Ends: October 7th, 10pm EST A few foxes have stumbled their way through the fog and into the Luminarium territory, which means Hyperion has accepted their presence for one reason or another! Their stories are unknown and their past is unwritten -- something you can fix! Come on in and maybe you'll leave with a new lantern-wielding fox of your own. Rules:
Anyone can enter. Yup! Doesn't matter how many foxes you have or if you even have any at all, anyone can enter this. 1 contest is specifically for Luminarium newbies, but it'll be indicated!
No trading/swapping prizes. You either keep your prize or you give it away.
You can win [1] fox this event! Please use the preference form found below before entering anything.

Gender is up to you! While the lines have assigned sex, it is up to you their gender!

A fox has found themselves wandering within the Luminarium fog, stumbling around until a Scout evidently finds them. Accepted by Hyperion and thus more than welcomed as a new tribe-member in Luminarium, the question really is; why were they accepted?

Both of the BCRs above were found in the fog, stashed neatly together. Whoever they belonged to is unknown, and their relation to one another is uncertain. Lionel, a Carer for the tribe, has taken both BCRs, officially adopting them with every intent to give them as much love and care as he can. (Read more about Lionel here!)

Fox Name: Éloy (A French name, meaning “to choose.”)
Fox Gender: Male
Fox Rank: Psychologist
Personality: Éloy cares very little about the past, and would rather focus on the present. When it comes to himself, at least! He’s content with the life he has been given by Lionel and the tribe, he really is, and is honestly a bit... scared to ever learn what may have led up to this point. He would prefer not to know, truthfully. Now, ignoring that huge mystery... Éloy is a naturally curious individual when it comes to just about everything else in life. He loves to ask questions, figure out how things work, and quietly mull over why certain foxes are the way that they are. There is always some sort of cause behind every fox’s behavior, whether they realize it or not. His questions don’t necessarily need answers in the end (Éloy knows that not all of life’s mysteries can be solved), but he does feel a rush when he does get down to the bottom of things.
With that natural curiosity and interest in studying other foxes, Éloy will eventually become a psychologist. He’ll work hard and help a large number of patients... but this will all be done selfishly, based on his desires. He will happily assist others if it’s a case that interests him, but quickly diagnose what he considers to be the “less interesting” cases, holding no actual interest in the foxes themselves in order to move onto more complicated and challenging cases. This will eventually come back to royally bite him in the a**: he’s going to experience a major case of burnout, and will no longer enjoy his work (well well well if it isn’t the consequences of my own actions). He’s going to be in that weird “I’m being insensitive but I haven’t realized it yet” bubble for a while and be stuck in a rut until someone finally points out the problem: it’s him. In time, Éloy will realize just how insensitive he’s been towards patients, and work on changing his own behavior for the better! He’ll end up becoming an individual that other foxes truly feel comfortable discussing their lives and problems with, and will find himself enjoying being able to help these foxes. That “patients are just patients” mindset he originally had will be replaced with “my patients are individuals, and I will help each and every one of them to the best of my ability because I care about them.”
Thoughts on Lionel: There was never a time in Éloy’s life where Lionel wasn’t present. Lionel is his father - always has been and always will be - and he wouldn’t have it any other way. He adores him, and wouldn’t hesitate to verbally snap at someone or leap in to protect his father, should the need ever arise! Éloy is tolerant of any spoiling, coddling, or parental worry tossed his way - Lionel is his father and a carer, it’s his job to ensure that children in the tribe grow up happily, especially his own. Éloy... is also very much the child who will try to be a strict vegetarian for most of his childhood in order to make dad happy (that’s it, that’s literally the entire reason), but have legit tears running down his face because he HATES most vegetables. Please give me a family mealtime moment where Lionel or Other BCR point out that Éloy hasn’t touched his food, and this poor boy breaks down and gives a long winded speech about how he’s been “LIVING A LIE ALL THIS TIME!!!” or something, and his family is just... perfectly fine with him not being vegetarian lmao. Maybe he doesn’t realize that he has a choice??? Éloy would be a pretty well-behaved kit and have most things figured out in life, but man, that would be his one really embarrassing childhood moment.
Thoughts on Other BCR: Raised alongside them, Éloy thinks of the other child as their sibling, and will always insist that they are family, related by blood or not! They are his adoptive sibling and he truly cares for their wellbeing, no matter how they view him, end of discussion. Any suggestions of romance by those outside of his family will have Éloy reeling back in disgust and confusion, because that’s his sibling, yuck.

Why Are They a Good Fit For Luminarium: A diligent lover of plants he has a keen eye for gathering plants and knows how to harvest plants in such a way as to leave remnants for regrowing later as conversation of the land is important to them. After all the reason they left their home so long ago was the elder of their last tribe was reckless and cruel driving the foxes to scour the land harvesting everything and anyone like Korick who advised them to slow down and conserve what was there were ignored or kicked out

Personality: She is a natural at being an active and attentive listener when foxes came to her to get things off their chest, whether it be about their issues they tackle during their day to day lives or just want to come by for a friendly social chat. She has always believed that if something is bothering you the best way to feel better is talk it out with someone you trust and know and never place judgement on the fox that is going through it, life is not always perfect there will be times where you get frustrated about things not going your way and she will be here when needed.
As she grows she will develop the skills she needs to be a good psychiatrist to her tribe members, she probably be a perfect psychiatrist but she will always have a ear if her tribe members need someone to talk about what is bothering them.
Thoughts on Lionel: As far as she could remember Lionel was always around when she needed him and when she reached her major milestones in her life he was there through it all. She is pretty confident that he will be around as well as she grows and starts to build her own life with her own lifemate and her own family. She will always see Lionel as a father figure that she never knew.
Thoughts on Other BCR: Aaliyah will always see the other as a sibling she never had and will be there during the other child's major milestones and will be there when a ear is needed. Being raised with the other she now knows what a sibling figure is there for and will always be protective of the other.

What Brought Them To Luminarium: This gentle fox has a history of mental illness, specifically chronic depression. He was deeply affected by it at the time he was found in the swamp and was saved from death. It is a chronic condition including chemical imbalances and requires medication. That said, he found that he also benefits from periodical counseling.
How Do They Feel About Luminarium: Starflower is deeply grateful to the tribe for helping him get well again. He firmly believes that they saved his life, and that without their continual help he may eventually slip away into the swamp again. This has become his sanctuary and home, a place he can be himself and give back to the tribe while exploring medicine.

What Brought Them To Luminarium: Cyri grew up in a very unaccepting world, her parents never truly wanted her. She was an accident that her mother resented, blaming the girl for the fact that her father never stuck around the way her mother wanted. Cyri accepted for a long time that she would never be good enough for anyone.
When her mother died she was lost since she had never had freedom before. She wandered for months, unsure of the right plants or meat to eat, unsure if anything could be poisonous or not. She eventually had to eat these things regardless, and unfortunately she picked the wrong kinds of things. She would have died if it hadn't been for the Luminarium tribe finding her and getting her back to good health. However, it wasn't only her physical health that needed healing but her mental as well.
Because of the tribe she found out that she could be loved, and that she could even love herself. She wanted to help and give back and thus wants to become a psychiatrist to help those like her, wandering lost in a sea of despair.
How Do They Feel About Luminarium: She feels that Luminarium is the home and family she never had growing up. She wants to do everything she can to give back to those who never turned their back on her.
