Once upon a time there was a town to the northwest of Atlas named Kingsberg. It was an industrious town, and a large one at that. After the fall of Atlas Kingsberg was enslaved by a villain faction based in Atlas and renamed ₭íɳgsⱠσƈƙ. The city was mostly located above ground, but had a large industrial area underground in a chasm that was kept naturally warm with geothermal vents. After the fall of Atlas the aboveground city was obliterated and the population moved underground where they could find safety from the cold and grimm alike. Now the city works hard under the brutal rule of bandits.

The attacker should create a combat topic in the ℂombat Ғorum and notify a mod who will decide what the chances are of escape by picking a percent chance (10-100%). If the person being attacked decides they want to attempt an escape they get to roll 1d10. If the mod says they have a 30% chance of escape then they must roll a 7 or higher, and so on. No matter what you roll, if you roll a 1, then the attacker gets to fight you.]
Scarre wasn't sure what happened. Did he say something wrong? Were they scared of the vehicle? He wasn't sure what to say. He felt like he did something wrong, but maybe it was natural distrust. Maybe he was, just untrustworthy because he was military personnel. He didn't feel threatened even though the situation was getting a little tense. Luckily, Xanthe was able to calm down Ylva and allow her to get inside. They would take the back which was fine. He got nervous when she brought up about anything against tribal people. "Oh No, just making observations and conclusions of what we might see is all" He commented trying to smooth over the offensiveness he may have given off.. After everyone was inside, he got an answer from a library which he figured she was joking. Letting out a sigh of annoyance and in defeat, he would get into the driver seat and they started to head out towards the location.
As he drove, the road was calm for the most part. However, the closer they got to the town formerly known as Kingsberg the road was starting to get rougher. "Hang on!" He yelled as he kept them on the path. He was doing his best to avoid running into what looked to be vents or pipes that were popping out from the ground. He failed miserably, having the truck knock into many of the pipes but the truck did survive until they reached the destination. With beaten but still functional, he would look at his scroll and put the truck in park. "We are here....We need to find the opening" He explained simply.
OOC: Roll 1d20. Add +2 for any perception-type skills. Any enhanced sense counts and it stacks. If get 16 or Above you will find an entrance to a Chasm that has a mechanical elevator that works by cranking.
Ylva did not concern herself with what others thought of them, but she did admit that her partner's interest made her curious. At least until she was distracted by the land vehicle. Still in a less-than-friendly state, she would look to her companion as she proposed marking the truck. Calming a little, the wolf would follow her trusted person; she would've laughed, if she wasn't still coming down from being so on edge. Taking a deep breath, she would then take the knife offered and carve what looked like a pierced mountain."Thank you, Xanthe,"The petite wolf-girl said softly, calming; though her nerves were still on edge, she was not growling or refusing to get in at least. Inside, she would mostly be silent though. Listening to the shark girl's smart mouth was soothing for whatever reason as she looked around at the interior."It's not like last time..."Ylva tried to reassure herself; claws subconsciously cutting the seat as she let her aura down for now.
Pondering on Scarre's question, she frowned as they drove."What tribes were here,"The petite wolf-girl inquired of their own people of the land. Hoping to distract herself, it was mostly quiet after the military human answered their questions and the drive was a bit too peaceful. The roughness near the end of the drive had the wolf tensing and growling."Great...just great,"Ylva thought, pissed, on edge, and just not amused as her aura went back up. She would wait until they were at a full stop before exiting the ******** death trap, re-strapping her weapons and backpack on...Shaking when out, her ears were back against her head as she just walked away (if not stopped), not sure where she was going but she just needed space...

Xanthe grinned when Ylva said she was feeling better, it was nice to know her show had done more than draw a line in the sand between them and the office. It hadn't been her intention to start a fight with the man, how was she to know he was going to take offence from the baseless accusations she had spouted. All he needed to do was deny it, now she was beginning to think he was a giant sympathiser. She decided to keep an eye on him regardless. "Alright then, stereotyping tribals, gotcha." She laughed at his nervousness. They seemed to have gotten off on the wrong foot, but there wasn't much to do about it now but keep doubling down until he got it. As he hadn't answered her question about the other sights and dismissed her quest to find a library she moved to the back of the truck to watch the landscape, keeping lookout seemed more productive then freezing in the back. She contemplated her library plan as she scanned the horizon, sure on the one hand she was getting petty revenge for a minor slight, but the problem was whether or not he would even know that the book was gone. Perhaps some sort of library returns slip would be required. She chocked it down for later brainstorming as the seemed to be reaching their destination.
Xanthe hadn't needed to be told to hang on, whatever counted as bumpy in the front cabin was nothing compared to the truck bed. She was crouched in a corner spear in on hand and trying to use it to lever the rest of her bags back into place. It might not have been the most comfortable ride, but it was certainly interesting. Unsurprisingly, Ylva took the first opportunity to get the heck out of dodge and disembarked almost before the engine was off. Xanthe took a moment to uncoil herself, climb down and readjust the the idea of stable ground before putting her backpack on. She rested her spear against the truck as she looked around. "Where exactly is... here?" Smoky steam rose from the various pipes and vents that littered the area, leaving the whole area bathed in a grey fog, it took a strong gust of wind to blow it away for just a second to reveal that they were standing at the top of a deep chasm, deep below and rising up was a monstrous city. The wind had also briefly shown the path to an elevator before the fog had won out and rolled back over the area, obscuring the chasm from view again. She collected her spear. "Watch the edge, Ylva. We should stick together in this." She led the way to the elevator and after waiting for everyone to get in started to turn the handle, powering their decent.
Why were they making this difficult? He felt there were making negative assumptions and he wasn't doing anything to stop the negative stereotypes from coming forth. It didn't help at all once they got to the chasm. Scarre ignored the question coming from Ylva. He heard rumors, but he didn't want to speak as if he knew for sure for a fact. Instead, he just pays more into being the a*****e. Once the truck stopped and he hopped out, he would feel a major ache while searching. Luckily, Xanthe was able to find what was described. He followed her towards the elevator and once everyone was in he watched as they descended down thanks to the handle. The cranking of the handle would cause the elevator to continue at a steady pace down into the chasm. As they descended down they would see the metropolitan type of buildings with what looked like active mills and factories. This definitely didn't seem like a place that was abandoned. Which could make someone wonder...what were they heading into? Before the elevator made it all the way to the ground it could be seen that the noise of the elevator attracted a few guests. Some Beowulf (about 6 of them) were gathered around in a pack looking at the elevator. These were different from vale though. Their body looked to be adapted to the cold. Icy aesthetics plated around their normally black and naked hide. "Looks like we got company"

He didn't answer her question, but she didn't really expect him to. So, mostly she was silent unless it was to answer Xanthe. Now that she was free, Ylva frowned as she was pulled from her exploration as she was called back, and with her anxieties calming she felt a bit more like listening. Following into the moving cage, her ears would twitch and the metallic scents would obnoxious as the screeching."Not good,"The petite wolf-girl, as years of hunting and being hunted in the deserts and caves had taught her caution.
Having a bad feeling about this as they lowered, she would pull out the goggles and set them over her eyes before he had to warn them. Tinted goggles on, her sienna semblance would be a surprise to everyone but, Xanthe and herself as her company were blinded. Luckily, the military man had sent them riding back up before any could get at them but she was probably getting lectured."Trust me. I can see,"The wolf-girl said as they were going back up.
As the only one not blinded, she would take both by the hand and rush out as soon as the doors opened. Of course, it was not an easy task as the shortest, she would indeed get stepped on a time or two until they were at the truck, by the time it took to go up and to the vehicle, the effects should also be hopefully lessened enough for Scarre to drive away like a bat out of Hell and back to report at the Fort.
