Kieza let out a long, long sigh. "Please?" No. "Suwayeth." No. Kieza ran at the bright dragon, racing to grab her head. Which the silly creature had managed to adorn with strips of long sea-grass. "Suwayeth, you're dirty!" Suwayeth snorted, dancing out of her rider's reach. I think I look dashing! Kieza scoffed and jumped at the dragon, narrowly missing grabbing onto a lanky leg. Thankfully, Kieza did not note anyone else on this strip of beach. No one to witness her chasing of her dark and light green dragon. Mine, you are acting silly! "You're the one acting silly with those plants on your head!"

Finally, Kieza let out a exasperated growl at her dragon and threw her hands up over her head, turning to set herself down on the blanket she had brought. Suwayeth, noting her rider had stopped chasing her, had stopped, and taking a few steps forward she snaked her head over and pressed her snout against Kieza's cheek. I am rather silly, aren't I? "No, you don't say."

The beach! The sunshine! The free time!! The running out to the beach, only to fall flat on her face! In the water! Was this deja vu?!

The poor teen had been attempting to make it to the water for some fun and a chance to gather shells, however the sudden change in texture left her staggering and looking far more ridiculous than she ever intended. Thankfully Remedy had been clinging to the back of her shirt and was unharmed despite rolling away from Soui and into the sand.

He creeled pitifully as the teen debated getting up or allowing herself to blend in and remain hidden, though she did extend her hand a bit to try and calm down her firelizard.

There was no resting or relaxing for Ph'ton on this gorgeous day. Not that he would have it any other way, really. He and Tinanath were having a grand romp on the beach, chasing each other around as the adolescent dragon played keep-away, staying just out of reach of his rider's grasping hands. It was almost an echo of Suwayeth's antics -- the difference being Ph'ton wasn't trying to get him to settle down.

"Gotcha!" the young man crowed, finally grabbing Tinanath's rear leg, which caused them both to tumble face first into the sand. Tinanath snorted in what passed for a dragon laugh and blew sand into Ph'ton's face. Fair enough, Mine! I surrender! He paused for a moment, then suddenly scrambled to his feet and leapt into the air, taking wing before Ph'ton could react. "Hey, no fair!"

Then Ph'ton spotted Jailla making her way onto the beach. "Hey, Jailla!" he called with a grin, stumbling as he tried to grab Tinanath's tail. He pushed himself up again and wiped the sand off the backside of his shorts, ignoring the fact there was sand stuck all over his skin. "You gonna play too?"

Jailla laughed at Ph’ton’s antics, reaching him. She almost made a grab for one of his hands. “I’ll play,” she agreed. “Help me convince Micheth to play,” she added, looking at her blue. “I keep telling him he needs to make friends, but he always insists Tinanath is enough.” She tsked, shaking her head. “C’mon Miche, come play with Tinanath at least.”

“Tinny, can you get him to play?”

Micheth has nested in the sand and was watching his siblings. His eyes were whirling a content blue, but it didn’t seem like he was willing to move just yet. I don’t have to join in their romping about to see how ridiculous everyone looks, he commented.

Suwayeth's head shot up as she heard a scramble on the sand. Someone is here, mine. The green dragon crooned, her eyes flashing orange in irritation. Of course, someone would encroach on her and her lovely rider's free time. "Is there? Perhaps someone is enjoying the beach too?" Kieza said quietly. But her words went unheard as suddenly the bright dragon was on her feet and leaping over Kieza, her wings unfurling to take wing. Compared to two months ago, flight was an easy feat to the green dragon, no longer taking tumbles back to earth. No, she glided on the sea breeze comfortably. Ah, there you are, little interloper... The thought shot out at the small figure who laid on the sands. As she flew over the girl, Suwayeth reached out and grasped the girl with both of her front legs, gathering her quarry up tightly. With two large wingbeats, the dragon pushed herself skyward, soaring upward and then banking to fly out over the waters, the bottom of her back legs skating the surface. If the girl's legs hung low enough, she too would feel the lick of the waves. Suwayeth, what do you... is that another person?! BE CAREFUL! The dragon snorted as she heard her rider's concern. I've got the child... she'll not fall. I promise, Mine. After a few more moments of flight over the water, Suwayeth turned her wing slightly, tilting her direction back to shore, where she saw her worried rider standing just beyond the water's edge. With a few slow, careful flaps she deposited the girl on the beach next to her dragonrider and fluttered back into the waters, splashing the both of them as her frame landed in the water.

She'd been seeing the sand all nice and brown and feeling the tide, warm yet cool with an air of salt, when suddenly she was up in the air. The sudden change in scenery and sensation had her almost gagging but she swallowed it down when she looked up and noticed the claws about her arms. "Ooowaaahhhh!" The sensation of flying was nothing new since she had to fly to even get to Western, but to be carried in this manner was certainly a first. Soui refrained from kicking her legs lest the topple the balance of whatever dragon this was, and before she could really enjoy the ride she was on the sands. "Ahh, done already?" It was hard to hide the disappoint in her voice despite the sparkle in her eyes. "Thank you so much for that!" Her call was out towards the dragon in the surf before she turned to the rider at her side. "And thank you as well, for allow me the chance to interact with your dragon! I'm sure Remedy enjoyed it too!"

The teen reached to her shoulder to check and see the state of affairs of her bronze firelizard....only to notice he wasn't there. She'd completely left him in the sands, quite a bit away from where she was now, and Soui's face paled. "....I'm missing Remedy."

At first Kieza was ready to apologize for her dragon's actions (the thought which warranted a huff from the dragon) who now wallowed in the water, sending up sprays of droplets of water which sparkled quite prettily in the bright sunlight, but she stayed her words when she noted the flushed, excited look on the girl's face. Had the girl actually enjoyed the sudden flight? Hmm. Kieza smiled instead. "Suwayeth apologizes for the sudden interruption." She felt the grumble exude from Suwayeth, who was not apologetic in the slightest. As the girl spoke, Kieza's smile faded a tinge. "Remedy? Is that another person?" I think she might have had a flit with her... Suwayeth crooned, a twinge of 'oops' in her thoughts. "You think?" Kieza sighed. "Spooks. Bug. Leaf? Little ones, I need you." She called out verbally, and sent out thoughts to the nesting flits who had hid themselves on some warm quiet spot of the beach. At her beckon, two green flits and outraged blue appeared, chirping and chattering. They landed on her, small claws hooking gently onto her shoulders and Leaf on her pant leg. "Little ones, there's a flit all alone on the beach. Please. Bring him here." She murmured gently. Suwayeth snorted and sent a mental image to the chattering gaggle who immediately disappeared. They reappeared a few moments later with the small firelizard in tow. Leaf and Bug - the two greens - hissed at Spooks as he tried and failed to divebomb the bronze flit. With a whirl of red eyes, Spooks disappeared to sulk. Kieza tutted softly and the two flapped away from the bronze to land upon Kieza, chattering. They were clearly pleased with themselves on a job well done. She rubbed each of their little heads with a fingertip, which elicited a feeling of joy from them. They were interesting creatures to say the least. "I hope he's uninjured... he's still rather small. Rather new?" She said, peering curiously at the little bronze.

Suwayeth snorted, dragging herself from the water. She wandered close to Kieza and leaned her head down to set heavily on one of her shoulders, dripping with water. It's just a bronze... like any other bronze boy. Kieza rolled her eyes, and pushed at her dragon's head. "Be nice, jealous creature." She tutted, her eyes meeting the doting purple gaze of her dragon.

There was a brief moment of worry before the firelizards came back, and Soui sighed loudly in relief at the tiny little fleck of shine among the sky and the grass. "You look out of place, bronze boy. Thank you, to the three of you. He's very important to me." Her little joke was met with a sad croon, followed by the tiny bronze all but throwing himself into her arms. He was young, as it was obvious, but Soui didn't seem to mind giving him all the affection he wanted.

Now she needed to answer the young woman's questions, and the little teen nodded. "He's less than a sevenday old, and so he's...a bit special to me. I named him Remedy." At the mention of his name the flitter raised his head up and chirped, looking from the greens to the massive dragon that stood behind. For a moment he stared, but just as soon as his wits returned he was tucked into Soui's elbow and hoping to be hidden. "I think....he's terrified of your dragon, ma'am. He's giving off a feeling of....awe? Which is a shame, because I think she's absolutely stunning."

Anxious Spirit

It was going to get busy, soon. Not that the beach wasn't a popular spot to be almost year round, but summer was approaching, and while Stormy didn't mind losing herself in the crowd every once in a while, she also wasn't sure how she would take to the noise. So that day she took some lotion along with water and a light snack and made a staycation of sorts with her off day to her favorite place in the world: the beach.

There was something indescribably relaxing about being there, from the sound of the rolling waves to the sensation of burying her toes in the sand. Stormy could lull there for an hour and barely notice time passing. As it was, however, she was broken from her reverie instead by the sounds of dragons and flits at play. She turned to watch as surreptitiously as she could, uncorking her travel flask to drink.

The green dragon was stunning, she thought. To be fair, so were her brothers. Stormy's gaze shifted between them curiously, as if trying to etch their unique designs into her head. But no, it wasn't at all creepy to just look and not say anything. No sir.

Standing with her arm propped against a tree and her half lidded gray eyes sweeping out across the beach, the tall woman soaked in the happenings with a bit of amusement. As always she was categorizing things, taking in the flying green from her own Weyrling's clutch that snagged what appeared to be a small weyrbrat or possible candidate up from the sand, the romping blue that danced over the sands while his rider was talking to a young girl, even the older teen that seemed to be watching the first green with eyes full of awe. All of it was filed away into her room, thrown amok so that she'd have to actually file them later, but noting them all the same. Amra's face was completely devoid of emotion despite the relaxing glow that she was experiencing in light of her own dragon's antics.

Seirath was overjoyed to be snuggling down into the sands and had proceeded to bury herself like some sort of odd crab, soaking up the warmth and burrowing deeper and deeper into the sand until she sent a lamenting thought of cold. Tilting her head so she could look at the small freckled green, the rider crooked the edge of her lips just slightly, not quite a smile to anyone else but more than one for her. An eruption of sand flying everywhere left her dusting off her skirt and exposed stomach, reaching down to rub a hand over the headknobs that were slowly getting closer and closer to her own height. Soon she wouldn't have to reach down at all, Seirath would be on the same level as her if not even larger. Though she would have been the first green to be so given Amra's height at 6'4", not to mention some blues were even on the same level she was.

She was going to need to invest in some long straps.

My lady, can we find a spot that's a bit brighter? The shade is nice enough I suppose, but I want to soak in the sun and warm my skin. Don't you want to be warm too? Seirath mumbled, indignation for the cold sand in her voice even as she was moving away from where her rider was standing and down towards the beach and inevitably her siblings that were being so boisterous. Which was of course within the dragon's own nature as well.

"If you're feeling cold you're more than welcome to go down there Seirath. There's still some things I want to see though." she responded in her deep voice, nodding her head to show the dragon that she was serious and chuckling softly as the green flounced down the sand towards the shining sunlight and her siblings that played below. It was to her amusement that the little green couldn't keep her emotions from showing in her movements, never had been able to and no matter what she tried to do she couldn't teach her that it might be fitting to hold back every once in a while.

Seirath not only didn't know the meaning of 'hold back' but she had never even considered that it might be a thing others did. That was fine though, Amra could be the the more reserved one if it meant that her beautiful green was herself.

A party at the beach. Rumor had it that a number of his siblings had gone down to the water to enjoy some free time in the surf, and Strigonth had been debating all afternoon on going or not. Suwayeth, he knew, would probably rather he not be in attendance. Or any male, for that matter. But Micheth wasn't unenjoyable company, and Tinanath was simply charming. And Seirath, of course, was simply lovely. Never a bad thing to see and be seen, hmm? The blue swiveled his head to study his rider, considering. It was true enough. And the sun, while often a bit too bright for him, did feel wonderfully warm. Perhaps he could find a shady place to lounge...

Why not take some of the newer weyrlings along. Suss out them a bit more, hmm? D'mar hadn't bothered to look up from his work—even now his correspondence to certain holds and weyrs remained unabated. A perfect idea. Now. Let us see who is about... With eyes a bright green, the blue rose from his perch, stretching languidly before creeping out to the bowl on silent steps to see who he might find. A familiar face caught his eye first (and so radiantly white in the bright sun, how could Baihath not?)...but then a glitter, curled up in the sun, diverted him. In an instant he could feel D'mar pause in his writing, staring into the middle distance as Strigonth relayed just what he'd come upon.

...We haven't even taken the time to greet her yet, have we?

Not that I recall. So horribly rude.

Rectify that, won't you?

Of course I will. The precious darling ought to have us down on bent knee for our lack of etiquette.

They'd seen the baby gold from afar, of course, but lessons had increased around the same time. Flying, between. It left them more tired than was ideal for socializing. But now they could make up for it! He crossed towards the gold, but reached out with a thought to the scampering white as well. Baihath, would you like to go on a small adventure today? ...My lady. He sank into a stoop as he neared the gold, sagging onto an extended arm, one wing extending and dipping as he executed the closest approximation he could manage to a bow. Forgive my presumption in approaching you. I am Strigonth...and perhaps, if you are amenable, you would allow me to escort you down to the beach. I believe several of my brothers and sisters are there, but it seems terribly rude to exclude you and yours, just because you're a bit smaller, and younger.

Oh. My. Gosh. There was a party going on, or something, and Baihath was practically vibrating with excitement! He'd immediately darted out to round up as many of his siblings as he could, and had found his beautiful, sleepy sister drowsing in the sunshine, as usual. Khamiath! There is a party! We should go and see, yes? Pleasepleasepleaseplease??? He dropped down to wiggle furiously at his sister, his eyes whirling with glee.

And then he heard a familiar voice.

Spinning immediately, Baihath cheeped with delight to see his blue friend. Strigonth! Hello! This is Khamiath! I always want to go on an adventure! Help me convince her we should all go? Pleaaaaaaaase? The gray dropped onto his side, pawing lovingly at his golden sibling. See? Even a older, handsome blue wanted to go! That meant it was totally worth it, right???

A party on the beach, yet Khamaith had been quite content to stay drowsy in the sun. Half laying on her side, wings outstretched to soak up as much sun as she could. Ezyzu was still finishing up her last chore, and while the prospect of a party and such lovely company had been very alluring.. So was the prospect of taking a nap. Her eyes were all but closed, yet dear Baihath had kept her from sleeping fully. Not, of course, that she minded--she quite adored her wonderful, energetic brother. The energy to her calm.

It does sound fun. She was overly fond of the beach, with it beginning the start of her life and the most pleasant of her memories on the sands with the coast not far away. Spending time with Baihath? Even if he wasn’t overly fond of her game of napping, he was still good company. She might even play one of his games.

However, the voice addressing her, his lady?, had her turning to see the larger blue dragon that had silently approached. He looked a bit familiar. Between lessons, Ezyzu would take her out to watch the dragons fly-and sometimes watch the older weyrlings in their flight practice. She sat up as he bowed, tucking her head inside her wing to cover her yawn privately -- yet curious about this display. Yet it wasn’t without an odd flittering in her hearts. Baihath knew this blue --Strigonth, as well. That had to account for something, and her eyes whirled a brighter blue. It is quite nice to meet you as well, Strigonth. There was a touch of confusion at his overt cavalier attitude, but perhaps that was simply how he was. She was just a gold, not the weyrwoman. Yet she couldn’t deny that the simple remarks were very.. Nice. I am Khamaith.

Finishing up her last chores and putting her broom away, Ezyzu paused as she felt Khamaith’s stirring and excitement. One of the older weyrling dragons? She had heard about the gathering happening on the beach, but she had to at least look.. more or less acceptable after getting rather dirty cleaning up.

Baihath is here, and knows Strigonth. Yet the excitement that was bubbling in her soft voice was easily felt.

Go on ahead, stay with Baihath please. I’ll meet you there. And perhaps go grab Alya on her way, as well...

Khamaith’s eyes whirled a bit brighter, slowly stretching as she stood up. Mine has agreed to meet us down there, but I would very much appreciate the escort. Are you ready, Baihath? Whenever you both are ready, of course.

Trust Baihath to take his side on anything to do with fun or adventure. The little white had enough energy for three dragons, all bundled into one. Admittedly, he'd kept half the barracks awake with unceasing questions and thoughts more than once, but it was...somewhat endearing. He was just so very keen about life. Khamaith, you say? Thank you, splendid Baihath, for sharing her name with me. I would be more than happy to see if we can't get her to come along. Fun shared is fun doubled, after all, right? It was...charming to see how the white pawed at his sibling. Such a close, loving bond. It was not the sort of thing many in his own clutch shared. It was hard to miss something you'd never had though, and he felt no jealousy about it.

He refocused on the gold when she turned to regard him—it'd be rude not to give a lady his attention, right? Khamaith. It is a true pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. I'm afraid I've been a bit remiss in finding the time to greet you all...You are, in a way, our new younger siblings, hmm? And never mind that he didn't particularly care for most of his siblings. Sarcoth was quite fine, but...well. Then I shall do my best to see you safely there, so that your rider needn't worry.

The blue paused a moment, glancing at both small hatchlings and thinking...My D'mar, you really should join us. He reached out to caress his rider's mind, receiving a fond nudge back. Perhaps. That was enough to assuage the blue. It is something of a walk—I remember quite well how long it felt on hatchling legs. Should you like, Khamaith, Baihath, I would carry you on my back part of the way. Or all the way, if they preferred. He was certain his smooth gait would make for a comfortable ride.

Yes! The white dragon wiggled with glee before he bounded to his feet once more. It sounded like so much fun, and he wanted to meet all those new people as soon as he could! He shot off, his claws scrabbling against the sand as he raced towards the much larger blue. Strigonth was bounded around in delighted circles even as the Vampire spoke to his sister. When she began to rise to her feet, the small hatchling froze in place, his eyes whirling with excitement and anticipation as he waited for her response... and...

Yessss! He crowed gleefully, practically hopping in place. I'm ready, I'm ready! Baihath quickly let His know, giggling to himself when she reacted with alarm. How did he always sneak away from her?!

Baihath certainly hadn't expected to be offered a ride though, and the thought made his tail go stiff with surprise. Soon, it wiggled with delight. That sounds like fun! Right Khamaith?! Oh, but you should go first, because you get so sleepy! I can run really, really, really fast and keep up!

That sounded like an amazing game to him!
