Blink hopped into the Dale, feeling none the worse for wear in spite of the oddness of the day. The little lop blinked her unusually large eyes and scented the air for companions mingling about in the tall grasses. Nothing felt unusual to her, really. There were rabbits out and about, as they usually were in this neck of the Dale, and to be quite honest, she simply hadn't thought to analyze the weird mugginess in the air. It was just another day, in just another life. She made her way down to the river purely by instinct, thinking perhaps the water would cool her down while the sun set. Quite unlike Blink, Paro had noticed something was off the moment she had woken up. There was something uncomfortable and tense in the way the day and trudged on, endless, muggy, without reprieve. Instinct told her to be aware and set all her hairs slightly on end. All day, she had been a little spooky, ready to flee from the slightest hint of danger. So far, nothing concrete had come up, which only made Paro feel worse. As the shadows began to lengthen, she made her way down to the water, seeking some information - anything to set her mind at ease or confirm her suspicions. wc 216

Justice sat still at the slow river, her critical gaze looking over all of the buns that came over towards the pool. She didn't think of anything when she woke up and felt the unease in the air at first. Justice knew that she was a skeptical bun. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't feel some sort of uncomfortable feeling, of eyes either watching her or up to no good. Yet the feeling got more intense, more deep. It made her hair stand on end. But..."What was it?" brown eyes narrowed in gaze. Rather, Who was it? No one was doing anything suspicious. She turned towards the closest bun next to her. "Do you know what's going on here?" Maybe it was best if she got a second opinion...

Bright eyed and bushy tailed; Koi hopped towards the rest of the group in the dales. Usually, he wouldn't be alone. The male was always with someone, yammering their ear off about different subjects like the color of the sky, or his favorite type of rock. Yet...strangely enough, the companion that he was traveling with scurried away this morning. They didn't even utter a goodbye. Which left him....strangely alone.
Koi didn't like alone. In fact, Koi would rather be anything but alone. The world was full of terrors and scary things--but honestly, what truly gnawed at his mind was the complete emptiness he felt when not with anyone. At least the predator could at least be somewhat talked to---even if there was a species barrier where they couldn't understand each other. So he speeded over towards the last running river that he was at. There was bound to be a new friend over here! "Hi!" his tail twitched excitedly, as his eyes flitted from one person to the next. "Great water, right?"

Asher had come down to the river in the heat of the day to try and find some relief there. He'd woken that day with an unsettled feeling in his gut, but couldn't place what it was. The rabbits who lived near him were all safe, though many complained of the way the day felt, so all seemed to be well there... It was a very curious feeling, and left his fur standing on end, one ear perked consistently to listen for any change in the area around him.
Or conversation.
Asher turned his head towards the brown doe at the river, and grimaced a little, foot thumping absently as he thought over her question. "No. He said finally, looking over. "Sorry. Seems strange, though, doesn't it... A strange day." He scanned the area around them, turning as he did, and nodded to one of his companions a distance away. But nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary except how the air felt.

A few yards from Asher, Hoarfrost had begrudgingly followed the younger buck further into the Dales to investigate the group of rabbits lounging there in the heat of the day. He'd kept himself well and truly away from crowd until Asher'd given him a subtle sign that things seemed to be fine, and then opted to join the crowd.
This was a mistake. Chiefly, there was a loud buck there, excited for whatever reason despite the heat and the tension in the air. Hoarfrost snorted under his breath as he settled silently beside Asher, looking into the water with a gruff frown. "Should've sent Stormborn." He groused to Asher, who shook his head at him in kind. Stormborn would've dealt with the group, and would've investigated what was going on.
Hoarfrost didn't care. He'd much rather be home, thank you.

"Something's up..." Paro chimed in, eyeing Asher and Hoarfrost as they joined the water's edge. The two bucks seemed watchful, careful, which seemed to be just the right attitude at the moment. It was times like these that unsettled the doe the most, when there was no good explanation for the instincts that set her nerves on edge. Usually, that was a sign. "Maybe none of us should be out and about today." Blink, meanwhile, had settled herself into the shallows and apparently quite forgotten what else she had meant to do. She was sitting half-submerged in water, staring off into space when more rabbits appeared. Her oversized eyes blinked quite aptly, and she shifted her gaze over to Koi. "Great water," she agreed contentedly, showing no sign that she was thinking of moving. "Cooler than out there." wc 138 total 216+138 = 354
