It had been a while since he had been out on patrol, but for some reason he had found himself slipping out after he had closed the shop up for the evening–
And for all that it had been a while, the mantle of Falias had replaced Marlin's old jeans and casual jumper and jacket like that of an old friend.
He had found himself down at the park where he used to patrol a lot, back when he had powered up more frequently, but the evening had been a quiet one so far and Falias had found himself turning away and starting to walk towards the park entrance - only to find himself pausing for a few moments before eventually turning back - because whilst he was admittedly out of practice he was pretty sure that he had just picked up on an aura flickering and then flaring into life–
One that felt like a weaker version of his own aura... And it had also felt like it was pretty close to boot.
Iðavöllr wasn't sure what it was about the magic, but it had seemed like each time she returned from her Wonder that she had ended up back in the park–
And whilst once or twice was something that could perhaps be written off as coincidence, after three times it was starting to look like some sort of pattern.
Some sort of magical pattern perhaps.
Perhaps.
Although it was not something that Iðavöllr could say for sure, not when so much of powered life still seemed so very strange to her.
For a moment she found herself wondering how her cousin had dealt with it, given that he had admitted to being relatively young when he had first become powered–
And then Iðavöllr had picked up on the aura and it had distracted her from the rest of her thoughts.
It felt similar to that of Serenitatis, albeit a lot stronger than Serenitatis' aura, the warmth more akin to a blaze than a gentle candle flame.
Her lips quirked up in a small smile at that for a moment as her thoughts turned momentarily to the small light in the other Page's lantern, before fading away to a slight frown as she debated on whether to try and see if she could find the source.
It hadn't taken long for Falias to decide that he was going to try and track down the other knight's aura.
Partly because it had been close enough, but more largely because he had also been curious because it had been a while since he had talked to a fellow knight–
And whilst trying to track down auras was not something that had ever been an exact science, it hadn't taken too long for him to come across the source of the other aura.
The woman hadn't been one that he recognised, although Falias wasn't too surprised, because it had been a while since he had last patrolled and it wasn't like he'd really known that many knights even back in the days when he'd been somewhat more active.
He raised a hand in a small wave, the evening light catching and glinting off his bracer and seemingly drawing her attention as her head turned towards him.
Falias walked closer, and waited until he was more in speaking distance to call out "Evening."
And it seemed like the source of the other aura had decided to find her instead, the glint of light on metal catching and drawing her attention–
Well at least Iðavöllr was assuming that the blond-haired man that was walking towards her was the source of the aura and not someone dressed up in some sort of elaborate cosplay - even if the cloak that fluttered slightly in the evening breeze was something that probably wouldn't have looked too out of place on an elf...
Well that and he was wearing an awful lot of mistletoe given that Christmas was a couple of months ago and whilst she couldn't be too sure without staring, it kind of looked like the blond had wings of some sort in his hair.
Iðavöllr shook her head a little ruefully knowing that she was hardly in a position to comment given her own outfit, as she gave a small smile at the other's friendly greeting "Good evening."
She hesitated for a moment before adding "Can I assume that you're powered too?"
Falias couldn't help but be a little amused at the other's directness "I am" he admitted with a smile of his own "I'm Falias - Falias Knight of Earth."
He found his eyes drawn to the bag she was carrying, because it was a very nice bag - a very nice bag with what appeared to be the edge of a gardening glove poking out of it - in fact it kind of looked like the brand of gloves that his stepmother liked using in winter due to the added thermal layer–
And it definitely looked out of place, because the bag didn't really look like something that someone would take out into the garden with them - instead it looked more like something that someone would carry when going out.
"Nice to meet you Falias" Iðavöllr replied, "I'm Iðavöllr, well Iðavöllr, Page of Polaris to give the full title." And a part of her couldn't help but feel a little curious because she had never met an Earth knight before.
But then again she hadn't met a Knight-knight before either.
Still Iðavöllr wasn't aware that Earth had knights.
She made a mental note to ask Liryn about it next time they met - or maybe even Ragna, because she figured that if anyone would know then it would probably be her blue haired predecessor.
Asking Ragna would have to wait until the next time that she went to her Wonder however, and from experience - or at the very least her own previous efforts - Iðavöllr knew that she was going to have wait for a while before that happened.
"Nice to meet you as well Iðavöllr" Falias said, "I don't think that I've met a Polaris knight before."
"Oh?" The question slipped out without thought "Have you met many knights?"
"I wouldn't say many" Falias said, "But I've come across a few." He thought it over for a moment before continuing "I've come across knights from Earth, Chronos, Cosmos, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and Mercury" he frowned thoughtfully for a moment before adding "Although I may have come across some others at Olympus."
Because there had been quite a few knights gathered during the few Knights nights that he had gone to.
Earth, Chronos, Cosmos, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and Mercury. Iðavöllr making a mental note of each mentioned name as she silently added it to her growing list of things to ask Liryn and/ or Ragna about.
"Yes it's a Wonder on Mars." Falias said, he hesitated "Look do you mind if we perhaps walk and talk?" He gave Iðavöllr a slightly rueful smile as he added "It's just that my aura's somewhat noticeable and so it might be best if I'm not stopped in one place for too long."
The next word had her pause "Olympus?"
"Great," Falias waited until Iðavöllr was ready and then started up walking again - and whilst he was very much out of the loop, maybe he could tell Iðavöllr a few things - things that others had shared with him or that he had found out on his own that he thought that she might find useful–
And maybe he could also find out why she was wandering around with what appeared to gardening gloves in that rather nice bag of hers.
Iðavöllr nodded "Okay" because whilst she'd been actually planning to make her way back home she figured that she could stay out for a little longer - especially if it meant finding out more stuff about being a knight from someone who most likely had a much better idea of what they were doing given that he was an actual Knight-knight "I can do that."
