It wasn't often that Eta wandered the streets of Destiny City during the day-- not because she didn't enjoy sunlight, but because the majority of the 'business' that drew her out and away from home was best conducted away from the prying eyes of others. There were many risks involved in awakening a new senshi if they weren't alone. If the Negaverse was nearby, if any sort of scene was created...

She had started her venture in the late afternoon, following the distinct feel of something new tingling on the edge of her senses. Her venture had lead her through town, unknowingly following the path of a young woman between stores. When she'd gotten close enough to confirm the feeling she knew what she had to do, it was just a matter of getting her alone to avoid raising suspicions.

Eta trotted after the young woman and her swaying bags, keeping track of the other shoppers that passed nearby. There weren't many, thankfully, the day of the week and the hour likely having something to do with that... It meant that she had a clear shot for intervention, hopefully. As the two neared the parking lot, Eta played up the cat act and began to meow to draw attention to herself.

Well, the young woman had taken notice of her and that was certainly a start. It meant something in the grand scheme of things, even if it wasn't a whole lot. She continued to trot after her, pausing just off to the side as she waited patiently for her target to load her purchases into her car. It was so difficult to be a Mauvian sometimes...

"Meow. Meow. Meoooow." She continued to make stereotypical feline noises. The more she continued on the more the sound took on an almost song-like quality. Was she singing? Possibly. Making regular cat noises all the time was just so boring. Meowing in time along with a tune was really a much better way to spend her time.

"I have had that or as long as I can remember." Eta replied simply as she sat back on her hindquarters, paw coming up to lightly bat at the young woman's hand. She would have preferred more privacy, but she couldn't risk losing her new charge's attention right now. There was important work to do; things that needed to be addressed before they were interrupted.

"I am Eta, a Mauvian-- or Guardian Cat. That's usually how we're described, seems easier that way. I, goodness... I hope I haven't lost you yet. I have so much more to tell you, and not likely much time." Her tail ticked behind her as she watched the young woman, hoping to judge her reaction as she spoke. As much as she enjoyed finding new senshi, it was never easy trying to explain things like this to civilians whose lives were just about to change forever.

"If you've been in Destiny City for a while I'm sure that you've noticed that things are strange, to say the least... Attacks at night, monster sightings? Maybe you thought they were just stories, meant to help enforce curfew?" Her head cocked to the side sea-green eyes lingering on the young woman to make sure she hadn't lost her entirely. After tracking her for the better part of the day, she didn't want to risk loosing her in the event she decided to bolt.

"I'm afraid it's all real. That might be terrifying, and it probably sounds awful, but you aren't alone. There are others like you who are fighting against the monsters. There are others like me who are here to help guide you to the best of our abilities... What's your name, dear?" She asked, reaching out to lightly rest a paw on the young woman's arm.

"It would be so much easier if they were just gangs in fancy uniforms, Marta, but they aren't... People go missing and bad things happen because of an organization called the Negaverse. Brave people fight against them, soldiers granted power from the stars and other celestial bodies above. You are a sailor soldier-- a senshi." Eta tried to keep her tone reassuring and genitle, not wanting to startle the young woman who seemed to be taking everything in stride so far. She was strong, brave to have kept herself from running away from a talking cat.

Eta stepped back, shifting on her paws before springing into the air to turn a somersault. When her paws touched the ground a henshin pen sat between them. The silver tabby batted the pen lightly towards the young woman. "This is yours. If you hold this and say Fomalhaut, Power Make-Up! it will answer some of your questions, and likely bring up a dozen more. I'll be here to answer all of them, if you trust me."

"The Negaverse steals energy from people, at best and at their worse they take something much more precious-- their starseed. In terms that might sound more familiar, it's like your soul. It's that spark of light inside of you that they want to either extinguish or tarnish." She would tell the young woman that there was a chance that they weren't all bad, and that her Senshi, Sailor Corvus, thought that there might be a chance to redeem them... But she didn't want to overwhelm the girl more than she already was.

"When you're wearing that costume you are Sailor Fomalhaut and no one will know you are anyone else. It is very important that you don't tell anyone that you don't trust entirely your real name. I don't mean to frighten you, but your life could depend on it." It was important that she impart as much information as she could on the young woman, wanting to tap in on that excitement while she had the chance to do so.

"When you power up it is wise to make sure that you aren't inside your home or in an area that someone might see you. As a sailor scout you will give off something that we call an aura. You'll be able to feel other people with powers like yours. Other senshi and knights will feel warm and light. The Negaverse... Do you know that feeling that you're being followed? When there's a strange prickle at the back of your neck or along your arms?" Eta cocked her head, watching Fomalhaut for a sign that she knew what kind of feeling that was. She didn't know how to explain it any better, other than maybe walking into a cold, dangerous shadow.

"If Senshi are soldiers than Knights are defenders. They're here to protect the people-- not that Senshi aren't as well, but..." Sometimes war wasn't pretty and sometimes those fighting it seemed to forget that there was no point at all in it if the planet and those inhabiting it were destroyed in the process. "Knights are what agents of the Negaverse would be if their starseeds weren't filled with Chaos. That's a lesson for another time, though. For now..."

The slender feline stepped away from the senshi once more, doing another turn that produced a small mobile device this time. "This phone is yours. It will allow you to contact me and other Senshi that you meet. Once it's on and opened there's a button that will take you to the Senshi Primer. There is a lot of information in there-- most of it's good, some of it could use a bit of an update, but it's a start if anything I've told you this evening is overwhelming." Which she was certain it was.

Stepping back again, Eta took a good look at the newly minted senshi. "I will always be available if you need me. You can just scan me with your phone and it will add my contact information to your database."
