The forests of Urania. They were vast and deep. You could be mistaken for believing that they covered all the surface. If you looked out from where you stand, you cannot see past them. Even if you got as high as you could, you would not see anything but the trees. And if you could get as low as you could, you would only see roots. But, at the center of the world, there was a large area of mostly stone. It was on the outskirts of this area that you now stood, on ground of a fine and dark dirt. It is as if you stand on the last bit of ground before the untamed wilderness. This area leads to the Regalia Ward. ——— “Welcome to Urania. This sphere here… well, it used to light up this section of the forest! Which section is this? Oh, yes. This is the Regalia Ward. Oh! I should explain why it’s called that. The constellation Gemini had that title on my world. But it also represented a clan, the Regalia clan, represented by the Twins. There was also three tribes under them, Ara, the Altar; Corona Australis and; Corona Borealis, known as the Shared Crowns.
See! They are right here on the sphere…
Oh, perhaps I should explain why I’m explaining all this.”The senshi touches the sphere’s stars in a certain order. Nothing happens for a moment. And then you see the stars shift and move before forming the words: Are you ready?“You see, on my world, before I was allowed to leave and explore beyond Urania, I had to complete a challenge from each clan. Which I did! But, um, this thing doesn’t seem to remember that. It won’t let me turn on the light until I do it all over again! I mean… the two things — lighting the way and the challenge aren’t even connected! It must be broken…”She looked sad and her wisp appeared and tried to comfort her by doing all it could which was spin around her head. Then she looked to you. “And I was much stronger than… you see. I’m not at the same stage as I was then. So, if this does what I think it does, I’m going to need some help.”Are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready? The stars keep reforming and asking the same thing over and over, like it’s broken or something and stuck on repeat. The wisp circles the sphere excitedly as if also asking… Are you ready?stari_maga Feel free to ask Urania any questions you may have. She may be able to provide more information. Or, if you want to start the challenge, place your hand on the sphere and get ready player one! ❂

Almere was here on a very important mission. So, she probably shouldn't have been staring at the girl who had brought her up here just because she had stars in her eyes, but on the other hand, she had stars in her eyes. Almere knew better than to stare, but she kept stealing glances. What kind of magic did you need to have star eyes, she wondered? The only other senshi she'd really talked to was Lysithea, who was a unicorn princess, so maybe that made Urania a star princess? She was definitely talking about stars. "Gemini, huh?" said Almere. The Twins. She liked that. It made her think of her twin cousins. Although, if they were trying to come up with challenges for people, they would probably make them pretty hard, so, maybe that wasn't a good sign? "What do you think it does?" she asked, nodding towards the sphere. "I can't say that I'm that strong, either. I've been training as much as I can, but," it was obvious that she was still just a Page, and she summoned her spoon weapon, which was all she could really bring to the table. "I'll do my best to help you though, okay? And I brought some cookies for when we're done."

“Usually, it lights the pathway through this section of the forest which is the Gemini Ward. But it looks like it reset itself and wants us to complete this challenge.”Urania tried not to sound too sour. But these machines acting up were really getting to her. She didn’t notice Almere looking at her as the senshi was already giving the malfunctioning sphere the most disappointing look, as if that was going to help anything. “It’s going to make us do a series of tests. Don’t worry about strength. The Geminis never cared much for strength and the whole Castor and Pollux story. But they did have a respect for twins. They had a lot in their clan. You know, come to think of it, when I originally did this challenge, I did it with my twin brother.”But she felt her stomach starting to rumble at the mention of sweets. “I really can’t wait for cookies. I think I mostly remember how this challenge goes. Are you ready?”❂

Almere respected twins! Maybe that meant she would do okay at the challenge. "I'll introduce you to my cousins sometime," she told Urania. "They're identical. It can almost be hard to tell them apart, but they know a lot about knight stuff." And they'd probably be interested in meeting someone from a place like this, even if they'd worry about Almere going up to space with a stranger. She was fine, they didn't have to freak out about something like this. "Anyway, we should get started, right?" she asked. The ball was asking if they were ready, over and over again. She hoped she wasn't going to annoy it by keeping it waiting. She put her hand on the ball and then looked to Urania, waiting.

“Identical! That’s amazing!” Urania’s eyes looked extra starry. “I would love to meet them. I’m currently living with a knight. We used this weird golden vial he found. It made him remember his past life. And he was my brother, Tsubasa, in his past life. He doesn’t remember any of it, though. To me, it feels like yesterday.”The sphere activated at Almere’s touch. Welcome to the test of the Regalia!
The first two tasks will be from the Shared Crowns, Corona Australis and Corona Borealis.
Please choose one of the crowns to begin. An altar table appeared before you. There are two crowns. One ornate and made of crystals. The other is simple, like a circlet, and made of gold. ❂

"A past life?" Urania was talking about it like it was no big deal, but Almere didn't think it was some casual thing for someone to have a past life. "You mean, like reincarnation?" That sounded like something you only heard about on the astrology part of YouTube. Of course, she was finding out that all kinds of things were real that she only could have dreamed about before, but she hadn't been expecting any of that stuff to go past lifetimes. She had so many questions. Mostly they were about how you knew if someone had a past life, but she tried not to get to carried away. The challenge was starting, and she had a job to do. She stared at the two crowns for a long second, but it wasn't a hard choice. "I think sparklier is better," she said, and reached out a hand to touch the ornate crown.

“Yeah. Kind of like reincarnation. Most people don’t know about theirs. Something happens in the Cauldron with starseeds that makes you forget about any other lives. I don’t really understand it, to be honest. Erytheia explained it to me. He’s a knight of Cosmos and knows about stuff like that. I don’t really get it, though. Most of it doesn’t make any sense.”It was good that she didn’t know anything about her past life. He current life was giving her enough problems as is. Such as her current conundrum. The crown lit up and a voice could be heard from it. Answer my riddle:
‘Like a crown, I can complete the most powerful and wise, like a jeweled staff but shorter in size.’
What am I?❂

Almere listened to the crown's riddle with all of the attention of a girl who had read lots and lots of novels about princesses unraveling mysteries in crypts and ancient castles, and who had a basic idea about how this worked. Also like a girl who had grown up on princess books and who had watched the coronation scene in Frozen too many times, she immediately blurted out, "A scepter!" She smiled and waited for an answer, but then she blinked, sucked in her cheeks, and tuned back to Urania. "Is that too obvious?" she asked. Her brows scrunched up. "It's not going to kick us out or something if we get it wrong, is it?" The book character usually figured out the riddles, but there were scary threats for if they didn't. The Sphinx even ate people if they were wrong! Almere didn't see any Sphinxes here, but there was still a whole planet on the line!

“Oh, no. It won’t kick us out if we’re wrong. But it might just tack on extra tasks if we get things wrong. Or make us re-test. It depended on the Clan. They all had different rules for failure.”At Almere’s answer, a jeweled scepter appeared on the altar next to the crown she had chosen. Please select the second crown.Urania touched the circlet. Human queens might choose stone; wolf kings make do with bone. Wood or leather, whatever's your pleasure— after all, I'm only as strong as whoever calls me their own.“Another riddle. Hrm. I wonder if they are related.”❂

"Oh! Nice! I wasn't wrong," said Almere as the scepter showed up and the techno-narration seemed happy with her answer. The next riddle didn't get an immediate response, though. She blinked, and scrunched her nose. Stone and bone? It probably had something to do with regalia, but the riddle was talking about wolves, and what did wolves wear? Nothing. Real wolves didn't real clothes at all. Cartoon wolves could, or maybe furries dressed like wolves. She could think of a wolf furry costume with bone earrings, and maybe an entire prehistoric theme going on. That left the question of if people on Urania knew about furries. Maybe they didn't. Maybe they just had really fancy wolves. For some reason she didn't think that was the answer. "Regalia," she murmured to herself. "Royalty." Royalty. That was what she needed to think about more. Suddenly it seemed obvious. "Oh! It's a throne, isn't it?"

Just like the last riddle, the answer was confirmed when a small stone replica of a throne appeared next to the second crown. Now there were four items on the altar with an empty space in the middle. The final task is from Ara, the Altar.
Present your offering.“Oh. I forgot you had to bring an offering. Shoot.” She looked around and patted her skirt as if it had pockets (maybe it did?). “I’ve got nothing in subspace either.”❂

Oh, good! That had been right, too. That just left the last thing. An offering. What were they supposed to offer? Urania didn't have anything. Almere was asking herself that, but deep inside, she already was pretty sure she knew the answer. "An offering is supposed to be a sacrifice, right?" she asked. "Like, not in a weird way. I just mean, something that you wanted that you give up." With a small sigh, Almere summoned the cookies from her subspace pocket. They were in one of those leftover Christmas tins, one with cartoon polar bears in little knitted hats on the lid. They were fresh enough, though, that she could smell them even through the metal. She'd read Percy Jackson. They gave offerings of food all the time. "I really did wanna share these with you at the end," she said. "But, if you think it might help now, you can try." She offered the tin over.

“Yes. It should be something important or something that’s hard to give up. Otherwise, you’re not really sacrificing anything.”Urania looked to Almere who had the right idea. When she summoned the cookies from subspace, Urania nodded. These would have to be the offering. Even if the senshi really would have loved the sweets. She took the tin from Almere and placed the tin in the center of the altar. The altar immediately disappeared with crowns, items and cookies. You have succeeded. Then the sphere makes the most strange beeping sound. System reset complete. Please state your purpose and touch the sphere.“Please! Light the pathway again.”Urania spared no time. As she held her hand to the sphere, the fog begins to lift… stari_maga Congratulations! You have completed the challenge. You can claim your Crown Token in the Crown Token thread. As Urania started talking to the sphere, Almere clasped her hands in front of herself and squeezed until her knuckles started to turn white. "Please work," she whispered to it. "Please. Come on. I gave you cookies!" She could make more cookies, true, but it was the thought of it. It was the instant gratification. Beyond that, though, she really did want to see what this place looked like with the lights on, and for Urania to be happy with her world. From what she could see so far, this place really made her feel like she was in space, even more than other places that were technically in space, like Earth, and Lysithea, which she loved but which didn't really have many stars to stare at. Although, like at the end of some myths, the little star orb seemed to be accepting her cookie offering. The fog was lifting. "It's working!" she said.

As the fog disappeared, you can begin to see lights in the distance. Gradually, you begin to see a path. It is lit by glowing crystals in the ground. “It worked! The path is lit again. Thank you so much!”Urania was over-joyed. She almost didn’t see it until the new lights gleamed off its surface. On the ground, near the sphere that hovered over its pedestal, was the tin. “Almere! I think that’s your tin.” The senshi said as she picked it up. “Aww. It’s empty, but at least you get it back.”❂
