The day started like any other day with Queen Vanora yelling at her maid because the poor girl wasn't moving fast enough to get the Queen her breakfast. "Hurry up already you little peasant. You know how I don't like to be kept waiting!" She growled out as she reached over to her side table, picked up a small trinket and through it at her maid to make her go faster. The young maid move just in time before she got hit and curtsied, shaking a fear. "I... I'm sorry your Highness. I will get your breakfast right away." She said and quickly left the Queens bedroom and headed for the castle kitchens. Vanora stretched her body to get all of the kinks out and got out of bed. While the young maid when to get her breakfast, another older looking maid came into the room and helped Vanora get dressed for the day.
After Vanora was dressed, she sat at her desk and did some paper work. Being Queen was great when you didn't have to paper work but other than that she loved the royal life. After awhile, the young maid finally came back the breakfast and Vanora just glared at the girl. "Never mind... I'm not hungry anymore." She took the food and just knocked it onto the floor. "Clean that mess up!" Vanora laughed as she stood from her desk and walked out of her bedroom.

Kal's morning always started at the crack of dawn he was in the training yard with a group of young squires along with two or three other knights and Kal didn't pull any punches these boy's where using real blades and real tactics." Boy if you don't keep your shield up you are going to lose your head!!"He yells as the young man blocked a high cross cut form one of the knights but falls on his a**." Damn it boy get back up use your rear leg to push back against the attack and keep your self up right,you keep this up and I'll send your back to your father with one less arm you hear me."He says as he moves to the next pair that was training before a young maid runs up to him." Sir Kal our lady is awake."She says and he nods to her." Ok you lot get washed up and get to your posts."He says as the others got there belongs and went off,Kal then headed towards the queen's chambers meeting her just outside her door." Morning my lady."He says with a bow,his sword on his hip and his helm under his arm.

When Vanora ran into Sir Kal, Vanora smiled up at him. To her, he was still the handsome boy that she met when she was she 9 years old. "Well hello to you too." She said with a smile. "And you know that you don't have to be all formal around me Kal." Vanora told him. The young maid that was in her room emerged with the wasted food. Her face was red and puffy like she had been crying. "I-I finished c-cleaning my lady." Vanora didn't even notice or listen to her and just waved her off like she was an annoying fly. "So Kal, you have breakfast yet? If not maybe you should join me." She said and started to make her way into the dining hall.

Kal smiles when she spoke." Sorry my lady but old habits die hard,I'll work on it."He says he then seen the maid come form in the room and then watched her leave with food." Was the food not to your liking this morning?"He asks as he starts walking and he follows behind her,she may be the queen but he couldn't help but look at her,something in her eyes that kept drawing him in." No my lady I have not eaten as of yet,I was in the yard training some new nobles son's as they have finely come of age,however in all honesty I don't see them becoming members of my knights maybe town guard or pack mules even."He says as knights and servants alike bowed to them as they walked the halls.

"No the food looked good, but you know me. I just like seeing the maids cry." Vanora said. "Does that make me a mean Queen." She asked with a laugh, glancing over Kal. Even though she noticed the servants and knights bowing, she just didn't care to notice them. As Queen she did right by her people, but tormenting them was fun too. So she had a love/hate thing going on you could say. When he talked about training the new squires, she felt sadden that she missed it. She just wanted to look at him train. "New guards you say... Well if they can't handle your training then they might as well just become pack mules. We could always use more of those." She said jokingly.
Once inside the dining hall, Vanora sat down at the head of the table and motioned Kal to sit at her right. When he was seat, she ran a little gold bell and the maids who worked in the kitchen came out with food. "So Kal, what are your plans for the rest of the day?" She asked him while she started to eat her food.

Kal nods as she spoke." As a queen you have to be hard on others to build a stronger kingdom."He says and he laughed when she said we could use more pack mules." I couldn't agree more my lady but sadly we need more guards as well."He says as he sits down and lays his helm on the table and looked over at her with a smile." I am free for the most part of the day but later in the evening I have to send some men to the east tower it seems the guards are having some trouble so I am sending some knights to handle it and if they can't I will go my self."He says as the maids come out with food and when one lays food before him he nods to her,it was the same one who came and informed him the lady was awake,he then looked at Vanora and smiles." What about you my lady do you have any meetings or visits to do today or are you free as well?"He asks with a smile.

Once Vanora heard the word trouble, she started to get small flashbacks of when her parents were dead. Her eyes started to get wet but she wiped them away with her napkin. She gave a cough then looked over at Kal. "Well if we need more knights then I might as well send out letters to the surrounding kingdoms. See if they have any extra guys that they don't need." She told them and continued to eat her breakfast. When he asked her if she was busy or free,she answered. "Well.. today is one of those days where I have to see some off village people and see what their problems are." She gave a sigh. "And I really don't want to do it. But I guess that's the price of being Queen."

Kal seen her tear up when he brought up the trouble and he reaches over and puts a hand on her shoulder and gives her a smile."Don't worry about them I am your knight your right hand,your sword and your shield I will take care of this."He says,he then let go of her and started to eat and he listened do her and smiles."Do you want me to accompany you on your visit."He asks when a knight comes up to him."Sir Kal there is a problem in the training yard we caught a thief."He says and Kal lets out a sigh and stood up."I am sorry my lady but duty calls."He says as he puts his helm on and the two men bow to her and the knight and Kal soon got to the training yard where they where holding a young woman at sword point and the woman was holding food."Sir Kal we just coughs this woman stealing form the kitchen what should we do."One of the other knights asks,Kal looked at them then the girl and grips the hilt of his sword before pulling it form its sheath."Do you even need to ask she has stolen and you all know the pantalty for a thief bring to to the block and stick out her arm."He orders and two knights pull her towards the block and one holds her down and the other pulls out her arm and Kal brings his blade up into the air."I sir Kal head knight of our ladies royal knights find you guilty of thieving."He says.

xxx Vanora was having a good time having breakfast with Kal and was always smiling at hims. He was the only one who could put a smile on her face. When she was about to see if he would accompany her to talk to her people, Vanora got really upset when another knight came in and told Kal that he was needed to handle a theft problem. It was so unfair she thought and it totally sucked. She gave a sighed and watching him leave the dining hall. Vanora fished what was lest of her food then got up. She let the maids clean up and when back into her bedroom to freshen up.
After she got freshened up, Vanora walked down the castle hallway and into in the throne room. Giving a long sigh, she sat down on her throne and looked out to the few knights that she was looked at that was making sure that she was safe. 'Lets get show on the rode.' She thought to herself and stopped looking bored to be more elegant and poised. Vanora looked over at the knight to her left and nodded her head for him to call the people in.
"Bring forth the two people who has asked to have an audience with their Queen." The knight said. When he was done, two other knights walked over and opened the giant double doors. 'Really? Only two people? What a complete waist of my time.' She thought. The two people, a man and a woman, came forth and bowed to their Queen. "State your names for Queen Vanora and your problem." The knight said and nodded at Vanora.
The male stepped forward and bowed. "My name is Samuel and this is my sister Kisara. We've come here to ask if you could please send some nights over to our village. These bandits are attacking us and taking our food. We're almost out of rations and the children are starving." He told Vanora. She actually felt a little sorry for them. But this village was right on the border between Noarin and a neighboring kingdom.
The Queen looked at them and could tell that the sister was just looked skin and bones but really there was nothing that she could do about sending more knights since Noarin barely had some there own. More than half of the knights from her father's army was dead and their family didn't want to send there sons to become now, so knight shortage was really high. "Did you go to the neighboring kingdom to ask for help?" Vanora asked them. Samuel nodded. "Yes we did, but he would not even listen to us. Saying that he didn't care what happened to my little village. We had no choice but to come here." Vanora took a while to think about what to say next but knew that she had to say it. "I am sorry for you and the people of you village, but I must say that I cannot send knights down to help you." She watched as the sister actually broke down crying. "Knights, make sure that you see them out of the castle and Noarin village."
Once the brother and sister left, she relaxed in her throne and practically slumping down into her. 'I never want to do that again and acting nice. It was such a pain to act nice to people that didn't know who she really was that didn't live in the Noarin Kingdom.' She gave a sighed and just sat there. She really hoped that Kal would come back soon.

Kel brought his blade down and sense the sword was so well kept it cut though the woman's wrist with out any trouble the woman didn't even know her hand was gone till she looked over at the stump she had and she screamed out as the other knights covered the wound and pulled her out of the yard,Kal looked at the knights how stayed."Clean this up and then return to your patrols."He says as he cleans the blood of his sword with a cloth before sheathing it he then turns and walks towards the throne room where he figured the queen would be waiting,on his way he passed a young man and woman who looked like they where nothing but bones and skin."What happened to you two?"He asks and the told him about the attacks and he nods."Don't lose hope I will see if we can send some aid your way.Once you take them back home do a little looking around then report to me."He told the knights before entering the throne room and he seen Vanora just sitting slumped in her throne and he laughed a little."My lady that is no way for a queen to be sitting."He says as he takes his helm off and gives her a smile.

xxx Vanora quickly sat up straight and smiled at Kal when he finally came back from his knightly duties. She have a little laugh. "I know slumping is not very lady like, but if you just had a meeting like I just did then you would be doing the same thing. Acting nice is not something that I like to do and really never what to do again, but it can't be helped really." She said and stood up from her throne then walked over to Kal. "If you weer on your way back then you saw those two people leave the throne room. Well they wanted my help with some bandits and wanted knights to help out, but we don't have all that many ourselves so I couldn't sent any. But even if we did have an army of knights, I still wouldn't send then any help." Vanora gave a loud laugh and started to walk out of the room. "I'm on my way to my room to do some paper work. You can join me if you want to Kal and keep me some company." She gave him a sweet smile and walked out.
While walking she knew that he would follow her... He always did. Once to her room, Vanora sat down at her desk and looked at the new stack of paper she needed to look over an sign. She reached for a gold bell and rang it, waiting for a maid to come to her. A different maid from that morning came in and bowed. "What can I get for you my Queen?" The maid asked. Vanora looked at the girl and said. "You can get Sir Kal and I something to drink. And please be quick about it... Unless you want to be be the next girl that I make cry." The maid quickly shook her head. "No my lady." With that, the girl quickly left and towards the kitchens.

Kal laughs when she spoke about slumping and about playing nice he shakes his head,she was only ever truly nice to him,and that had rumors flying all around the kingdom about the two of them a rumor he had his knights stomp out with punishment of death. However Kal did have feelings for the queen but he was just a knight and he wasn't even noble to start with but her father seen him in a fight and then a week later her father trained him as a knight against everyones wishes and now he is the head knight of every order in the kingdom,once in the room he sits his helm down on a little side table and stands behind Vanora when the maid comes back with the drinks shortly after being ordered to get them."You made good time."He says and she bows to them both before leaving closing the door behind her."So my queen what kind of paper work is it this time?"He asks looking over her shoulder to see the papers.

Kel listens to Vanora before taking a sip of his own drink."Why don't you get an adviser then my lady,that way you can ease some of the stress off your body its not good for your heath."He says sitting the glass on a table before he walks up behind her and looks over her shoulder to read some of the papers as well maybe he could give her some input after all she often asked what he thought about things around the kingdom.
