Quote: The Meteor Shower (3) : It wouldn’t be a star festival without a meteor shower! Right on time, a beautiful array of shooting stars graces the night sky. This time of year is unnaturally clear and it’s incredibly easy to see the stars. Most meteor fragments appear to be little white or yellow lights streaming across the sky, but if you watch closely enough you may find that some of them seem to be a whole rainbow of colors. The scientists have reported that it’s just different components burning up as they enter the atmosphere, but there’s something undeniably magical about it. It was... nice.
Okay, okay, a lot of things were 'nice'. Nice was a really unspecific kind of word. But the shining lights in the sky - that was nice. It was different. It was something that wasn't in the midst of thirty million people (that wasn't Destiny City's population) (probably?) (they'd never really had any good sense of scale when it came to people or numbers) and that didn't mean they had to be too close to strangers to see, and as much of an early bird as they might have been a lot of the time, night time was alright too. It was a generally unobjectionable, positive scenario that required no more interacting with people they didn't know, and that bumped it up from normal to good in Strix's book.
Except there was a total stranger hanging out in the area where they'd been planning to sit and watch the sky, and that absolutely was not okay. That was their spot! Not that they'd designated it or anything, and it wasn't as if she had any way to know that was their spot, so... but still!! But still that was their spot. It was theirs, and they were going to sit there, and they could sit somewhere else, sure - but they didn't like change, and they didn't want to change that, even as small of a factor as one bench actually was. They'd be able to see the meteor shower from almost anywhere in the city with a decent enough vantage point or a decent enough sky, yeah, sure; but they'd been planning to watch it from here, and they knew themself well enough to know they'd be internally caught up on the change for an hour or two at least. It was one of those aspects of their psyche they'd just sort of resigned themself to working around, in time.
Pax walked up to the bench, folded their arms over their chest, and looked at her with a vaguely unimpressed and vaguely irritated stare. "Move," they said, in a way that might've been a question, given the way their eyebrows arched upwards. It also could've been an order. They hadn't really thought that far ahead about it.Me1ghei sorry about promising to get this up yesterday And Then Not Doing It, i opened the New Topic window & picked out a prompt and a title and then just. wrote nothing at all. for 24 hours.

Urania was sitting on the bench she had specifically picked out for this evening’s meteor shower watching. It was one of the last days of the festival and she wanted to see the meteor shower one more time. She could have used the mini ‘observatory’ she was building on the roof of Yuri’s shop with the telescope he had loaned her the money for. It had been coming along nicely. She had the telescope, for one. But she had also been making it comfortable with pillows and places to sit and fairy lights. She knew it would never be what she had on her world — not even close. Yet, if she could make something that was her own here, even if it was small… maybe, just maybe, she could find a home here, too. It was difficult to make this place home. She missed her world. But it could not sustain her now. She couldn’t live there. Not after whatever had happened before (and after) she had been put into stasis. Perhaps she was lucky in that way that she didn’t she her world as it decayed over a thousand years. She sighed. Earth wasn’t so foreign. Her world had been close to the Moon Kingdom and in that way knew of Earth. She had even been. But just once. Urania looked up at the stars, looking for a falling star. She could make this place home. She could — ‘Move’.She looked up and there was another senshi in front of her. She could feel the Chaos. But it’s what he said that bothered her more. Move? She’s just gotten here! “No. I was here first.”❂

Pax frowned, a little; it was more of a slight angle to their mouth than it was an actual frown. "No?" they echoed back at her in a mimicry of her own tone, followed up with an impatient "No," and tapped their foot on the ground. They could hit her with magic, but that wouldn't make her leave, probably. They were the same rank, so there wasn't a lot going on there that could be used as a pivot. What a pain?? Why did it feel like things were always like this? As soon as they got certain about something, or got settled about something, something else always seemed to get in their way.
"I'm - I'm - it's my spot," they said, "always, there's other benches," and huffed like that firmly conceded their case.Me1ghei now we struggle to figure out how to reroute this into a battle. i didn't think this far.

“Well, if there are other benches, go sit at one of those.”Seriously. It was the last night of the festival that wasn’t going to have clouds where she could view the meteor shower and some random senshi was going to make her move. Chaos, at that. Is this why they were called the Chaos senshi? Were Chaos people just rude? Was all of that Chaos energy just accumulating with nowhere to go and turning people into jerks? She hadn’t actually ran into a Chaos member that had ever really done anything more than be a bit annoying — (oh, sweet summer child) — so she actually didn’t know what to do to make him leave. Would she have to attack him? Perhaps. But she didn’t like to do that without talking first. But he had told her to move, so they had technically talked first. “I’m not just gonna leave. Not tonight.”It was the last clear night. Did he even know what that meant to her? ❂

They looked like an idiot right now, didn't they. Pax always felt they looked like an idiot when they tried to explain - anything to anyone who didn't know them. They just got so caught up in their own head - in the way words came in order - in everything and anything - and people kept saying they looked fine, but those people weren't outsiders or strangers -
"They're too busy," they snapped, more aggressive than they'd meant it to be. "Can't be - can't be around people to watch." Duh.

“I need my privacy for viewing, too, though.” She snapped. Why was she getting so aggravated now? He just wanted her bench. They could share… But this was the last clear night all month. And half the other clear nights prior she’d been at the festival. And things happened at the festival. And… And… She just wanted to view the stars in peace! “I, um, have magic and I’m not afraid to use it if you don’t leave.”She threw a very weak punch Pax’s way. Daekie Edited for Urania’s attack. She is not a good fighter. ❂

Pax sidestepped her punch and looked, pointedly, at her fist. Honestly? They were almost insulted. Did they ever throw punches? No, not really, but if they did their form would've been better than hers!! Jeez. It was like half these people couldn't even run a mile, or something. Kind of embarrassing.
"Wow??"
They didn't really want to hurt her. Not really. It sounded like she wanted the same thing they wanted, and they kind of understood that, and that got through to them just enough to make them hesitate. Not that empathy or sympathy came easy to Pax - to Strix - but they'd been spending time around the most empathetic bleeding-hearts of their family, their siblings and half-siblings and cousins, and it made them hesitate.
"We can - we can both just - just sit on the ground," Pax said. It was a Gordian Knot kind of approach to the problem. "I can - " a snap of the fingers - "if you - if you want." Not that they understood why anyone would want to get hit by targeted offensive magic, but they also didn't understand people all that well, so it was a shot in the dark.

She had never really thrown a punch before. She usually didn’t have to. It wasn’t like she had had a lot of practice or anything. Chaos wasn’t really a thing until the end of her life. And she hadn’t exactly fought any before. Urania, truly, did not know what to expect from a senshi of Chaos. Whatever she had been expecting, condescending hadn’t been one of them. “You’re… making fun of me, aren’t you?”Her cheeks were getting very red now. “Fine. Be that way. You can have your stupid spot.”Then she muttered her spell, a grumbled, frustrated version, but enough to summon the magic, nonetheless. A star appeared under her and she ran away, trying not to cry. Daekie Star’s Step. An ethereal astronomy chart manifests around Urania and three stars become platforms to stand on. For the next 15 seconds, she can use the stars to create a path either vertically or at a 45 degree angle and cross over them. Allies may follow her on this path. However, enemies that try to follow will find that the stars will glow brightly, blinding them for 3 seconds and then disappearing under their feet. Three uses. Fin. ❂

They weren't a very facially expressive person, so the only thing that really conveyed Pax being taken aback was that their eyes widened a little and their brows furrowed. Okay, yes, they had been making fun of her a little, but they hadn't meant it like - hadn't intended her to almost cry. It was just some ribbing. Strangers did it to them all the time.
"I didn't mean it like - like that," they said, hands limp at their sides, and watched her go with a chasing of dismay knotting up their throat.Meighei good to fin here or on yours!
