Xanthe had been excited for the festival for a few weeks now, although had been trying not to show it as she allegedly was getting a reputation as a bit of a pyro. You start one little fire in the middle of a crowd and suddenly every time you pick up a box of matches people give you weird looks. It wasn't like she was into fire, it was just very pretty and... She stopped, as she realised it was a slippery slope justifying it internally and instead decided that it was better to not start. Her reason for being excited for the festival didn't stem from the fire aspect, that was purely coincidental, it was because once again there would be people around that would paint your face like the legendary clowns of old. Men and women who donned the white face and rainbow garb of pure terror, it was her understanding, that clowns were so terrifying that to some people it invoked a primal fear. Naturally the early worm gets the bird and she had been first in the line. She had gone with a stylish star and moon combo on the eyes with a classy huge red smile.
She was waiting for her friends next to the entrance to the carnival, it had all been planned in advance but frankly between the thoughts of clowns and her sheer bliss at being able to don the face, she had been a little hazy on the actual plan. Xanthe was admiring a board with a map on it, and was mentally deciding what she wanted to do, obviously archery was out, anything that involved arrows by themselves was probably a bad idea when put in her hands but the inclusion of fire on top. Well if they were going to do it, maybe put it last. She wasn't sure what was involved in the duck pond but hoped it involved catching actual ducks, she had tried it in the park a few times but honestly it gets boring when you always win. But here, with maybe a timer and a crowd, she could really show off. By comparison, balloon popping sounded rather mundane but assumed that it had a twist to it, like the balloons were at the end of some sort of assault course or were armoured somehow. She thought she would be more excited about the idea of an underwater Ferris wheel than she actually was, though at least she could show the others what it was like under the sea.

Ylva was curious about this so-called Elemental Festival; this year's ironically was Fire. The only difference was that they were not allowed to make them."Xanthe, why don't you go on ahead. I'm almost done with this skirt."She had told her friend to go ahead while she finished sewing the hem and didn't want to hold her friend up.
After the mission, she had thought about getting into contact with Sass again; having given her scroll number at the end of it. Though with missions and other school activities, it didn't leave much time to catch up; so this was perfect. She had asked her companion about inviting someone with them of course, so it was set. Texting Sass and Xanthe, she would let the girls know she was on her way once she was dressed and her bag ready. Travel had gone relatively peacefully from one city to the next with the escort as well. Though her collar did get a few stares...or maybe she had something on her face?
Either way, it was a fun ride. To the pier~! She would arrive at their destination...but she would head to get celebration paint first. Heading to the the booth, the young wolf would wait patiently to get hers. Choosing a more tribal paint, she would then sniff out and try to sneak up on her teammate."Grr, hey Xanthe."Ylva growled playfully before smiling up at her tall friend."Today should be a good day,"She thought as she looked around at the activity, tail wagging as she did.

Elemental based themes for celebrations and festivals were.... Something this academy had a knack for picking out to do. The previous was a water festival, which Sasselia had participated in the water fighting. Tch... No one could surely forget how the headmaster had cleaned out the labyrinths by flooding them! She certainly hadn't, given the position she was in through the tail end of that fighting. Back at that time.. She was still on a team. The memories of then, had trailed to this fire themed one, which had her decide to remain away from the actual fights. This time around, she was planning on taking everything easy. How unnerving to do so. However, despite not having a team, she was grateful to have an invite by another regardless. She and Ylva had met before during a recent mission. Such a mission had left Sasselia rather compliant to have passed her number along to the young wolf for another chance to chat once again. Having been from the same homeland, and seeing just how Ylva was during the mission, Sasselia felt rather warm and gracious. To have been able to hear from her again had been a lovely surprise. Of course she was going to be up for the chance. Just what sort of carnival was to be expected this time around? The only way to find out was to go meet up with her and her companion, and see for herself.
After a morning of getting ready for the occasion, Sass had been the last of the three to arrive at the meeting spot. Pinning her hair up in a ponytail, her hair clips were around the tie that kept her hair up. Carrying a long strapped, but tiny black purse, Sass had chosen to wear a light blue summer dress with butterfly pattern, and sandals for the occasion. Upon her own arrival to the festival, the exciting aura the carnival's vibe carried had effected her both positive and negative. Positive, in the sense of this being a good, clean, assortment of entertainment, courtesy of the academy. Negative, due to her shyness, and her lack of being able to handle physical contact or touch, should anyone end up umping into her ever. "H-hopefully I can avoid accidently bumping i-into anyone..." Biting her lip nervously, her red hues had begun to shift from one point of interest to the other, regarding the entry way to the carnival itself. Ylva was going to be the easier of the two to find, as she had never met Xanthe quite yet. This was another part of the carnival she was looking forward to. Meeting new people carried the fond sensation of future memories to come. Despite her shyness, having the chance to meet more people filled the anticipation to the more positive sequence, which brought her to moving through with this exciting meet up even more than before. All it had to take was some scoping about, in order to find the two. When she had managed to find them, both were already dressed really sweet for the occasion, with an added bonus of face paint already upon their face. The pair were also in the midst of conversing, which has Sasselia wait a moment before approaching, in order to let them both get a few words out to one another. "G-good day Miss Ylva!! I-I'm not too l-late am I? I hope I hadn't kept either of y-you waiting!" Bowing her head in hello, Sass rose her head back up with a smile. "I am adoring the choices you both had chosen for the occasion. Pleased to be able to meet you as well Miss Xanthe. I have heard nice things a-about you on passing from others. I do hope we can have a wonderful time as well~."
█ *NAME ▬ Gravity Entrapment █ *AURA COLOR ▬ Royal Blue █ *DESCRIPTION Sasselia's semblance is a gravity and anti-gravity element by way of glyphs. She is able to flip the gravitational pull within the area of her glyphs to either lift things and allow them to float, or make things heavier, by way of making the gravitational pull increase in weight. It is a perfect semblance for trapping Grimm and enemies, though in order to make the glyphs, she must make physical contact with either her hand or her weapon, which allows her to channel her semblance through her bullets or glaive. When her glyphs are laid onto the battlefield, it takes one post for the glyph to be set: the glyphs white on first appearance. The glyph is activated the moment it turns dark blue in colour. Starting at level 0, she can make up to four glyphs, that are 5 meters (15ft) in diameter. Each level, the number of glyphs she can make, and set are increased but the sizes remain the same. Her glyphs are not invincible, as they can be taken down by humans a level or more stronger than her, or by those who exceed the 600-pound limit. The pressure of weight for each level is shown: - Level 0 - 150lb - Level 1 - 300lb - Level 2 - 450lb - Level 3 - 600lb
█ *LEVEL 0 ▬ (0-99 posts) The glyphs are a diameter 15ft wide.(5 meters)
Sasselia is able to lay out four traps that last for four posts, unless broken early on. There is a two post cool down once all her glyphs have been fired out. She cannot shoot out all glyphs in one go, but able to fire up to half the number of glyphs at a time.
The glyphs can either: Gravity: Bring down 150 lbs worth of pressure onto objects or enemies. (Cannot hold anyone or objects over 150 lbs) Anti-gravity: Lift objects, grimm, or people up to 15 meters up in the air within the circumference. When the semblance count ends, the person in the trap slowly descends near the end of the count. She is able to keep the glyphs apart from each other by up to 20 meters.
█ *DRAWBACKS ▬ Nerve paralysis kickback on a art of her body. It is a rigid type of paralysis that makes her immovable for 2 posts when it kicks in. This takes effect after every semblance usage for two posts. ▬ When using glyphs, she must use her weapon as a beacon, or fire a bullet with her semblance channeled onto it to help her point and aim her glyphs for summoning. ▬ The glyphs cannot be moved when created until level 3. ▬ She cannot move objects exceedingly over 600 pounds. ▬ Her glyphs can be neutralized or destroyed by any enemy exceeding 600 pounds, or by enemies one level above herself. --- Sasselia has to choose the effect on whether there is going to be gravity or antigravity set in the glyph before firing. ------- To break her glyphs, those above her current level can easily use their aura to break the glyph. Those on Sasselia's level or lower, it takes 2 posts of focusing aura to break the effects effects. Those with enhanced, or above average strength in skill have a more high resistance.
Xanthe had been deep in thought preparing her speech for their inevitable trip under the waves, it was very important to her that she present the world under the sea in it's best light, because most of the time it was easy to see the bad. Like how it was huge, and oppressive and even big fishes get swallowed whole without a trace. Then again, perhaps she had been conditioned to not venture too far away from her island and the rest of the sea was alien by comparison. It was as she mulled over introducing them to the many, many horrible underwater deaths before or after their foray into the depths, that Ylva snuck up behind her, causing her to almost jump out of her skin. "Yah!" She spun around quickly to look at her friend, taking a moment to check her heart was in fact still in her chest. "Hey! You." She couldn't bring herself to tell her not to scare her so instead made a mental note to get her back later, something harmless, involving water. "Yeah, do we get to keep the ducks we catch in the pond?" She asked with sincerity, looking forward to grilling hers later. "I like your face paint, also went with a warrior I see." It was only natural, warriors were cool.
Xanthe had been told that Sasselia was going to be there as well and had been looking forwards to meeting her. And equipped with a rough description of her, Xanthe spotted her approaching them through the crowd. Well it was either her detective sense or the fact she was the only person who wasn't giving the two face painted warriors a wide birth. "Thanks." She interpreted. "Likewise, but just Xanthe, and Sasselia in kind?" She hoped it wasn't going to be a Miss Sasselia deal all day, politeness would lock in whatever the girl wanted but it seemed way too formal for a carnival. "What things?" She inquired, slightly more forcefully than she had intended, but curious what people talked about her in connection to. "Nothing bad I hope." She added. "I'm sure we will, I was just saying to Ylva how I'm looking forwards to catching a duck. I expect you both brought your A games." She grinned at them, blissfully unaware what the duck pond game actually was.

Hearing her teammate's yelp, the wolf could not help the laughter that escaped. Smiling to her friend after her greeting, her tail continued to wag happily. Ylva knew all too well that Xanthe would try to get her back later; and honestly, she didn't mind a bit. Her question was a bit odd, but she figured the young woman was referring to the game."I don't think the ducks are alive. Thank you,"She commented before thanking her ally for the compliment. Looking at the shark girl for the first time, she was intrigued with her choice of paint."Pretty,"She thought and told Xanthe so. Obsidian eyes would look around at all the activity around them though as her ears twitched; so many intriguing sounds, scents, and sights...it was hard to choose what to go to first.
The young wolf's ears twitched as she listened for their third companion to arrive. She was not wanted to be surprised...or else everyone within ten feet of her would be blinded; not a good idea with fire around them. It was a pleasure to hear the familiar footfalls before turning towards the girl."Good to see you as well, Blue. And thank you. Will you be getting your face painted too,"She greeted politely before looking to Xanthe then Sass introduced themselves before inquiring of their latest companion. Xanthe seemed worried, which only amused the wolf girl."I can tell, we are going to get along just fine,"She thought, hoping at least that it would be so."All good. So, what would we like to do first,"Ylva inquired kindly, looking from one to the other.

Such an interesting topic to have walked in upon. What was this about ducks, and in regards to whether there were live ducks or not? No judgment was upon them in the slightest. It was more so an inquiry of curiosity. The instance of first thought had been the wonderment on how it had come up in the first place. An interesting thing to pass the time with at least! In regards to the face paint, as long as they were having fun with it, that was all that mattered. Perhaps to join in properly, she would pick something out as well, The idea certainly was there.
For now, the introductions, and getting comfortable with one another were a priority. Glad to be called Blue, just as before, the attention about face paint had returned coincidentally. "I-I most certainly would love to do so. I've never had the chance to try it out. I've been always wondering j-just how it could look, and the excitement i-it could build" Bowing respectfully to Ylva, her face had went from normalcy to a complete shade of red by Xanthe's request. "O-of course!!! That's perfectly alright! I-I'll try my best to do the same. B-bad habit of mine I am afraid. Sorry!!" With a shy, embarrassed smile, the young woman had to hold all willpower in from the other bad habit to form. When Xanthe however, has pressed to clarify on what sort of things, the bad habit of shy fidgeting had made itself known. "I promise it is good things! Like how collected you are, and well composed. Good stuff, I promise.""Calm down Sasselia." Sending a mental thought to herself, she had to force herself to take a few more mental steps back, and calm herself down. The amounts of people about, and being unused to more busier places like this had that effect. Listening to Xanthe and Ylva's pretty voices helped that calm remain, as the clarity of what they were speaking on earlier had come to be. Being unsure herself on what a duck pond was, the excitement of catching a duck had her spirits up to normalcy. "Oh!? I-I love the sound of this! Having one for a pet would certainly be interesting. My A game is a quality I like to have. I am up for doing th-this certainly~."

Xanthe Shaw
Xanthe raised her eyebrow at the notion that the ducks might not be alive in the pond. "That sounds grotesque." She blurted out after dwelling on the image of a pool of deceased birds in the middle of a crowd of ambivalent onlookers. The smell alone would be horrendous. "No, no, where would be the game be if they weren't alive." She concluded vocally. Luckily Sasselia offered a welcome distraction. "Never?" She paused for a second. "Actually on second thought I only got it done last year because I lost at that tournament." Lost was an apt word, but suicided might have been more accurate. She grinned. "We should hook you up, I suggest going with a battle clown, like me. But they do all sorts." She added the last bit but had honestly no idea what other things there were, she had been extremely focused on getting clowned up, or rather as clowned up as society would allow. "Nice!" She really hadn't wanted to use prefixes all day. "Oh, I was hoping... Well that's good too." She wouldn't have admitted it, but was slightly hoping some of her more infamous deeds would have shined through. Add a little spice. "Archery now or at the end? I don't think the show's on for a little while. We could resolve what is at the dunk pond now." She offered.
OF COURSE, they send me to a place I do not know. I...no. The others came here too. I know what my assignment is I just bitter over that lost to that knight dude he thought to himself as he made his way towards the carnival. He thought be more fire involved for the celebration. As far as he knew these type of things did not occur in Vacuo at all. At least, from what he discovered with his teachings growing up. Popping a pill into is mouth, he still felt slightly weak but was able to manage. His bead necklace would sway with the matebond attached to the end. His bruises still there from his fight but more a testament to the disease he had. He looked to be in bad shape but he was far from upset about it. In fact, he seemed almost in a good mood. Making the trip the the carnival, he would look around to see if there was any food that be both beneficial for him and delicious. He had received a map of the different food vendors but was unsure what he wanted to hit. He would head to the ferris wheel that went underwater first and ride on it. During the ride, he would make his plan for food domination!!

Ylva was pleased to have two comrades getting along, and it was nice to see Sass outside of a serious situation. Xanthe's disgust made the wolf girl laugh softly."I don't think they are dead, but fake,"She was looking forward to seeing which state the ducks were in either way though. Smiling to them both, though showed surprise when hearing Sass say she'd never done the face paint before."I agree, it's never too late to try,"She thought with a nod as Xanthe encouraged the gentlewoman to try it...Though she would tilt her head slightly at the mention of the warrior clown."Yes, if you wish, you should. We shall wait for you here,"She retorted kindly.
On the topic of Xanthe's reputation, she could tell her teammate was a little sad that her infamy had not grown, which made the wolf smile warmly."One fire will not be enough to tarnish our names...What is that,"She thought affirmatively before a strange yet familiar scent caught her attention; Vacuo sun, sands, and bovine. Wanting to follow it, but not wanting to leave her friends, she would stay put for now and look to the girls."Sass can get her face painted first, then we can see about archery after...maybe a spicy treat after that,"Ylva suggested politely.

Ora walked down the boardwalk. She got some looks as she was one of the only ones wearing long sleeves. She had picked out a lovely pink dress with a cream top to wear under it. She didn't want to advertise all the scars across her body. The top was thin enough to only warm her up a little. She had little bells around her waist. If Felix was here...he would have told her she was cute. She missed him...
She would go into line behind a massive man. Damn, she was a freaking demon, and this guy was huge. She couldn't even see around him. He had to be a full foot taller than her. Damn. She wanted to look around to see if this man was a faunus. That had to be the only reason he was so tall.
After a few days of the festival going on, Azriel finally decided it was time to check it out. She was wearing her usual red mini skirt and a black shirt and a belt-like collar together with her cross neckless, while she was very excited to check out the stalls and the games around, she made sure to not show it so much, she did not want to draw any attention to her and have people looking at her for better or worse reasons, for now, she just didn’t want to stand out. While going through the festival Azriel’s eyes were captured by an ice cream booth, she slowly approached it like a moth to a flame and got herself a large ice cream cone, a delicious combination of different kinds of chocolate ice cream, she would then pay for it and leave the booth fully satisfied, in her mind that’s it! she can go back to the library and continue reading, but as she was about to leave she would feel suddenly stopped as the cone flew from her hand and after a small moment of grief she realized what has happened, she was so focused on her ice cream that she bumped into a girl with a pair of horns from behind, Azriel would take a step back and bowed in apology “I’m sorry, I was not looking where I was walking. Please excuse me” she would say completely soul crushed and embarrassed from the situation, she both bumped into someone and lost her ice cream at the same time! That cone was not cheap at all. tabOOC — ♦tabtab knight fight! tabOUTFIT — ♦tabtabthat! ^^ tabPOST COUNT — ♦tabtab # 0 1 3 tabEXOSKELETON — ♦tabtab retracted tabSEMBLANCE COOLDOWN — ♦tabtab text here
Something felt off for the buffalo and he was entirely sure what i was. He could not deny that being in a new place was weird and being looked at was a different experience when it less about your health and more about what faunus he was. He did not let it get to him though. Little bells could be heard, but Nayati would not turn around at first. Instead, he stayed waiting. The next pod was opening up and was about to be put it. That was when he felt a slight push against his back and the crescendo of bells heavily accented. Turning around, the red head would look to see two individuals that stuck out among the others. One in a cute dress with bells which he heard earlier and the other who lost her ice cream and had red hair and horns it seemed as well. The second girl did not seem to be in line though. The person in charge of the ride would not know that. Before anyone could complain, he continued to whisk people into seats.
NEXT!! HURRY UPThe voice stated as he tugged and practically tried to rally the 3 into the next cart like some cows. since Nayati was so large he considered 3 for the cart was better for room sake. He did not ask or care. His job was to keep the lines moving and that was what he was going to do. If successful in getting the 3 in, he would slam the door and start the ride. The male over the ride looked around 6ft 2 but had major muscles on him. He did not look like he liked his job at all and looked incredibly strong. One would guess he was a shark faunus.
Ora felt something cold on her back. Wait...why was her back cold...She would look behind her, and a woman about a few inches taller than her had an icecream against her back. Oh no, did it get on her shirt?! She didn't know how to clean out stains well. She would have to try to get to the bathroom to assess the damage. She would try to move towards it when she was pushed forward.
"No, no! That's not the way I want to go." There was an aura of white around her lower back. She was surprised that she was being pushed into a car. She seemed to be pushed into the cart with the taller guy, and taller red haired woman. She would look to the red haired girl. Once the cabin was locked. The Sheep looked panicked. She would look over to the guy in the cabin. "Please look outside for a little bit, and only outside." The girl would take off the under shirt that she was wearing, showing all the scars on her upper torso. The scars were all over the place, to the point that it was hard to see how the girl even moved. She still had the halter top part on, and the only mark of her bra was a tube that showed on her back. She would look at the red haired girl. "Please tell me you know how to get rid of stains?" The sheep looked desperate.

Dead ducks, live ducks... The dead ones sounded highly disturbing to imagine. Hopefully they had nothing like that of the sort. Such games could only have her wish to avoid them, if they were going to see any dead animals in the process of what's supposed to be fun games. All that blood and gore was something she could make an easy pass on saying no about. The whole understanding she carried about this all together was clearly misunderstood entirely. Having no experience with these sort of things had those curses to them. Sass could only relax once both Ylva and Xanthe had confirmed the same cases, "Okay... Fakes one's sounds much better to know." The signs of relief were clear as day upon her face. "Long as they are fake, I can c-certainly deal with games as such!" That much could be said, and was more preferable of a topic to stick with. Her admittance to having no face paint done in her life was looking to be the main topic of change instead, just after the seemingly news towards their works having been on the low on Sasselia's end. "U-uh oh... I-I wasn't trying to hurt anyone's morale!!!!" Thinking this in her head, the most one could do was bow ones head respectfully. "I-it's not that I may or may not have heard of antics... I-I just have a tendency to avoid prying or eavesdropping... A-as I have an excellent memory, and can remember a little too much for my own good, once I pick up to something.".
To both women who had asked, she had softly nodded in embarrassment, almost shying away. Having expected laughter of sorts, both of them were super friendly on the matter, with Xanthe mentioning a battle clown. Was that what her face paint was, instead of a normal clown?? Who knew there could have been more than one style!! The sad fact on her end, was the lack of chances to try, due to family related problems. How happy she was to know that this time around, there was no brother or two that could tease, or a disapproving father who was too stern. Nothing was going to stop her from wanting one too! With ideas being thrown at, her face getting done was a top idea, followed by the idea of archery. "I-I can definitely work with these ideas. C-can we also be able to try the ring toss? I-I hear it's rather fun too." Pitching in an idea of her own, she awaited the answers from the other two, before making any decisions as well for this occasion. There was curiosity on her end, as to what sort of spicy treat she was speaking of. Was this related to steak!?!? Steak, and all sorts of meat related treats brought out the enthusiastic meat-lover out of her!! Oh boy~! Or perhaps this was a more spicier food, such as a delicacy related to hot peppers!? She was fully intrigued to know an answer on this, with of course, no outward question on the matter.
