Gold Star Potion Shop is a magical shop that is run by a witch named Maple Goldstar. Maple wants to use her potions to help people. She moves her shop around according to where it’s needed most or where she will be able to make a decent income. Since the world she lives in is a fantasy medieval setting, it doesn’t have modern science and technology so potions and magic are more relied upon for everyday life. Currently she has set up shop in the village of Shipton, a small fishing village that has been dwindling lately and needs fertility potions. The witches’ potions can do all sorts of things. She has the usual health potions, potions of haste or slowness, mana potions, antidotes, and various common spells.
Other potions range from transformations, to learning a new language instantly, to changing colours of hair, eyes or skin, changing gender or personality, becoming part animal and many more. Maple has to find, buy, trade for or make the ingredients herself, which leads her to travel to different areas of the world so she can ply her trade.
Maple grew up in an orphanage after being abandoned by her unknown parents and doesn’t have a family of her own, though she has made friends wherever she goes. One day, something happens that changes Maple’s life forever. A visitor from another world arrives in her own. In her world there is magic and different animals and plants than modern day Earth but there are no anthro or furry races. The new visitor is definitely not a human, elf, gnome, dwarf, orc or any common race, more like an animal that became humanised. Maple has always wanted a family of her own and maybe her new friend can help her dream come true, while the witch will help her new friend to find his way home and try her best to keep him out of trouble.

((I'm thinking Maple could discover Mazeru in the forest while foraging for potion ingredients)) Maple Goldstar was a witch. She owned a small house and potion shop that she'd cast a spell upon to be able to transport around with her. The ground floor was the shop itself, filled with many different kinds of potions and a counter with a register. The upper floor was her small living quarters; a simple bedroom that bore a double bed and a dresser, a tiny kitchen and living room and a small bathroom. Maple cast a shrinking spell on her house and placed it in her tiny travel bag that was tied to the end of her broomstick, and when she arrived at a new location, she'd use a growing spell and size the shop back up again.
For now, she'd settled in the village of Shipton, a place with a lovely beach and plenty of sea air. The villagers there were having trouble increasing their population, so her fertility potions were selling very well. Alas, she'd sold so many that stocks were running low, so she headed off into the nearest patch of forest in the wilderness area behind the town where rural farmers mostly lived.
Maple had brought a basket with her and was walking around picking herbs, flowers, berries, leaves, insects, fungi and more, collecting them to make into more potions. She had the scroll with the fertility potion she'd designed written down on it and she kept referring back to it as she wandered, her basket on her arm. "Hmm, we need more pink frezia flowers. They grow under squithfruit bushes" she muttered to herself, picking her way down a forest trail. "Let's try searching in this direction"
Maple had the habit of talking to herself softly. She was used to spending time alone and it helped her feel less alone.
The usual sounds of forest animals, birds and insects filled the air of the forest. Suddenly Maple startled as she heard something loud nearby crash through the trees "What was that?!" Maple flinched, her hand crushing the scroll she held and her basket jiggling, letting some items fall to the ground "Ah!"

“Of such great powers or beings there may be conceivably a survival . . . a survival of a hugely remote period when . . . consciousness was manifested, perhaps, in shapes and forms long since withdrawn before the tide of advancing humanity . . . forms of which poetry and legend alone have caught a flying memory and called them gods, monsters, mythical beings of all sorts and kinds. . . .”That was what the moon priest had once said to Mazeru, such a quote still remaining strong within the chimera's memory. He had encountered the priest and his cult when he had come across the courtyard that led to their large mansion, the likes of which the cultists resided in and worshiped that which they called a god. Though Mazeru hardly knew of the full story, from what the moon priest had informed him, it seemed that they were worshiping some sort of monster, the likes of which Mazeru had never seen before. The monster in question was some kind of draconic alien, a strange creature that seemed out of this world. Just why would such a cult treat this animal as their god? Mazeru resolved to investigate this strange phenomenon to learn why, deciding to sneak into the mansion one evening. Slipping into the building without anyone noticing, the chimera crept his way throughout the great halls of the mansion, the walls looking to have been crafted some ancient blue stone, seemingly dripping with a blue ooze and radiating with a strange presence that slightly unnerved Mazeru. Soon, the chimera came across a room full of bookshelves, these in turn being stuffed to the brim with books of all kinds. There was also a white altar placed within the center of the room, stacked with the skulls of small theropods and lizards alongside strange glowing blue leaves. Unfortunately for Mazeru, his curiosity got the best of him as he stepped up to the altar. For as he made contact with the strange looking altar, a wormhole suddenly appeared above the chimera as the altar began glowing blue, drawing in the air surrounding him. Caught completely off-guard by this sudden anomaly, Mazeru tried to run away, but he just couldn't make it before he was sucked up into the wormhole. And so that was the reason why the chimera found himself crash landing into this strange new forest. Crashing through several trees and landing down hard on his back, Mazeru rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself back to his feet. The minor injuries he had sustained from the landing already healing up, the chimera took in his newfound surroundings, letting the gravity of the situation settle in. Where was he? For that matter, when was he? Was he even in his own dimension anymore?

Maple had heard something crash through the trees and hit the forest floor, branches breaking and a heavy thud disturbing the peaceful surroundings. The witch hurriedly scooped up and stuffed her items back in her basket. She crept towards the location of the noise, curious to see what made it, though she stayed hidden behind trees and bushes, just in case it was something dangerous. Maple peeked out from between some low hanging, leafy branches and drew in a silent gasp, gripping onto the tree for support. She couldn't stop staring at the huge creature that was in the forest. She watched him roll over and rise to his feet, revealing his full height to be around 9 feet tall. Maple shivered, staying quiet and hidden. She was afraid. She'd never seen a creature like him before, never heard of any. What was he and where did he come from?
Her eyes roamed over his body, taking in his large bat-like wings of a startling blue and the mismatched parts of the rest of him. He was colourful and strange and he looked dangerous, with sharp teeth and claws and a fair amount of solid muscle. He was grey and orange and green with blue wings and she noticed that where he sustained scratches, the blood was blue, but they healed over almost instantly. Her mind flew back to the fishing village. Was he a danger to Shipton? Maybe she should run back and warn them about the monster.
Then again, something made her hesitate. What if he wasn't dangerous? Was he intelligent, or a mindless beast? She had to find out before taking any action against him.She wouldn't want to harm an innocent person. Maple reached into her dress pocket and withdrew a small potion bottle, uncapping it and swallowing the contents. She closed her eyes and concentrated and a transparent image of herself stepped out of her body. She sent it out into the clearing, stepping silently as though it had no weight. She looked through its eyes, her own eyes closed. The illusion of her stepped forwards, moving in front of the creature. "Hello" it spoke in Maple's voice. "Who are you? Can you talk?"
Using an illusion to approach the entity seemed far safer than going out there herself. Her human body remained quiet and well hidden.

Mazeru had only a moment more to examine his surroundings when his ears twitched at the sound of someone or something moving nearby. Was there someone else here? Were they a threat? Could they help him? The chimera was proceeding to look around for whoever was nearby, when Maple's illusion made its presence known to him, making him jump slightly as it appeared. Although taken aback by the illusion's appearance, Mazeru was at least glad to meet someone who might help. "Where am I?" The chimera replied with his own question. "What is this place?"

She watched him, seeing his pointed ears move. That was almost...cute. Not that the rest of his body wasn't something that commanded awe and respect. The eyes focused on her and she felt her heart race with an electric current of fear and excitement. This was it! She was talking to him and he...jumped at her presence. Interesting. She certainly hadn't expected that from such a mighty being. Maple offered up a warm smile, hoping to make a friend. "So, you can talk. That's good" she said with a friendly tone, her illusion floating a few inches into the air. "You're on Marzipan. That's the name of this world" she informed him helpfully. "And it's the year seven thousand and three, in Aprill, the next month being Marze" Maple looked around their immediate surroundings and decided to fill him in on that too "This is the Wendwood forest, behind the fishing town of Shipton. I was here collecting ingredients for my tinctures" she said. "And you're definitely not from this world!...which begs the question; where are you from?" she asked with great curiosity. "I'd heard there are other worlds but no one's ever found a way to travel to them. At least, not in these modern times"

Mazeru was silent as he listened to Maple's illusion explain where he was. Well, he was at least glad he was still in the same time period, but the news of where he was certainly worried him. "I come from Urth," The chimera answered. "I'm not quite sure what happened to bring me here, but I don't think I belong here."

"Oh" Maple replied, "Urth" She tried the new name on her tongue. She looked a little sympathetic when he mentioned not belonging. "Well, you seem nice enough from first impressions. Maybe there's some way I could help you find a way to get back home. I mean, you got here from somewhere else, so there must be a way to go back" she reasoned, trying to cheer him up a bit. "I'm a witch, in case you couldn't tell. I make magical potions that help people in a variety of ways. I have access to magic libraries in the academy I studied at, and I've met all sorts of people from travelling around plying my trade. Somebody might know of something that could help you...but you're right, you definitely don't fit in here. I've never seen anyone like you" She hesitated. "Actually...I'm...speaking to you through an illusion right now" she admitted a little sheepishly. "I don't know you well enough to trust you, and I'm not sure about bringing you back into town with me. People might think you're some kind of monster or deity and attack. Maybe you'd be all right staying here in the forest while I bring you food and water and visit you here each day until we can work something out"

"I hope so," Mazeru concurred, though he was unsure if such a thing could be possible. Still, this world's rules may very well not be the same as his, so anything could be possible. "A witch, huh? I've met a few witches in my world, though I doubt any of them could have the power to bring others to different worlds." "A fair point. Might as well get used to where I am now before anything else."

"I'm sure there must be. We just don't know what it is" she said to encourage him about there being a way back, "If we can find that out, we can get you home" She paused in thought for a moment, eyes going distant while tapping her bottom lip with a finger.
"After all, I very vaaaaguely remember other world travel being mentioned in some of the ancient tomes and scrolls I had access to during my potion studies. It would have been many thousands of years ago though, if it ever did happen. Most people think it's just myth or legends but they could be wrong" she said, not too sure about the last part. "But like I said, I know a lot of people from all over the place, one of them might know something that could help"
She nodded as he responded to her reveal of being a witch "Yes! Oh, you have witches in your world, too! I wonder if they're different from Marzipan witches" she said with a smile. "Sounds like there are some similarities between our two worlds"
She was relieved that he didn't mind her using an illusion, or that he'd have to stay hidden in a forest for now. "Thank you for understanding. Oh, and I never told you my name: I'm Maple Goldstar" she said.
The projection of the girl floated a little closer to Mazeru, curious at getting a closer look at him. Her patchwork dress fluttered softly with her forward movement. She began to float around inspecting his wings, body and overall appearance. "What's your name? And what kind of food do you eat?" she said, "Wowww, you're so big".

Mazeru had his doubts upon hearing Maple admit to only vaguely recalling otherwordly travel in this world. Clearly it wouldn't be of any help for him in this situation. "Yes," The chimera responded to Maple's wondering about witches. "If witches in this world are shapeshifters that use primal magic." "My name's Mazeru," He answered the witch, watching as her illusion approached him. "I pretty much can only eat meat."

It may not have been much but it was a thread to follow and unravel, which might lead to a way to get Mazeru back home. Just because nobody in modern days remembered it, didn't mean it wasn't still recorded, tucked away in some ancient tome deep in a wizard's tower somewhere or in a tomb with whoever possessed it last. It was a lead, no matter how faint.
Maple looked surprised when he revealed what witches from his world were like. "Uh, no. No, witches here are a bit different than that" she admitted, somewhat intimidated by his description. "I myself, am a potion maker. I can't shapeshift or use primal magic. But my potions are magical and they can do all sorts of things. I was out here collecting ingredients for them actually. And then you showed up" "Mazeru, I like it" she said, trying his name out slowly. She looked at his crocodile maw, it was a little scary. "I see, well, that would make sense" she said. "I suppose it's not a matter of me being able to get you food, so much as you being able to catch your own food" she realised with a nervous chuckle. "I doubt anyone would notice if deer or boar go missing" she considered the fish that the town caught, "I could bring you fish for a change of taste too. They sell them for a good price since this is a fishing town"
She also pondered...she used a spell to shrink her home and transport it magically, then to enlarge it. She could always make it large enough for Mazeru to fit in. But then she'd be so small in her own home and the shop down on the first floor. Or she could temporarily shrink Mazeru. She'd have to see if he could gain her trust. She didn't know if he was someone trustworthy or whether he was dangerous. "I doubt you'll be able to hide here indefinitely" She told him "Woodcutters, hunters, teen explorers and other townsfolk come into these woods. And if you eat them then there's definitely going to be trouble" she laughed a little. She hadn't finished collecting all her potion ingredients so she couldn't really leave. And she didn't feel right about leaving the newcomer alone in the forest. "Hey, maybe I should stick around instead of heading back into the town. Someone has to keep an eye on you" she said
"And I still need potion ingredients. Oh, here, please take this. Consider it a token of friendship" she said, and her illusion raised its hands placing them either side of an invisible space as though holding a box. She leveled a concentrated stare at the empty space and a potion bottle poofed into existence with an audible juicy pop and some smoke and sparkles. "Here...an invisibility potion. It should last a good 20 minutes. In case you need to hide"

"Hmm," Mazeru replied, his suspicions confirmed by Maple's answer. "So this world really is different from my own. Potion makers from my world typically aren't witches, and they're otherwise not so skilled in magic." The chimera shifted into a more comfortable position, laying upon his chest as he faced Maple's illusion. "Depending on what lives in this world, hunting should be no problem for me. Fish is acceptable." Mazeru listened on to the warning Maple provided him, the chimera wondering if such types of folk would be any different to what he was used to facing in his own world. A simple woodcutter or explorer was cannon fodder for him where he came from, but could he really say the same thing for here? "I'll try to see if I can just avoid potential conflict as much as possible." Blinking in surprise as the potion bottle materialized before him, Mazeru cautiously took the item. It was meant as a helpful tool, of course, but would it prove beneficial to him? Would it really do as what she claimed, or perhaps due to him being an outsider to this world, would it have some strange unforseen effect on his biology? "...Thanks," The chimera responded, being quite careful with the potion bottle as he handled it.
