Name: Nadiya
Stage: 4 - Minstrel
Race: Earthling - Water
Gender: Girl
Sexuality: Bi
3 Base Traits: Intuitive, Inventive, Dreamer
Personality: A very intuitive soul, Nadiya has learned to expect things at all times. Even the faintest shiver down her spine tells her that something is off and away she goes to make sure that a younger sibling hasn't destroyed her mother's favorite vase! She believes that what you feel is strongly related to reality and her gut instinct is often correct. Often this makes her the family's lucky star, the one they always go to before making some torn decision to see which one feels correct with her. She's also very good at reading people due to this natural instinct and because of such always knows what stories to tell, especially to her siblings. However, this does make her very prone to actions that go against logic, sometimes for either the good or bad. After all her gut instinct isn't always right.

Raising younger siblings result in having to become very innovative. Stories, ballads, all the ways to amuse her four younger siblings forced Nadiya to expand her mind. She was always one to think "outside of the box" before, but now she is an expert at figuring out quick solutions. Hiding things from her parents while growing up became a hobby and it's most likely her that is fixing something behind the scenes for her siblings. Once more though, this steers her away from standard reactions and approaches resulting in a more unique answers. For those reasons she does appear as a bit strange to others, even her own family sometimes.

Being so overwhelmed by her siblings forced Nadiya to learn to live outside of her own world. Not physically, of course since she wasn't one to bail out on her family when they needed her, but rather mentally. Rather than spending time learning a trade or listening to her brother and father debate, the girl has taken to dreaming about far away adventures. She has a rather optimistic air about her and can easily be carried away by romantic ballads.

In a way it shapes her up into a hopeless romantic who just wants to be swept away...

Not that her family agrees with that of course. They're a hard working bunch, while Nadiya prefers to daydream just a little bit too much for their tastes. When she was younger she was determined to go out and find her own fairy tale. Her desire for adventure took her to pursue her passion of music across all of Tendaji where she eventually landed in Belrea as a popular songstress.

Description: Slender and petite, it's strange to see that she can boss so many siblings around. At 4'9 she is also shorter than most in her family as well. Her voice, however, can be projected loudly as can her lightening fast kicks.
Clothing: Anything in shades of various greens and teals
Accessories: A belt made of golden beads, it was a gift from her mother when she was a child.

A traveling scarf gifted to her by Ahren when they parted and he gave her his blessing to go off and learn music...

History: Nadiya's family lineage started in Oba as her mother was a slave to a prestigious family. Young and innocent she didn't know what to do when the war freed the Matori and found herself reunited with distant cousins back in her homeland. There she was introduced to a hardworking tradesman who stole her heart. While much in love neither of the pair were prone to show such emotions and focused more on working hard to build their home.

When Nadiya was a child it was just her and her older brother, Ahren, for the longest time. At least it felt like the longest time for the girl. When her brother was just an apprentice there came Yira and then the triplets. While they were just babes, Nadiya was helping to clean the house and care for them while her parents worked. Ahren was already was taking up trade as a traveling rogue and quickly started up his own business leaving Nadiya alone in charge of their siblings.

In her own way then Nadiya took over the role of mother and found herself constantly running back and forth on errands both inside and outside of her home. Secretly while in the markets she would often be distracted by traveling bards and often she would come home later than planned. Eventually she was caught and chastised for getting so easily distracted, but as Nadiya grew so did her love of music. Her most cherished present is a flute gifted to her by a traveling rogue who was inspired by own of Nadiya's own spontaneous ballads.

As a result she often began sneaking off in the later hours of the afternoon, while most were preparing to sleep so that she could sit in the cliffs and enjoy music. That hobby quickly became her passion and she set off in her later years to explore the world of Tendaji. Collecting stories, songs and learning all different types of music led Nadiya to Belrea where she became a popular musician.

Along the way she picked up a dear companion who she was certain that she would spend the rest of her life with. However, the battle with the Dretch resulted in their separation and she has not seen him in the past three years...

Some quirks/habits:
-Lightning fast reflexes, in a way it's like she can teleport anywhere that there's trouble. (Must be a factor of having so many siblings to keep up with)
-Has a very musical voice, almost like bells.
-When irritated she does the traditional hand on hip and tapping foot gesture.
-She loves music and will often sneak away from home to play on a flute she was gifted a long time ago.

The Story So Far

After leaving her family in Matori, Nadiay traveled all over Tendaji to pursue her love of music. As the years passed, the girl grew up into a fine musician and found herself attracted to the new land of Belrea. She became a popular musician there before getting pulled back by her brother, Ahren. Coming home to Matori allowed her to catch up with her family and with the help of a Yaeli knight she avoided talks of an arranged marriage.

What she didn't expect was to fall in love with Jolanta.

After the talk with her family Nadiya prepared to return to Belrea. Much to her surprise the Yaeli man decided to follow her! The two confessed their feelings for each other and ventured to Belrea together. Those months together were beautiful and Nadiya cherishes them. Then came the battle with the Dretch and Nadiya found herself separated from Jolanta. She hasn't seen him since and is venturing away from Belrea to try and find him...

♥ Forlorn ♥

And just like that he was gone.

When Nadiya held out her hand to the figure in the mist he simply dissipated. Every night it was the same nightmare. She would be walking through a dark fog, her gaze desperately searching for the man who had claimed her heart so many years ago. Each time she would get so close and then just like the mist he would slip through her fingers. She wanted to call out to him so badly that her throat ached. It was like she had swallowed broken glass and her throat burned with the effort as she tried her hardest to yell his name. But no noise came from her lips. The only thing to pass was the sound of the ragged gasps that she woke up with, the silent sobs shaking her body as she curled up tightly in her bed. Nadiya would clutch at her legs, her knees nearly touching her chest as she tried to control the sobs that wracked her body. He couldn’t be gone, he just couldn’t be! She had spent a whole year waiting on him to return, her shows in Belrea growing more and more scarce as time passed and her worry grew. Eventually she had opted to not renew her contract and had sailed back to Tendaji to seek out what had happened to her lover. He had left Belrea to fight the Dretch but when he was supposed to have returned back to her side, he had disappeared. No one knew his whereabouts.

She even went to Oba, her search taking her to the guild where he once worked as a mercenary, and it was there that someone brought her the news. They believed him to be dead. Dead. The word had echoed on her lips before she collapsed on the spot. It was after that moment when the guild announced him to be dead that her world became silent. Not so much in the fact that she could not hear but more so that she could not make any noise. No more musical melodies left her lips, no regular speech and none of her usual upbeat attitude and positivity came from the Matori bard. She was almost like an empty shell with none of her former personality showing at all. Mourning had claimed her spirit and the heartbreak reflected in everything. She had no drive to eat afterwards. Her meals laid untouched by her bedside and she barely left the bed for the first few weeks. It was better to be numb to the whole world than to feel the pain that ripped her apart on the inside.

Ahren was worried for her. At first he had thought to give it a couple of weeks, their return to Matori would surely help to lighten her spirits, but then as time passed the family realized that something truly was wrong. Nadiya simply could not seem to speak. The heartbreak had broken more than just her happy spirit, it had stolen her voice. Doctors came back and forth to the manor in Matori but none could seem to get the girl to rouse from her illness. Aphasia someone called it. Heartbreak another declared while a shaman even dared to say that the spirit of the dead had taken her voice as punishment for leaving him alone. Shaking off all of their failed attempts Ahren found himself pulling Nadiya away from Matori and back towards Sulburi where he hoped the bustling city life could revive her spirits.

In Sulburi she had some semblance of a living spirit. Ahren helped her to at least start taking better care of herself, forcing a meal here and there to try and keep her from completely starving herself, and buying new dresses and outfits to keep her appearance from being too ragged. Nadiya would just let the attendants help her out as they stayed in their apartment in the upper city. She was like a living doll, her gaze dulled and her lips silent even when they were dressed with the vibrant colors of Oban attire and makeup. Most of her time was spent just sitting on the balcony, her elbow propped up against the ledge as she listlessly stared out over the city. Ahren had been nervous about that at first, but so far she simply seemed to enjoy watching the life below. Not that he could tell since she would never talk about it but there seemed to be something in the way that she watched the world below that gave him some hope.

I’ll find you a healer in this city, a doctor who can help you.” He promised as he kissed the top of her head and left her to sit alone in the little balcony area. As he left no sound left Nadiya’s lips, there was just the glimmer of a tear as it streaked down her cheek and dripped onto the ground below.
