Lyco 1
He was shoved up against the open doorway, the wind had risen, bringing with it the sweet scent of rain. He was waiting for his brother. The darn Aishan trees had managed to change his hair and crystals to different colors entirely. He hadnt seen his twin since. Though it had only been yesterday.
This was a big change, they at least knew why it had happened now. But he was still a bit shocked, and worried about what his brother might think.
Besides his parents of course, Lura’s opinion mattered the most to the young shifter boy.
So far Lyco was shaping up to be a miniature Vallen, full of energy and fire.
Thunder rolled out a warning of the impending storm and the clouds let loose with torrents of rain and the lightshow began.
Lyco dragged a soft, plush blanket over to drape over himself as he waited for Lura to emerge and pass judgement. Lyco had been whisked to the healers by Vallen to make sure he was okay after Val noticed the striking changes in his son. It had just happened so suddenly.

Lura 1
The storm was on its way. The youth sat high up in a tree as he watched the clouds. He could see the billows in the sky, this was going to be a big on. Things were most likely going to get reall messy if they didn't get the dens secured like they were suppose to. With that in mind he had swung down into the dens a little bit ago, getting the pups into the protective embrace of their parents. Pulling up the protective barriers they had made for such moments.
He heard his Dad return home in a rush, his instincts rang that Lyco was with him! He perked up. He hadn't seen his brother since yesterday. Something that was rare indeed with the siblings. Lura hated being away from his sibling for too long, after half a day passed he started wandering to try to find him. He rushed inside once a few more chores to keep the Dens safe were done.
"Lyco!!!" he ran into the house to find his brother in their corner. A blanket over him? "Hey, where were you? I got worried."
He reached out for his brother. Hoping that Lyco was okay, did someone hurt him?

He turned to his brother with tears forming in his eyes. "I...I..the Aishan tree pollen, it uh, it changed me. I don't look like me." He scrunched down about his legs. This was the moment. The chance that he would get rejected caused cracks to form in his heart. His Dad had told him that Lura wouldn't mind, that Isaris wouldn't mind, that he was still himself in a different suit. But he looked so different. His hair was no longer his Dad's bright white, it was darker and sooty, his crystals were a completely different color. The parts of him that looked like his biological father, besides his skin and eyes which was common to them all was gone. He no longer looked like his Dad's son. Lyco burried his face in his legs and sobbed.

Lura 2
He blinked as he took in his brother's new appearance. Pollen? POLLEN DID THIS?!? He looked his brother over. His crystals were darker, he lost the silver hair of their Dad. He let the shock sink in, slowly moving to sit in front of his brother. "You...it..." he winced as his brother started to cy. "No. No. No.,..don't..." he pulled his brother against him. Rocking them both. "Don't cry, please...Ly you know I get angry when you do..."
That stupid tree caused his brother to cry. He didn't feel hatred often, it was growing towards something that was beyond their control.

"Aye, pollen." He mumbled. "I look sooty." Like he had crawled up the smoke chimney. He kind of liked the new crystal color, but he had lost the pure white shock of hair that identified him as Vallen's direct decendant. He melted into his brother's arms. Lura had always understood him the best, being of the same blood and the same age. "What if they want a different son now, the least it could have done was made me look like Papa Isaris."
He was well aware his brother got angry when he cried, but not at him, but this time there was no one to beat up. Though Lyco wasn't a cry baby ever this was just a bit much for him. Plus the hormones of puberty were unkind and were changing his body and mind. It was the cusp of manhood he was on.

The older half of the twins growled. "They won't! Pops wouldn't abandon us, not with how protective he is...if Dad has issues with it, fine. I'll deal with him!" he meant those words. He and their rougher parent always had a tossel here and there. Sparring really. Though Lura always wondered who would actually win in a proper fight. He rubbed his brothers back. "I'm not leaving you."

"Im sure you are right." He had overreacted that was for sure but it was hard not too, when he was the only one who had been affected by the darn changes to begin with. No one else seemed to get hit with the pollen magic, he wondered if their uncle had by chance also been struck by it or his family. Lura really reminded him of Vallen, it must be the shear stubborness and fiestyness that they had both inherited, that and his brother had the crystals in similar places on his face.
He leaned over and hugged his brother for a long time. "Thank you." He felt much relief in his trembling heart at his brother's words, now he could go back to being himself a miniature of their parents if no longer in looks.
"Do you think they will have more kids soon? I think it would be nice to have a sibling."

Lura made sure to hold his brother for just a few heartbeats longer. He needed the reassurance a bit more than Lyco might of thought. He didn't like that he wasn't affected by something like this. He would of leaped to make sure he and his brother were the same. Maybe by some luck as he matured they would still look alike. Good thing Shifters naturally shifted color. He huffed as he pulled his brother's blanket off to settle underneath it with him. "They'd have to go with a surrogate, Papa...as much as we both know him as our Mother...can't produce kids. Even if Dad keeps trying."
He rolled his eyes. "Honestly. We're not silly kids anymore. If they want more time like that, all they need is to tell us."

He smiled but scrunched up at the thought. "Aye, Papa is not capable, but we wouldn't be us if they were not them. I suppose they would likely try for our birth Mother again, that would be kind of cool I think. I have always liked how you got her hair, it is a pretty color. Papa will make handsome and beautiful siblings for us and we will be related in a way then if they find the same woman for the carrying." He had always sort of wondered about females, they didn't have any in their family and well, it was strange to think of them. He wondered if he would like girls..or if he would be like their fathers and prefer boys. He was neither here nor there at the moment and the caring about that seemed a long way off. He was more interested in picking a career and he thought that storm cleric would be the way he would go.
"This is true, maybe next time they are 'secretly' making eyes at each other we will tell them that."

Lura took a lock of his hair to pull in front of him. "I can't tell." he muttered. "I just know that our people have the hair and skin that change with the light..." he's always had issues with colors. Something that his parents never questioned. He looked to Lyco. "At least Papa's lungs are better...I overheard them talking a few months back. Papa's been seeing a healer to strengthen his lungs. Their weak."
It was something that he and Lyco were checked on subtly. He picked up on it based on a healer in the town. Their Papa had breathing issues, the elder had checked the twins when they were little. Which is what led Lura to think for the longest time that their Papa really did birth them. "With how he worries...you'd think Papa bore us."

See he shouldn't have worried about his brother caring too much about his coloration change. Their family had a few interesting quirks that was for sure. Dad so far as he knew could see color just fine as could he. "You know he does get out of breath sometimes really bad that doesnt really add up to the amount of exercise he was taking at the time. At least Dad has taken him to the healer for it. Weenie, Papa would have fought to not go and Dad would have just given him a flat look.
"You would think, in every way but biologically he did bear us." Papa had always been there for them, just as had Dad.

The bulkier of the twins nodded as he leaned on the wall behind them. He pulled his brother against his side with a huff. "See, you just made the best point. Why are you so worried about what a little pollen did?"
He looked at his brother. "We're still blood bound. We're still family." He smiled to him. "I still love you, bro!!"
Lura was a bit...dense in areas. Though it was noted by many adults that he was quick thinking when it came to something highly unsafe, in social talking however...he was as blunt as their Dad.

He made a face with pursed lips, darn it but his brother was right. He had known his fears had not made sense but there was nothing he could have done about it either way. The pollen had taken the choice in the matter from him. Though he felt immensely more comforted with his twin pressed up against him as they had been in the womb and it was usually how they slept still, in a heap protected by two fierce parents and a zillion fierce radaku and one somewhat confused janarim. "I am so grateful for that, you have no idea." Or perhaps his brother did, after all Lura was the only one that shared Lyco's genetic makeup, and twins usually had a special mystical thing going on

His face was met with a chuckle from his brother. Lura ruffled Lyco's hair. "Oh! That reminds me, when we go fishing next...I wanna show you where I wound up after getting swept away."
It had taken him a bit to find that clearing once again. Though when he had, the youth had found it looked like a defense outpost of somesort. He looked up a few of the earlier village desgins, seeing these random clearings that were suppose to be fake family groups. A way for them to protect the younglings.

"Oh?" That sounded interesting. He had inherited his Dad's penchent for adventures and it looked like Lura had as well. "Was there something cool there?" They could take Dep and his female radaku lady. She would bear Unduru a set of pups soon but she was still able to go on walks so long as they didn't push it too hard. Unduru had been busy of late as main stud at the moment. It would break his heart when his genetics flooded the next generation and Dad would hae to find someone else to cover the girls next year. Breeding at a large scale was quite complicated.
