24-42. If a Wingleader, you were so focused on chewing out one of your wingriders who pulled a stupid move, that you actually miss catching a large clump of Thread that's falling right past you. A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP! If a Wingsecond you actually are on top of things today! You're here to look out for your wingmates and your Wingleader, and in this case, you manage to do both! Quote your Wingleader, fellow Wingsecond, or Wingrider and nullify any negative effects & negative HP from their most recent roll! This can include Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls!
J'lel followed their Wingleader's directions, but there was something the other rider had missed... With a sharp intake of breath, they indicated to their dragon about an unseen danger. Fortunately the warning came just in time, sparing Ar'ad and Bronze Turoth from an uncomfortable fate.

1/5 You're so focused on flaming Thread that you miss a clump of thread blows up on the wind -- beneath you! If a greeen, or blue, you manage to jump Between ahead of it. Thankfully, your smaller size means you're able to avoid getting harmed! [+1 Between Accuracy]
Li'tt didn't much care for Threadfall in the same way most riders didn't - there were those who were made to feel much more alive for it, somehow, but he wasn't one of them. But his nerves were better than to wind themselves up tightly in the thick of it - rather, he was sharp and focused. The middle altitude wings still had plenty of thread to clean up, and keeping Vuurth on task wasn't a hard feat at all, the blue was eager to flame anything that even got close to them without much guidance from his rider.
Be alert, Li'tt reminded, even as he looked around. They also had winds to contest with and his caution was rewarded when he noticed the clump being blown up beneath them and urged Vuurth to safer skies.

2/5 A larger clump of Thread falls down hard and fast. Thankfully, your dragon is on top of it, and manages to hit the target with a large belch of flame just as it passes. [+1 Target Accuracy]
I'm on it! Vuurth declared before Li'tt had even spotted the clump. He whirled to look as the blue caught the large tangle in his flames, the sight of it scattering to dust seeming to buoy the blue's already battle-high mood. Better pace yourself to keep that up, Li'tt teased, answered with a flood of thrill across his bond.

3/5 As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation! If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up pulling a wing muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated.
They'd been prepared for the winds - mostly. Vuurth wasn't the largest of dragons - just barely middling for a blue, even - and his muscles had never been meant for brute-forcing his way through things. Still, they were able to keep in position well enough. But the twang of pain Li'tt felt in his own shoulder told him well enough how well they'd handled it.
Let's try to not push so hard next time, Vuurth - I don't think your wing can be pushed that hard again.

4/5 Thread falls, and a sneaky strand winds up chewing on your wingsail. You pop Between to ease the pain, and come out flaming. It hurts, but it's small tubers compared to what it could have been! +1 Pain Resilience]
The slightest touch of pain on Vuurth's wing made Li'tt push them both, briefly, between. However, the vigor of the blue seemed to have not been dampened even slightly - something his rider noted with amusement. Is there anything that slows you down, Vuurth? he asked affectionately.

5/5 You notice one of your wingriders is in need! Three clumps of thread are heading straight for them, while they are flaming down another impressive sheet. Ah, but your dragon is clever, and quick, and manages to flame all three down with short spits of fire. If a green, or blue rider, the thread turns to harmless ash, and both of you can continue on your way. [+3 Target Accuracy]
So eager to prove himself - as though he hadn't already - Vuurth was on the watch for a chance for daring rescue. Not with such distraction that he couldn't flame what was right in front of him, but it kept him alert to those around him. Li'tt keeping his head about him to stay attentive was also helping and it was the young man who pushed his dragon towards one of their preoccupied comrades when the moment finally showed itself.
Got'em! Vuurth thrummed once the clumps of thread had been flamed to dust before the pair moved back to their previous position.

It was going to be a long fight, and R'min was worried. Not so much for himself or Antereth, but for C'sar and Iliandith. The young bronze would have to fly a full eight hours and that made for an exceptionally long and dangerous day.
Fight well, bronze one. I expect you to return in one piece, and no less exhausted for it. The saucy blue reached out to Iliandith, though his words were laced with fondness. Both rider and dragon new they would all be wiped out and utterly spent after Fall--and who knew what the casualties might be?
Alas, there was little time to worry once they appeared above the mountains of Redoubt Hold. Immediately, a guest kicked up some Thread, but Antereth was prepared--and a quick hop between saved their hide.
Mr Cheri
From blue to bronze.

As they continued the fight, Antereth's eyes suddenly flashed red in irritation. Discomfort rolled through R'min's link with him, and he squirmed in his seat. He knew what that was. Some strand had landed on Antereth, and they needed to clear it off. Between! He commanded, a firm mental picture in mind.
Thankfully, the three breaths it took, turned the offending strand to dust. You all right? R'min confirmed, trying to see the extent of the damage.
Thankfully, Antereth was a trooper. It is nothing to me.

9. As you're fighting Thread, you see your nearby wingmate in danger. You immediately blink between, falling out of formation, but hoping to save them! 2. Regardless of color, you appear close by, and flame the clump of thread successfully! [+1 Between Accuracy]
Turoth rose with Ar'ad and their wing, ready to take on their age-old enemy. The large bronze was both excited and worried about today's fight as it would be long and it was the first time his youngest children would be participating - at least a bit - in the battle. He wanted to see them succeed but he knew this would be trying for them all. Indeed, even the most hardy of bronzes and golds found these longer fights draining.
As they appeared at their first altitude Ar'ad already spotted a wingmate in trouble. He pointed them out to Turoth and together they made the decision to go after the Thread rather than call it. It would be too late if they tried to warn them. Jumping between, Turoth hoped no one else would move from formation while they did. Thankfully everyone was right where they left them, allowing the bronze to flame down the Thread and save their wingmate a bit of trouble.

13. Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]
No sooner had they pulled off that rather impressive feat than Turoth grimaced as he bit down on his tongue. Hard. Ar'ad winced in sympathy and settled down into the saddle, knowing they'd be in for a tough time of it until the pain receeded.

The wind is fierce and fighting you. Greens, and blues will struggle against it, trying valiantly to keep in formation! [+1 Stamina]
The wind was the third most threatening in the sky -- with thread and possible friendly fire topping that off. She might be young, but Negoncath is spritely and lithe, and she's curling her body around to find a more manageable gust of wind that doesn't quite want to buffet her around so badly.

The pair continued to weave among the thick patches of Thread. Though their eyes were on the sky and airspace surrounding them, Antereth reached out to one of his wingmates: The battle has just begun, yet I'm certain you will pull through. Keep up the fine fight! I do so enjoy watching you fly. And if there was a bit of a flirtation in his words, it couldn't be helped. He was loyal to his bronze--but a little honey never hurt in pulling up one's spirits.
