Rolling first - Square 0
The moment Alcor noticed the cursed dice nestled against the curb she knew she should have walked away. Tried to even, but to no avail. Whatever magic pull that wood and open six-sided trinket had was something that couldn’t be resisted.
Like before, a harsh wind slammed into her, much like when she first arrived on her homeworld but perhaps not as cold. City street lights and neon storefront close signs faded into absolute darkness as the familiar sounds of nightlife quieted into a deafening silence.
When the gust calmed and the world or realm she was whisked away to left her in a state of sensory deprivation the game appeared before her in a line of squares. Alcor knew from her prior experience that leaving was not an option, that an invisible barrier kept her in the designated space until she rolled the dice and the only way to get out was to play, even though she was an unwilling participant.
Fortunately, Eleonora wasn’t here so she could rush through it without having to wait for her twin at the end.
“Might as well get this over with-” Alcor knelt on the ground and rolled the dice in front of her to begin.
