First of all, I just want to say thanks for the invite! This contest looks fun and lowkey stressful at the same time lol, which of course means I'm interested! XD I've been working on my audition entries on and off but realized I couldn't really commit to any looks because I was worried some of the things I was using might not be allowed. I get the basic concept, but don't know what all applies. I've seen people in past contests use ears without the judges mentioning it, and yet that was frowned upon in the Cycle 4 auditions. So if possible, could I please get a definite answer on whether certain things (not that I'm using all of these in my entries lol) are allowed? Ears (like mentioned above, used in the past without any issues, so is it just the auditions they're not supposed to be used for or is it a new rule?)
Noses (another thing I've seen used in past cycles without any judges commenting on it's use, but they weren't used often, so...I'm just not sure)
Blush (this is something I assumed was allowed since it falls under makeup and doesn't alter the base features at all, but I saw in a judges comment in one of the past cycles that blush wasn't allowed in this contest and I wasn't sure if they meant the specific round that was being judged or the entirety of the contest, so...??
Face shadows (haven't seen it used at all, that I remember, so I have nothing to go off of for this)
Mascara/eyeliner (mostly for this one I just wasn't sure what would count as altering the shape of the eye. Would adding an eyeliner extension be altering it or would that just be if it crops the eyes?)
Scars/injuries (something else I've seen used in the past and I think the only comment I saw against it was more just that the judge didn't like the look of it, but again it was used very very rarely)
Piercings Sorry, I'm probably just overthinking and stressing myself out but having answers to whether or not these specific things are allowed will definitely help ease that. Thank you!

Regarding your concerns, here are the yeses and no's on what's allowed:
Ears: Yes. Since it's just ears, it doesn't change a model's face, then it's fine. (though I am surprised no one used ear mods so far in the auditions)
Noses: No.
Blushes: Yes, but there are blush items out there that for some reason carves out your avatar's face, so just make sure you're not using those.
Face Shadows: Yes. It's just shadow, it's fine.
Mascara/eyeliner: No. Mascara and eyeliner changes a model's eye, so it's not allowed. But you are allowed to do eyeshadows. However, there are some eyeshadows that have liners with them, so keep an eye out for those.
Scars/injuries: Yes.
Piercings: Yes.
Hope this answered your questions! emotion_bigheart

Hope this answered your questions! emotion_bigheart Thank you so much for the response! I'm glad to see noses are accepted because it pains me not to use a nose lol. I will have to avoid some of my go-to makeup items but that's easier than avoiding noses. Again thank you! heart

Noses are not allowed, as it changes a face of a model. I wrote that response early in the morning, and I have not slept while making that response.
I didn't realize I made a mistake before posting that response until I re-read it again.
Again, I apologize for such misinformation. crying

I'm SO sorry, Flame!! That was 100% my fault - not yours! sweatdrop
I've decided to allow the use of noses, so I edited your post to reflect that ... and forgot to tell you. I changed it right in the midst of setting up the new mini contest, and I let it slip my mind.
Also, to help clear up confusion, I'm going to be posting a more detailed explanation regarding item legality in terms of the competition. An announcement will come out shortly. ·•· — ·•♥•· — ·•·

i was wondering the same! i love using makeup to color up the expressions of the avatars, but i wasn't sure what we could or couldn't use for that (like what kind of makeup is/isn't allowed)! thank you for clarifying it!
