This is an ORP thread for Phase one of the Interruption event. If you'd like your character to make more connections outside of your one on one threads, of if you requested not to be matched up, this is the place for you!

There was a soccer field at the edge of town, where city was just starting to turn into suburbs. There were a few apartment buildings around the edges of it, but they were smallish. The other buildings were townhouses.

If someone had attended Cybele's previous training event, they might have recognized the place. Her setup this time was similar. She had fiddled with some switches until the floodlights had turned on, giving plenty of visibility even though it was getting quite late in the evening. There were a few folding tables set up by one of the goals, which had a few snacks on them. There were chips, vegetable platters, and candy, as well as a suspiciously large bowl of tuna salad. There was also a full table just for the water cooler and several packs of sports drinks.

There was a poster taped to the snack table with all of the matchups listed in neat handwriting.

Glitnir/Kerberos
Metis/Megrez

Spica/Asmodeus
Hypatia/Pendour
Nephthys/Sadachbia
Cor Caroli/Cybele
Lepus/Sidouer

Fomalhaut/Miyamoto
Makahon/Kitty
Valjean/Siwa
Sumner/Sawtooth

Hania/Liryn
Realta/Arthur
Carmen/Etoile

The senshi herself stood poised by the table with a clipboard in hand. If the antlers on her tiara or the confident nod that she gave to each person as they arrived weren't enough to confirm her identity, she introduced herself soon enough.

When it seemed that most people had arrived, she stood up a little taller. "Hello, and welcome, everyone," she said. "My name is Cybele. I'm the one who organized this event." Her smile was bright and professional.

"I'll be making the rounds to introduce everyone to their partners in a moment, but feel free to mingle in the meantime," she said.

Leave it to Megrez to crash the event with a veritable posse. She just about bounced onto the field and up to Cybele with Sadachbia, Glitnir, and Cor Caroli in tow. "Look, Cybbie, I made it! And I brought friends!"

Glitnir gave a short, sharp chuckle. His mood seemed unusually damp. "Yeah. Our respective communication devices were going off like crazy when Megrez found out."

Sadachbia yawned loudly, then shook her head and gave a little full-body shimmy. "I am not used to being up this late. Or early. Whatever time it is." College had really done a number on her sense of time and maybe her sense of everything else. Or at least her sense for powered things. "Anyway, nice to meet you, Cybele. Megrez has been talking a lot about you." The rust felt awful on her, and she wanted to go out there and find her purpose as a senshi all over again. With any luck, there would be something out there for her to make progress on.

Cor Caroli mimicked the yawn, completely by accident. "I feel like I've been asleep for weeks and just woke up for this." He looked at the group around him: Megrez, practically radiantly bouncy, Sadachbia claiming rust but looking like a coiled spring, and Glitnir not exactly glittering. The differences were palpable.

Meanwhile, over by the entrance (but a few feet inwards), Makhaon was making twinkle eyes at everyone gathered. So many senshi! So many awesome people! And some of these awesome people felt powerful, too, like the boss lady and the group near her. It was both super cool and kind of intimidating. She flashed Boss Lady (Cybele, her name was Cybele) a grin and waved to indicate her presence. She was cute. Makhaon had a hunch she was taken, because cute and powerful people had a tendency to be taken. To shake the irrelevant thought out of her head, she looked around, eyes alighting on a lost-looking redhead a few steps back. "Hey, you're here for the training thing, right?"

Fomalhaut seemed surprised that someone was actually talking to her, and she was relieved that there was another basic senshi in the mix like her. "Yes, I am. This looks like the place, don't you think?" She offered Makhaon an awkward smile. "It seems the festivities are about to begin." It was probably too much to describe the upcoming events as festivities, but Fomalhaut honestly had no idea what she was getting into. There would probably be sparring, but what did that even entail? All she knew was that her attack sent that one guy flying that one time and it made her feel kind of bad.

Suddenly, a brown streak shot past the girls at the front and leapt up onto the refreshments table. When the motion blur settled down, Carmen was perched on the snack table, observing everyone. Her little cat alien heart was beating rapidly from the excitement of seeing so many senshi in one place. "Good evening," she said with some volume (but not too much), mostly as a way of informing Cybele she was there. Someone would probably complain about cat butt on the food table, but tough, too bad. She wanted a front row seat to Destiny City's current flock of senshi (and a few stray knights).

Metis

It was sad when she realized she couldn't recall the last training event--or powered gathering in general--she'd really been apart of. Or well, at least ones that hadn't been involved in illusions or assaults on Negaspace...

So the opportunity to attend something like this? She was on board in an instant. Realta had agreed to join her, also intrigued by the idea of socializing more and the opportunity to train--or at least see some senshi go at it, and offer at least to help mask the auras.

The teal and black garbed senshi arrived quietly enough to the soccer field, taking in the small green energy waves rolling from the expanse of grass, and the copper figures streaked in silver or brown tendrils. Yellow energies of guardians, and she looked down to the main source beside her as the Savannah remained. Leaning down slightly, she ran a white-gloved hand over the lilac fur, and the two ventured forward.

Metis followed Realta's lead, feeling how the guardian moved against her leg to somewhat guide her towards the tables where most of the people were already beginning to collect--if not entirely necessary, as the energies lit up the inanimate objects. What was useful, though, was when the guardian perked up at the poster taped up there.

"Ah, looks like pairs were already made." Metis tilted her head so her ear was more towards Realta to listen to the soft, accented voice. "You will be facing... Megrez? I am unfamiliar with her." She continued to read off the listed names, and Metis nodded after a moment.

"Thank you." She giggled as she felt the vibrations of the guardian's purrs, the tall Savannah rubbing herself against the senshi's legs.

To the woman across the table though, she offered a slight nod in greeting. "It's good to meet you, Cybele. Thank you for arranging all of this." It was wonderful, from her perspective, to see others mingling and still getting Order to... well. Organize. Even a little.

----

Réalta

Though she wondered, if she had a place she actually called home, it would be the apartment Lilith lived in with Raja. The Golden Retriever, Realta found was wonderful as a pillow. But she still did her hunts and patrols, still mapped out the corners and crannies of the city in her time, bit by bit. Not a lot of socializing, though.

It was her mistake, and one she was happy to fix, when given the chance as Metis brought up a training and gathering event being hosted by another senshi. The guardian was thrilled, and there in the soccer field, she purred, flexing claws down into the turf, nose twitching as she took in the scent of cut grass, painted field lines, various snacks, and unfamiliar people.

Acting as an impromptu guide-cat wasn't something new to Realta, though she was aware it was far less necessary for Metis than Lilith, it still was a natural movement to walk with her body against the other's leg, using mutual cues to signal turns and halts. She read out the text of the poster quietly, her own ears perking as she read out her match. Arthur. Huh. She hadn't met other guardians really, so it would be entertaining to say the least.

Would they actually be fighting..?

Her muscles flexed and her back bowed in a stretch, causing the sword marking down her back to extend. Her tail swayed slowly. At her shoulder, she was fourteen inches tall, towering over a number of other stray felines she'd met in her travels around the city. Were other guardians the same..?

She backed up slightly to stare up at one already perched up on the snack table, somewhat bemused by the boldness.

She didn't have much hope for this evening, she didn't exactly seem to make or keep friends who were also senshi, they just seemed to vanish. She knew they all had lives, she wasn't some idiot, but it should be important...right? She knew it should be and yet she hadn't powered up in a long while. She had no one to patrol with and had lost two friends, at least she'd thought they were friends, and with the loss came a lack of wanting to power up. She didn't see the point of it. Nothing serious was happening and with no one to go out with...what was the point?

But she knew it was important, she knew it had to be, so hearing about this she had decided to come and see if anything or anyone could motivate her again. Maybe she'd make a new friend...or see one of her old friends. The senshi of vampires looked like a doll as she approached the slowly forming group of senshi and knights. It was an interesting mix but she was certain she didn't know most of these people...no surprise really.

Keeping silent she watched them all, for now, would anyone approach her? Would someone put that spark back into the senshi?

Spica had been looking forward this event since she heard about it, finally she would be able to meet more senshi, and specially the senshi that are here now. She still felt a little shy though to start talking.
She didn't really recognized anyone as it had been so long she was away from her Order activity.
So she kind of hoped some people on contrary would recognized her and make the first step, it may be rude to ask this way but well she didn't want to be rude going speaking to people without knowing them.

She will see a little later if she some people feel more open to that. In the maintime she looked around to see what is next.

But she kept in mind that she come to get out of her shell so she will need to put a little effort to do so.

Perhaps Cybele shouldn't have been surprised at who approached her first, but her careful smile managed to soften a bit as the red-headed Eternal came over with a few new faces in tow.

"Megrez! You really did bring friends. I'm impressed. Hello, Megrez's friends." She waved, and looked each of them over. They hadn't offered names yet, so she did her best to guess, given the information sent in. Fewer knights had signed up, and only one Mars Knight, so she had the feeling that this one was Glitnir. The senshi were harder to pin down, especially with the aura dampening starting to take effect,

"Sorry about the time," she said, instead, although the smile didn't quite fade. Being sleep deprived was just part of this war. "I tried not to make it too late, but I didn't quite want to be too much of the talk of this neighborhood, either." She glanced towards the houses, and hoped that the buffer zone of trees and backyards would be enough to keep them from getting noise complaints.

The arrival of another senshi kept her from second-guessing her choice of location for too long. Her gaze lingered on Metis's blindfold, just for a moment, but then she nodded. "It's a pleasure," she replied, back to the more professional tone. "And you're welcome, of course. Making connections has helped me quite a bit, so I decided to do what I could to pass that on."

Valjean didn't expect to recognize any name son the signup sheet, never mind the one that happened to be across from his. As expected, nothing stood out, but he hummed and noted the one there anyway. A hand went up to adjust his ponytail, grown a little shaggy over the last few months and finally long enough to be pulled up.

There were plenty of people here, which meant plenty of opportunities for good practice and for getting to meet people he'd never have had a chance to otherwise.

------

Asmodeus grinned. This was her first proper outing as an Order Senshi, except for little patrols here and there, and she loved it. Hati wasn't here, which was too bad, but it meant that she couldn't cling to what was familiar. She idled her way over to the snack table and grabbed a few pieces of candy, idly snacking as she waited for pair-off announcements to come down.

-----

Kerberos took a look around, and smiled. This sort of event was exactly what he'd hoped to see Order try; bringing people together to train and get to know each other. This was the type of thing he needed to do more often, too--as an Eternal Senshi, he ought to be out helping people.

He hadn't done this, but he could participate, and help make sure everything went smoothly if necessary. Besides that, he wanted to keep a weather eye out for Chaos; there were far, far too many ways for this to go wrong, and this many people...well, he hoped the cats were able to suppress their auras effectively. He could see a few, and that was reassuring, but he knew too much about what the Negaverse was willing to do to feel totally safe.

Spica decided to move toward the table, being anxious made her hungry, and luckily there were some vegetables. As she was a vegetarian she usually don't pick up on chips or candies without seeing the ingrediant list first. No complain here though, she was happy the one who organized seemed to have thought about everyone.

She was eating some tomato when she spot the guardian cat on the table. The only one she have ever met was the one making her a senshi.

So she got curious and went toward the little furry one.

"Hello' she said, not really sure how to start the conversation.

Noir Songbird
Kitty bothering Valjean

Click. Click.

Kitty leaned his hip against the edge of the snack table where the match up sheet had been posted. He couldn't care less about the sugary treats and drinks that had been set up for everyone to partake in, but he did care about those that approached to see who they'd been partnered with. Kitty didn't recognize any names or faces (obviously- he'd only had yet to ever meet the Guardian Namielle in terms of powered individuals), but by some magic, his senshi phone seemed to know who was around.

Nami had dutifully informed him that if he used this phone, he could register Order contacts by taking pictures of people. Then they'd be able to send messages and communicate if powered up. It seemed only beneficial to have as many contacts as possible, just on the off chance he ran into trouble while out.

So that was what he was doing.

Click. Click.

Right as passerby turned their focus fully to the sheet, he snapped a quick pic. It wasn't really the classy or polite thing to do, but Kitty justified it to himself by saying that it was why they were here. To "network" and train. He wanted contacts? He was getting contacts.

Once satisfied with those efforts, he slipped the phone away into a space pocket and turned his attention to his most recent contact acquisition: a blond man with bright blue eyes and a smattering of freckles. A sly smile crept its way over Kitty's face as he shifted his weight to flick the long, translucent sash away from his legs. "Nice shorts, friend," he cooed by way of greeting.

Sleet Tempest Snape
Sawtooth bothering Nephthys

It was only by some miracle that Sawtooth had even gotten the message that there was to be some type of training event. He'd only barely retrieved his ring when a delicately hand-written letter appeared before him of the training's announcement. A part of him had assumed it was a message all knights received as a sort of "welcome to the fold, let's get down to business" situation. But the spirit of his wonder had assured him that no, it hadn't come from another knight of the past or present.

But what convenient timing! He should surely attend. Other Order members of the present would have real and valuable experiences they could share with a new Saturn knight. Sawtooth couldn't refuse such a welcome and wondrous invitation. It may help him to get a feel for what his place may be in this ongoing struggle. Or so the spirit said.

But since Elias had never missed an opportunity to mingle, it didn't feel like Sawtooth should, either.

He had no idea how to approach anyone else at the gathering. The first wave of aura he'd felt from the group had seemed well beyond the power he'd been expecting, and the whole lot of them were surely much more well-versed in the magical happenings of Destiny City than he was.

(A real pain, to be sure. Sawtooth wasn't thrilled at the thought of people knowing more than him and lecturing about it.)

Many seemed occupied with their organizer, Cybele, and another handful looked like they already knew and got along with each other... The spirit had wanted him to try and fit in, but it already felt like there was no way he could get involved in the thick of this...

Perhaps if he started small, the rest would follow. A girl on the outskirts of the group caught his attention, and Sawtooth ambled over to her. "Might defeat the purpose of a "connections" event if you try and stay away from everyone, huh?" He offered. She was a pretty thing in an elegant dress, but something about her seemed a little... sad. He notched his head in a roll of his shoulders. "Are you waiting for someone?"

Miyamoto didn't know why he'd come precisely, he wasn't planning on remaining amongst these senshi. But he supposed he might as well see even more reason for the change he was planning, to see just how disorganized they were. He didn't know what he'd remember when he changed over, he wasn't even sure what outcome he was hoping most for, but if he remembered his powered memories than this might be worth it...somehow.

As he approached the group he shook his head, best not to think about that right now, he should be focused on what he was doing here tonight and whoever he'd be sparing against. He figured that for now this was training and would work for him, maybe it would even make Wolframite proud that he was already trying to train and get better.

Smiling at the idea he brushed his bangs back from his face. It looked like a fairly decent gathering...but how would they all interact together?

(Open for interaction. Just know he will change sides eventually...so maybe drama in the future?)
PostPosted: Tue Aug 25, 2020 9:21 pm

At the approach of someone, a knight, the senshi of vampires focused her blue eyes on them for a moment. Shaking a head at the question. "No. The only two I know have vanished." One likely to handle the real world, and only that, and the other....the other she didn't know. She couldn't say where the senshi of madness had gone or why she'd just vanished. She just hoped Kallichore was alright wherever she was.

"Why aren't you joining the main groups, I mean it would make more connections than just me." And while she might be a super senshi she was also not the most active, or knowledgeable. Sure she knew some things and she's done some things...but not as much as others, and she knew it.

"Or are you waiting for someone as well?" And thus hanging back until someone else, whoever he was potentially waiting for, arrived. A lot of people were here with other people, making this into a social event as well.

There was no way that Liryn would have missed an event like this - but it was an added bonus that Cybele was the one who had put said event together because he considered the green-haired eternal a friend.

He wasn't the first to arrive, the flickers of aura that he was picking up on suggesting that there already others gathered as he padded closer and closer to the soccer field venue - and a part of him wished that Athene been able to make it as Liryn would have quite like to introduce the quiet dark-haired eternal friend to Cybele - but still there was always next time - maybe even later in the evening next time as Athene had mentioned trying to meet up with later–

At least if he could finish up the jewellery project that he'd been working on as Arian in time that was.

Purplish eyes took in those that had gathered as he tried to find Cybele amongst them in order to say hello, even as he also noted the other senshi and knights, almost bouncing on the pads of his paws as he made his way through–

Liryn thought that events such as these ones were good for making connections and a part of him wondered if any of those gathered were into space travel.

Which in turn led to him wondering on whether they would potentially mind a furry side passenger.

He half-bounced, half-padded past a blue-haired eternal before pausing "Hi" and his voice was as cheerful as the purplish eyes that looked up at the transcended senshi "Have you seen Cybele by any chance?"

User Image Sessrumnir regretted this already. There were already too many people for him to comfortably want to attempt small talk, and surely if the guardian cats let down their guard, this place would light up like a beacon with senshi and knight auras.

He’d debated on ignoring even finding out about this training thing taking place, if they could even call it training. These were just a bunch of children throwing their fists and magic at each other.

But in the end, Sessrumnir stood just in the light near the shadowy edge of the field, arms crossed over his chest, and cape and helmet pooled in a pile at his feet. It was too hot to wear them, and would get in the way if he did attempt to offer help to anyone who could ignore his bitter expression.

There were very few he recognized. Metis was one. She was at least capable and from what he could tell she knew what she was doing. There was a guardian cat with her as well it seemed, but he didn’t recognize them.

And although he couldn’t recall if they’d ever interacted, he did recognize Liryn, if only because he often saw the cat with Athene - another he doubted if he ever actually interacted with, but he’d at least seen him around for years.

He recognized Cybele too, again not so much because he’d talked to her.

Okay, so he really didn’t talk to many people, but at this point in his life he doubted making friends would help him or anyone else. So why was he even there? Well, he would have been awake all night thinking about how this could potentially end in disaster and he wanted to make some attempt to keep that from happening, although he knew quite well it was just anxiety talking.

Pendour hovered towards the edges of things, the way she tended to. She'd come out, ultimately, to look for connections, but there was no harm in watching for a few minutes. She watched the Eternal, Cybele, and the excitable types that seemed to gather around her and her tables. She watched the other senshi and cats who seemed to keep their distance before starting their own, quieter conversations.

The piece of paper with the names on it caught her eye, but she wasn't able to make it out from this distance, and she wasn't about to go elbowing her way through.

That was when she caught sight of someone a little different, someone with fewer ribbons. A knight, maybe, although it was hard to tell with the auras muffled the way they were. She walked towards him, her footsteps light, and she spotted symbols on his boots, which gave her more of a clue.

"Hi," she said. Her voice was naturally soft, and she turned her head to a certain angle so her scars didn't show so much. "Are you Jupiter?" It had been a while since she'd looked up all the symbols, but the Jupiter symbol was just like a four. She remembered that. "Somehow, I've never met any Jupiter Knights."
