What is an infantryman?
"Infantry is the branch of an army that engages in military combat on foot, distinguished from cavalry, artillery, and tank forces. Also known as foot soldiers, infantry traditionally relies on moving by foot between combats as well, but may also use mounts, military vehicles, or other transport. Infantry make up a large portion of all armed forces in most nations, and typically bear the largest brunt in warfare, as measured by casualties, deprivation, or physical and psychological stress.
The first military forces in history were infantry. In antiquity, infantry were armed with an early melee weapon such as a spear, axe or sword, or an early ranged weapon like a javelin, sling, or bow, with a few infantrymen having both a melee and a ranged weapon."

DCCI Headquarters is located in an old warehouse not far from where Ophelia found you. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and in a panic, worried for both your life and your sanity, you try a phone call to your closest relative - but the line falls dead. There’s no signal.
“You won’t be able to use that here until I reprogram it for you,” the cat says.
You can’t tell if she’s scolding you or not.
She takes you inside the warehouse, and then up a flight of iron stairs where there is an iron door.
“Wait here,” the cat says, slipping through a cat flap that looks like it might have been installed just for her.
A moment later the iron door swings open on freshly oiled hinges. Standing on the other side is a woman in a long red skirt, with hair the colour of dark fire. She beams at you, gestures for you to step inside.
“It’s nice to meet you,” she says, “I’m Sailor Vulcan.”

As far as gyms go it isn’t the most amazing set-up you’ve ever seen. Everything from the treadmill to the boxing ring is obviously second-hand, and the training mats look worn out, but there’s a complete set of weights in one corner and what looks like a brand new door labelled “shower” so you know you won’t have to go home a sweaty mess.
An assortment of what appear to be everyday household items hang from hooks on the far wall.
“Sometimes when we fight, we have to fight with the most accessible thing,” Vulcan explains, crossing the room to take a golf club off the wall. She swings it so hard through the air that it zings. “Destiny City Infantrymen train with items like these so they’ll be ready for anything on the battlefield.”
Vulcan returns the golf club to the wall, puts her hand on an old battered-looking crowbar.
“I used to protect myself with this,” she says, “My dad patrols with a baseball bat. His code name is Big John.”
And then she smiles.
“Would you like to choose your weapon, soldier?”

".........................................................."
Vulcan stared in the wake of Nadia's question, expression blank, but with a flush creeping into her cheeks. She smiled at Nadia, then searched the faces of her other students.
"A youma is a creature of darkness."
She cleared her throat.
"They are negaverse minions who will try to take your energy, and the energy of other people who do not know how to defend themselves."
Underneath the tarp something made a hissing sound. Standing beside Nadia, Big John's fingers flexed around the wood of his baseball bat.
"As infantrymen you will learn how to recognize a youma, how to protect yourselves from them, and how to turn them into dust."
Vulcan signalled to John Jr, who pulled back the tarp to reveal a metal cage large enough to hold a St. Bernard. Inside there crouched a youma that looked a little bit like a badger - with a bright blue stripe down its back and four tusks the colour of old parchment paper. It hissed again at being uncovered, long claws scratching at the bottom of the metal cage.
"Some youma come in more familiar animal shapes, like this one. Others look like monsters out of mythology, and some look almost like regular people."

Being a senshi, and knowing how people thought of them, Kiuchi had kept to the shadows as much as he could. It wasn't just for that reason but also because he could sense the youma in the room, and figured where it was, he trusted the eternal to keep it from getting lose and hurting anyone in the room. The room was, after all, full of civilians and he doubted the white moon senshi would want to see any one of them hurt. It wasn't until the girl, he didn't know her name, appeared clueless, that he stepped out of the shadows on slippered feet.
Speaking up, only once Vulcan was done, he added to what she'd said. "Some can be massive...those would be impossible for you to handle. They take team work." Team work among those who were powered and had magic at their disposal. Those youma wouldn't go down easily to simple objects striking them, if only it was that simple.
Tugging at one of his sleeves the dark mirror senshi of gorgon's drew closer, towards Vulcan herself, and eyed the caged youma. He'd let Vulcan continue talking though, this was her lesson and her group. He would keep close though, just incase, he didn't like youma - they felt wrong. They weren't wraiths, and he did wonder if she'd bring them up, youma were something else...something more dangerous in his opinion.

Zachary stood towards the back of the assembled crowd, arms crossed over his chest. This was in part because he was one of the taller students in attendance, and he made for a poor window when people were trying to see a 'creature of darkness' for the first time. He also thought this whole display was a terrible ******** idea, and it was easy to see in the frown lines on his face. He didn't trust the badger thing, or the senshi that was...different, however many times it had been explained to him. Mirror senshi? Like the mirror that trapped them all? It was suspect.
He trusted Vulcan, of course, which meant he had to trust Syrtis by extension, but he didn't have to like the fact that they were exposing these fresh faces to a full-on youma right out the gate. In fact, he wasn't going to like it. He one hundred percent disliked it, especially when he considered the girl towards the front asking questions. She didn't need to be out fighting monsters--she needed to go home and be with her family, if she still had that luxury. So many people didn't in Destiny City.
"So what's the MO when we see one of these things? They're strong, fast--deadly, sometimes." He stared at Vulcan for a moment, like he'd just tasted something sour. "Do they even have an easily targeted weakness, or are we just ******** class="quote">wuthering gee
