Urania felt like she had a million questions in her head all at once. Why were senshi being reborn on Earth? What was it about this place that was special? Why had she come here? And why had she not come right when Archideus was first sighted? It was too many queries and she needed to expend that energy somehow. Best do what Erytheia liked to call ‘patrolling’. More like ‘wandering’, at least when the senshi did it. She never seemed to find this Chaos that they were supposed to be on the lookout for. She did feel someone on her radar. Yet she couldn’t make out what kind of aura it was. She knew ‘senshi’ and she knew ‘knight’. She even had an idea of what Chaos would feel like from the strange energy from her world. But she didn’t know what this was. “Well, I’m not just gonna stand here…”And, so, she did what she did. She went straight for the unknown aura. ❂

Had it been wise to leave the dwelling that had been procured for their use during the middle of the night? Lysanna had fully accepted the Commodore's detailed breakdown on what was currently needed to save their world. They needed to find where King Caedus had ferreted himself away to. More than likely it was with those members of Order that had created close kinship with their errant King. Was she perhaps jaded on the entire situation? Perhaps. If what the Commodore said was true, that if Caedus's starseed could be taken back to be healed and reawaken the senshi of Velenia, then why would their King not hesitate to sacrifice himself in order to facilitate the process? That was what a good ruler should do for the good of his people?
The cadet was having trouble connecting the notion that the duty, honor and responsibility that could save Velenia was being withheld from happening because of one individual's "want" to live. Because Caedus wanted to live, he was dooming their entire species. It seemed entirely selfish to Lysanna. In order to at least try and organize her thoughts on this situation and to take in a little more of what Earth was like the cadet had taken to small strolls around the neighbourhood in which the majority of the Vanguard resided. Tonight though she wanted to push the range on where she had travelled before.
Now as she stood in a parking lot, adjacent to an empty field, did the cadet idly glance around before pulling the small axe from her side. The weapon felt as comfortable in her grasp as it had since the day that she had received it and she studied it carefully before tossing it into the air and catching it, handle first. This was good. Even if she had been super busy back on Velencya, there had always been a moment or two where she could squirrel time away to work on the exercise that were drilled into the cadets on safe use of their weapons. One needed to keep the skills sharp. The drills would focus her thoughts, she hoped, as she began to feint and lunge at imaginary foes. Meighei time & place ... around midnight ... and empty parking lot near a sports field.

Urania liked the night because it felt the closest to home to her. It also helped that there were less people out. Less to notice that her stare was like starlight. And so she stared at Lysanna for a bit before approaching. It’s not that she was afraid, but more like she was unsure. No one had informed her about the Vanguard’s presence on Earth. She had mostly talked to Alastor about senshi and Chaos. And Erytheia told her about the factions that existed when he reminded her to be safe. The Velencians were ‘new’ to Earth the same way that she herself was ‘new’ to Earth. Very, very old in that grand scheme of things. But this planet tended to see things from its own vantage point. “Hey! What are you?”Subtly was not one of her better traits. ❂

At first Lysanna was content with going through the motions of her drills but soon she found herself slowing down before completely stopping. The vast majority of her time here on Earth wouldn't be spent fighting but at the same time she needed to keep her skills sharp because one never knew when trouble approached. It was if that thought alone brought with it a potential situation and Lysanna's grip tightened on the handle of her axe as she tensed before taking in the stranger that had inexplicably caught her off guard.
Even as she turned around to face the one that dared to question what she was did Lysanna feel annoyance at how rude the question seemed."That's not very polite you know. Just asking someone "what are you" seems awfully rude." Lysanna wasn't sure if those that were fighting for Earth were even known to be polite but somehow she thought that there must be polite ones, otherwise how would they have existed peacefully together on one world. Maybe this one was new. Sighing and relaxing the grip on her weapon did Lysanna decide that maybe for now it was better to overlook things and she instead studied the individual that had queried something about her."I'm obviously an alien. What about you?"

“Sorry! Um…” The senshi moved in a bit closer eying the weapon. “I was just curious. I didn’t mean to be rude.”Urania was glad that she loosened the grip on her weapon. Regardless, the senshi was not particularly good when it came to self-preservation. If she had been, she wouldn’t be insulting a person with a pointy weapon. “I’m an alien, too. I guess. In the sense that I wasn’t born here. So, I suppose that meets the definition, doesn’t it?” It was the definition. And she certainly felt like an alien with all the things she didn’t know. “I should have asked you for your name first. And where you’re from. And where you learned to fight like that as your skill is really impressive.” She smiled and tried to be friendly, but it was sometimes hard when your mind had eight million questions running through it at once. “I’m Sailor Urania. From that world.”❂

Lysanna's mind was trying to keep up with this newcomer's chatter before she finally made enough sense of what was going on. Her gaze flitted over Urania's form before she hastily made the move to holster her axe to it's clip on her side. From how Urania seemed upon the first minute or so of this interaction there would be no need to keep holding onto it. Still she was wary even as she shifted her weight from her left foot to her right and then back again. The apology that spilled forth from this unknown senshi further caused Lysanna to relax. Obviously societal miscues had been given from both sides."I probably could have been less blunt with my words too. Just it's not everyday that someone comes out asking, 'what are you?' as a means of introduction." Lysanna listened carefully to what was being given up as free information from this stranger before considering what she should divulge in return. To hear that Urania was not born on Earth was interesting but Lysanna had been brought up to date on this strange new aspect of senshi that were showing up on Earth, not being born reborn and awakening on this planet. Her gaze narrowed once more before she relaxed as the other praised her battle skills and she awkwardly waved off the compliment before giving what she hoped was a friendly smile."Thank you for the compliment of my skills. I still need to practice more to be even better. Terran manners indicate that I should at least offer replies to what you've asked of me Urania. I'm known as Lysanna. I'm definitely not from this world, as you've already ascertained correctly. As for my fighting skills ... all cadets are drilled with their weapons. We're taught how to handle ourselves in combat situations. And by we I mean ... the group I belong to ... the Vanguard." Lysanna made a small gesture of extending her hand if Urania wanted to shake hands, but would the senshi of Urania even know about that Earth custom?

“I haven’t really figured out how to introduce myself here. Earth is very different than it was when I was last acquainted with the place. And that was just once a long time ago.”There were quite a few things she didn’t know about the Earth of today. At this point, she knew more about Earth of the past then she did the 21st century version. “Nice to met you, Lysanna.” The senshi shook her hand. This was a custom she was familiar with. Some of Earth’s cultures had used that as a means of greeting even in the past. “I could tell you weren’t from here. But you didn’t feel like a senshi. So, I was a little confused. What is the Vanguard like?”❂

What was the Vanguard like? Lysanna probably could have painted the most rosiest picture of the group that she belonged to but even in doing so did she feel as if this senshi wouldn't completely understand but it didn't stop Lysanna from trying at least. Wasn't it better to try and get a point across, and perhaps fail in doing so, than not doing anything at all? Her left hand trailed down her side to gently touch the handle of her axe before she closed her eyes for a moment. Grounding her focus she liked to think of it before opening her eyes once more to take in Urania's appearance anew. "I'm not exactly sure how much we can now indulge about the organization as a whole but we're a group that is meant to protect our race but also to explore and find solutions on how to fix our own home world, up there," and here Lysanna turned her gaze to peer up towards the darkened sky. Somewhere in that immeasurable expanse was Velencya, the home world that she had found out was dying ... and even beyond Velencya ... Velenia - the true world that the Vanguard was trying to save."Anyways so we're mostly just trying to find answers in order to help those that are counting on us to do so. We have no animosity towards anyone here but we know how to defend ourselves if the situation calls for it. I think though, right now, this conversation is not a reason to defend myself, hence why my axe is back where it belongs." Lysanna had been slowly taking in more of this senshi's appearance as she spoke and she couldn't help but blurt out the first thing that came to mind as she noticed the other's eyes, "whoa, your eyes are well ... something else."

“I’m looking to explore and find solutions for my homeworld, too!” Urania said excitedly. “Though I don’t really have anyone counting on me.”She didn’t really have anyone at all, to be honest. She wondered what it was like to have people to defend and fight for. One time, long ago now, she had. But they were all gone. “Oh! Yeah. I forget that my eyes are different than people on Earth. Erytheia said that that is the main difference between my looks and humans. Said I need to get a glamour before I can go out during the day.” She laughed. “But your’s are a bit different, too, right? At least, compared to humans. And your skin is a nice shade of purple, too.”❂

Lysanna was truly enjoying this interaction with Urania and she gave the senshi her complete attention when Urania made it clear that she was trying to find solutions to her home world too. That and that she had no one counting on her. Oh, oooh. That had to be rough. Lysanna's gaze turned thoughtful before she gaze a check of her comtech to make a note of the time before moving closer to Urania. Something almost compelled her to draw the girl into a hug, but the cadet stopped herself at the last moment. What was it that she was told to do back on Velencya ... oh yeah, stop and think. A scowl momentarily appeared around the corners of her mouth before she pushed it aside. She'd not get upset because she was completely forgetting things. But in this case maybe it was wiser to ask,"Is there anything that anyone can do to assist you in finding solutions to helping your home word? With our group there are a lot of people working on finding solutions. Lysanna's gaze softened a little before she brightened up as Urania commented on her appearance. Well, there was a trick to help with that and she had to wonder what Urania would think if she were to activate her glamour. As much as she wanted to see a genuine reaction perhaps it was best to leave that for another time. Instead the cadet leaned in closer to the senshi before nodding. "It's true. I don't look like I could pass as a human either with how I look right now, but it just felt more, appropriate to be myself on this fine evening. Although I do have a trick up my sleeve that would allow me to pass off as a regular human so if I need to "hide in plain sight", I can. Do you have something like that Urania?"

“Yeah. Kind of. There’s senshi I was introduced to here. He’s gone through the same thing on his world.”Her eyes got a little sad all of a sudden that she hardly noticed Lysanna at all. But it was gone almost as fast as it appeared. “But I do need allies to help on my world!”She was back to her happy self. Her eyes perked up as Lysanna mentioned her trick. She really wanted to know what it was. “I don’t have anything like that yet! My friend is going to find a Mauvian that can make me something to appear human.”❂

Lysanna was drawing all sorts of information out of Urania that was probably known by the Commodore already but for herself it was all rather interesting. The fact that some senshi didn't appear human anymore and needed their own disguises fabricated by Mauvians. In the back of her mind the cadet was curious about what it was that allowed a Mauvian to fashion such a object and she had to wonder about what else these fascinating creatures could do. Was it time to go directly to the source and ask these questions?
No, it probably would be better to read up on things first."It's disheartening to learn that there are other planets besides yours that is being afflicted with issues. What exactly is it that is happening?" If there was anything that Lysanna could do to maybe help this senshi out with problems that were occurring than maybe connections could be bridged out between potential sources of information. In the back of her mind Lysanna was telling herself it was all about gleaning information for her own research but at the same time her heart was saying something else. Maybe Urania could be a friend if she cultivated the relationship carefully enough.

“It’s kind of hard to explain.”Urania thought for a moment how to explain it in a way that made sense to someone who hadn’t seen it. “It happens differently on each world. But a force called Chaos manifests on each world and corrupts it in a way. Ours can from falling stars. It drove my people mad, but I don’t really know what happened after that.”She had been away and had gotten back… too late. “Now there is this dark force that prevents me for entering the Observatory.”❂

Lysanna could only listen in sympathy to the words that Urania was speaking. Perhaps if she had more time to study what was going on she'd be able to do more than just listen. For now though the cadet reached out with a tentative gesture and made a move to pat Urania on the shoulder before she stopped. Would that move even be appreciated?
While she was trying to study human behavior she had noted that friends often tried to comfort the other by gentle touches and while she'd probably not been around Urania for an acceptable period of time, she found that she still wanted to offer comfort. But if she wasn't careful than the actions she made could be taken the wrong way. Lysanna instead turned to her words,
" that's horrible Urania. But it's not the same on all the homeworlds? Is there anything that I could do to help do you think? Maybe someone could find someway to get around the chaos and get you into the Observatory. Is that possible?" It was true that she was still pretty new to everything here on Earth but if she wanted to make acquaintances with everyone it would be better to try and be helpful as possible. Right now she felt like she needed to help Urania somehow.

“Maybe one day.” Urania said. Then she reached out for Lysanna’s hand that seemed to want to do something, but didn’t. She clasped it in hers and smiled, as if just this could change everything. “But I need to get stronger first. I promise, once I do, we can help both our worlds.”Tefla Fin? I’d love to follow up later once Urania powers up!
