I was thinking, since we have some movies noted here that are making us cry for the future of humanity, what movies would we actually *like* to see?
This has been a barren 3 months for me; the only stuff I'm looking forward to is Ice Age 2, X-Men III and Pirates of the Caribbean 2.
I'm told, however, that V for Vendetta is very good, if violent. I might be tempted to go see that over my week-long holiday.
Anyone else got any films they're desperate to see?

Pirates of the Carabian 2 is something I must see! pirate
Theres other movies I think "Oh, I should see that" but then forget about, and right now, I can't even think of them. =S
X Men 3 is something I have to see, but am really dreading, after the last too just felt so..."meh" ish while watching.
I don't tend to watch a lot of movies these days, which is a shame, I should rectify that...

V for Vendetta is worth a look, yes. Personally, still need to see Mirrormask. Films I'm most looking forward to, however, are: Silent Hill, Southland Tales, Pan's Labyrinth, Stardust, Beowulf, Coraline, The Wee Free Men (just annnounced, and I think it's being done by Sam Raimi unless my memory's completely died).... Oh, and X-Men 3 is of vague interest. But not as much as that lot, really.
Y'see, this should be a great year for film, provided you don't focus on the mainstream Hollywood stuff too much.
Oh, and I nearly forgot Black Sheep. And Slither.

How could I have forgotten Silent Hill? Yeah, I'd like to see that too smile
I guess since Lord of the Rings and Star Wars came to an end, I haven't had any epics to be looking forward to. Goodness only knows when Warners will get Order of the Phoenix made.

Beowulf is an epic you should be looking forward to, since Neil Gaiman wrote the screenplay...

Out of the current crop of releases - although V for Vendetta has me curious - I'm intrigued by Romance and Cigarettes: James Gandolfini, Christopher Walken, Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet, Steve Buscemi and Eddie Izzard in a musical (with some lip-synching, of course).
But the odds of finding anywhere showing it around here're vanishingly slim.

I still need to get around to seeing V for Vendetta (assuming it's still in theatres...bad enough I missed Ultraviolet). And maybe Ice Age 2...the trailers show promise, and it does look like it'll be better than the original, which for some reason didn't appeal to me much.
Summer's not looking too exciting, though. Coming to mind, X-Men: The Last Stand and the new Pirates of the Carribean are the only two movies that are beckoning me.
And then there's FF VII: Advent Children, if you count that smile

I already have a copy of Advent Children. The visuals're jaw-dropping, but I've never played a FF game in my life, so I'm not really able to coment on the plot other than what other people frantically filled me in on after giving me the disc.

I am DYING to see Ice Age 2. Hopefully it will still be running when I go back home to Guam for vacation. I also do want to see V for Vendetta.
((Going home for vacation...man, that sounds like an oxymoron. xp ))

That's another one I'm curious about - but since I live 45 minutes' drive from the local cinema and can't drive, so the odds of seeing anything're fairly slim.

The plot is, as far as i could tell, little more than an excuse for fanservice. Yeah, the visuals were pretty... but so were those in Ghost in the Shell 2, which struck me as a film with rather more depth to it.

There's a thread - or at least a post - around here somewhere on the subject. I know that I mentioned it in my LJ at the time.
Although I want to see this live action version of Hogfather that's being produced for Sky, starring David Jason - nobody's ever made a live action Discworld adaptation before.
