Entry Rules ⋆ There are 5 different contests. Each user may submit 1 entry into each contest. You're allowed to enter all the contests, just one contest, any number of contests you'd like, or none. But you may only provide one entry for each contest you enter.
⋆ The deadline for all entries is Wednesday, October 3rd. Please have all entries submitted by 11:59pm PDT that day.
⋆Post your entry in this thread by filling out an entry form. You can find the entry form right under the description for each contest. Copy/paste the form into your post.
⋆Human and Paw avatars are welcome. All entries will be judged as one group.
⋆There are no price or item restrictions.
⋆You may use your own items, the Dress Up search (all Gaia) or Avatar Builder. Fun extra: If you use the "all Gaia" search in Dress Up, click this link to see a regular-sized image of your creation. Click save on that image to upload. This is not required.
⋆Please save your own entries and include the link/image in the form. If you need help saving an avatar image, please let me know and we can figure it out.

The Points and Prizes ⋆ Entrants will receive 2 points for each contest entry. Therefore, Gaians may receive up to 10 points if they submit entries into all 5 contests.
⋆ Entries will be judged for both overall style and how well they fit the contest theme. Hint: Make your entries look good. c;
⋆Winners earn points and prizes as listed in the Winner's Post #10.
⋆Victories are capped. Entrants may only win up to 2 times. Entrants may win first place only once. For example, it's not possible to win 1st in one contest and 1st in another. It is possible to win 1st and 2nd, 2nd and 2nd, or 2nd and 3rd, etc. It's never possible to 1st place in one contest, 2nd in another and 3rd in another... because a user may only place in two contests.
⋆ Entrants are not guaranteed a win. Teams are not guaranteed a win. Enter as many contests as possible to help increase your (and your team's) odds!~
⋆ I will have another user, not in NSTG, make the judgement calls. No usernames will be provided, only images. I will only ask the judge for a redo if someone happens to get multiple first place wins or more than 2 wins overall. (The user is very familiar with Gaia and with creating/rating avatars.)
The Fine Details This is stuff you don't need to know. I haven't gotten any questions about any of this, but I figure I'll keep everything as transparent as possible.
⋆ Scores are reported when users hit 10 points (all 5 contests entered). This way, the clan captains don't get smothered in my reports of 2 pts here and 2 pts there. At the end of the event, I will report the points for those who didn't enter all 5 contests. So keep the points in your own mental notes, but your captains won't know about 'em... yet.
⋆ I add entries to the respective posts in random order. There's no rhyme or reason. No secret code. I don't know... it just feels right. If all the entries were in order of submission, you could easily ID which entries belong to the same user. That really shouldn't affect any bit of the judging, but *shrugs* might as well play it safe.
⋆ All avatars link to the contest entry. Click the avatar to see who submitted it. This is how I'll easily find the names of the winners once the judge makes their decisions. But, again, I'm trying it keep it all kinda anonymous. I know, I know XD; it's often easy to tell someone's style and guess all of their entries. Shhh.
⋆ You might notice that some stories have "--" in place of some words, namely, proper nouns. Anything that looks too close to a username gets censored. Sorry, I know this messes with y'alls' stories. Buuut they're still good. O:

I wanted to be a sassy merman with an army of jellyfish sorrounding me. *Winks & Blushes* Heeeyyy.
My merperson enjoys swimming close to the surface because they don't tell you THE DEPTHS OF THE OCEAN ARE COLD. WRINKLY FINGERS? WHO CARES, I HAVE FROSTBITE. But she also like flowers and pretty things, and to get those, being a sea merperson, she has to trade with two-legs. She notices that if she offers a two-legs some grubby coins she finds from time to time, they get very excited and will give her many flowers and even some nice not-skin to wear. Not all the things she finds are grubby coins, though, and she rather does enjoy bright stones and jewellery, so she tends to wear whatever she fancies and trades what she doesn't.

-- enjoys shiny and pretty things and often comes across them (well, she actively looks for them. Especially near two-legs' and around sunken ships). UNFORTUNATELY today she tried on a very pretty headband- AND IMMEDIATELY HER LOVELY LONG TAIL CHANGED INTO A SEAHORSE TAIL. Nothing against seahorses, they are lovely, but seahorse tails are prehensile for grasping and cannot propel anything under the water anything further than 2.5 cm. Needless to say, -- traded that headband.

Pirate Caesar Raiding sunken ships and occasionally ships that are still floating too. When the crew are asleep and the ships are anchored in the middle of nowhere at sea. They think they're safe but they're not. I learned the firebreathing skill from a circus performer who owed me a debt. I used firebreathing to set those ships on fire. When the ships sank I raided them. pirate

Scavenger, explorer, and trader -- is quite good at looking through likely spots and finding treasure, such as ships, and near touristy places where careless people tend to drop shiny things and found that, despite it doing well for her before, she could no longer actually wear all of her finds. So she adopted a big cave. It's full of crystal rather than ice (because she does NOT do well with cold). When she wants company or new flowers she will pack a bag full of whatever she feels like and take it up to the surface.

Occasionally, -- will find magical things. One of those things was a necklace with a wish in it. She was saving it for something she really wanted, but she basically had everything she wanted. Sea friends, enough wealth to keep her in flowers, and also a stimulating career. She was searching her favourite ruins for fun and treasure when she felt some vibrations in the water. -- heard the splash rather than saw it and vacated the ruins in case yet more of them were falling into the water, as happened. When it turned out to be a two-legs, she grabbed them, carried them into a sheltered lagoon and dragged them to the rocks. They were too weak - evidently, they had not fallen into the open sea nearby, but had swum to try and find some way onto land, but all around the sea rocks were too high to crawl out of the water (which is why it was such a treasure trove- no two-legs could go in to salvage anything).
-- used her wish to have legs so she could carry the drowned two-legs to safety. She didn't really want a racing conch anyway.
Just because this Aquarian sea witch has feet now, doesn't mean he has to stop demonstrating his magic. By the way, the cost for attending this show is high. Very high.
Dr. -- is an eccentric scientist working in a research facility on board a ship.
Show me an underwater/ocean/lake/river/pond scene... avatar not included. Scenic avatars show... scenes. I want to see a landseascape. Hide your avatar. This can be done by finding a small "i am" pose to try to hide within the scene... or by trying to make your avatar disappear. Please see the two guides in the next post for ways to hide your avatar. This does require use of a background (likely, multiple backgrounds). If your background doesn't equip with one method (and you really want to use it), try another method. You may add other objects and/or sea creatures into the scene. In fact, I encourage it. This'll be a lot of trial and error until you layer up stuff that you like.

This is a very beautiful lake. Here are some Gaia threads that you might find helpful for creating avatars for these contests.
⋆Scenic Avatars and Various Mermaid Items If you have no idea where to start, check this thread out. I've linked to some guides for creating scenic avatars. I've also included links to some tails, backgrounds, accessories, etc that would go well with the mermaid theme. It's not a complete list, but it's a good start.
⋆How to Save Your Avatar Here's a step-by-step guide for saving your avatar to an image hosting site. Imgur.com is used as the example. You don't need to make an account with imgur in order to host an image.
