beat up a local Pokemon celebrity because it was mistaken for a mutated Shadow Pokemon. We brought that on ourselves by not looking for more information before we acted." Lykas remarked, gently bouncing Libelle in his arms as he did. "Anyhow, I'm gonna go give Libelle a bath and get her dressed.. I'll come back to the main room afterward so you guys can leave Yuna with Odd if you leave before I get back. He may be bind but he can see well enough to keep her out of trouble for a few minutes." He assured, giving his fiance a smirk before he walked off to find one of the bathrooms.
Brian, Amber, and Rachel had all gotten some down time in while they were at HQ. Rachel had taken to Snagem like a Psyduck to water, just as Brian had known she would. She and Amber got along really well, which surprised Brian. He hadn't expected the Froslass hybrid to be so friendly with the slightly younger girl, but Amber had explained that she'd realized that shutting everyone out because she was afraid to grow attached was no way to live. So the two had quickly become close friends, with Amber sharing a bit of her background with Rachel. Meanwhile, Brian had taken the downtime to spend some quality time with his team, including Grace. The little Ralts was getting closer to being purified, and he wanted to open her heart a bit more before he took her back to the Super Training Room.
When Sub approached and spoke about a getaway in a place called Kitakami, for an event called the Festival of Masks, Rachel immediately jumped at the chance. She was hoping that Brian and Amber would come, too, but both declined. Amber didn't feel like galivanting across a new area just yet, and while Brian would normally go, his egg had hatched, and he had a feisty Jangmo-o to deal with. That was on top of dealing with Aisha and her temper. "I'm afraid one or both of them will get into serious trouble if I don't keep an eye on them," he explained. "Aisha still doesn't trust me fully, and Daar is far to rambunctious to take on a trip, especially if I let him out of his ball."
Rachel could see where they were coming from, and she couldn't blame them for choosing to stay behind. That didn't stop her from going, however, and as she reached the bus stop, she saw someone else there, waving. "I don't think we've met yet," she said. "I'm Rachel, and this little guy is Rainer." She indicated the Eevee currently sitting at her feet. Despite being quite shy at first, he was almost always out of his ball these days, having gotten accustomed to being around so many people a couple of weeks before.
Freth then spoke up. "Take the one before that, which took place not too long before our Paldea trip. We took part in the world tournament that was staged in Galar. Not only we ended up having to take on a shadowfied giant Metapod, the Ziton showed up and mind-screwed Crystal, which made her end up going on, to her as I am to understanding it, a 450-ish year trip through Ultra Space, and Blizzard right after that nearly getting killed by another someone...that someone that made me into the Galarian Articuno hybrid you see and is taking up residence in my headspace as well." "Not sorry for that, still, by the way.""Shut up." Freth said to her.
With everyone gathered at the Cerulean City bus stop they would no doubt wonder where Sub was, the Dark One strangely absent despite him saying he'd meet them all there before they left HQ. Eventually the bus would pull up, the characteristic Arcanine inspired logo of Windy Lines on the side of the bus greeting the gathered group. The door would open and from it came a Mr. Mime, an actual Mr. Mime and not a Mr. Mime hybrid. The Mr. Mime was wearing a hat with the same Windy Lines logo on it and greeted the Snagems at the bus stop with a smile and a wave. A Natu perched on its shoulder, the bird locking eyes with Monique instantly and casting a Miracle Eye on her so that she could receive the telepathic broadcast.
"Welcome passengers! My name is Mister Marcel and I'll be your driver this evening! Please have your physical tickets or your e-tickets ready before boarding! And for confirmation the bus will be heading for Kitakami with two rest stops between here and our destination. So if you are all ready please make a single file and orderly line, and thank you for choosing Windy Lines! We are Legendary for our Extreme Speed!" The Mr. Mime, Mister Marcel, said to them via telepathy and also hand signing exactly what he was saying in their minds, the Pokemon laughing at its last bit due to the puns. Wait, what!? A Pokemon drives the bus!? And it spoke very well with its telepathy, even Psychic Pokemon had to be well trained to articulate to that degree.
An old couple that was waiting at the bus stop with the Snagems, blending into the background no doubt thanks to how quiet they were, would approach the bus first and show the Mr. Mime their paper tickets, the mime scanning them with its handgun giving them the go ahead to enter the bus, the old man and woman acting like it was no big deal to have a Pokemon as their driver. They must have rode this bus before. The Mr. Mime would then wait for the Snagems to approach as well, scanning the QR codes that were their tickets on their SNAGs and giving them the go ahead to enter the bus and be seated.
One by one the Snagems would enter the bus and be seated, making themselves comfortable for the long ride ahead of them. With the last Snagem in, followed by a rather dirty looking male Linoone hybrid sporting a straw hat, the group would no doubt again wonder where Sub was. The Mr. Mime would materialize a stopwatch from...somewhere...and check the time, looking around and noticing no others nearby but still called out via telepathy, broadcasting like a radio tower. "Last call for Kitakami! All aboard that's coming aboard!" He declared. With sight of no one and hearing nothing he turned and began to ascend the steps into the bus.
"Wait! I'm coming, I'm coming!" Sub shouted as he ran at the bus, having not heard the telepathic broadcast thanks to his Psychic immunity. The man had a large backpack on his back stuffed to exploding, certainly not his normal one. As he ran up onto the bus the Mr. Mime would stop him at the top and hold his hand out, no doubt wanting his ticket. "Right, right...here you go!" Sub said as he showed the QR code on his SNAG's screen, got it scanned, and then the Mr. Mime stepped to the side and let him go find a seat which he would next to Freth. "Phew, I can't believe I almost missed it." He said with a laugh. What could have kept Sub so long?
Now content that everyone was aboard Mister Marcel would close the doors and began to speak to them via telepathy again, only Sub unable to 'hear' it. "Windy Lines would again like to thank you for choosing us to escort you to the village of Kitakami this evening! As you all are aware this is a bit of a long trip, taking roughly ten hours total. We should be arriving in Kitakami very early tomorrow morning. The line has two rest stops along the way so you may get out, stretch, and relieve yourselves if needed, each stop at least thirty minutes, longer if needed. You are welcome to sleep during the trip and if desired we offer complimentary sleep masks, simply ask my lady friend Miss Rouge for one or anything else you may need on the trip." Upon mentioning 'Miss Rouge' a Jynx would suddenly appear next to Tsuki, as if it had just materialized out of thin air, had it been here this whole time!? The Jynx would let out a happy cry as it adjusted its little vest and patted the cart it had in front of it, said cart loaded with snacks, drinks, the masks, small pillows, blankets, you name it.
"Now if everyone is seated and ready we shall kick off! Now leaving Cerulean City! Next stop rest area number nine!" It declared telepathically as it put the already running bus into drive and with a slight jump of the bus the vehicle began to move, slowly pulling away from the bus station and quickly picking up speed as they rode down the paved street heading east out of Cerulean City. Kitakami here we come!
(You may describe your character's experience of the first three hours of the trip, ending in them pulling up to the first rest stop, if you so choose.)
