Located at the bottom of the scar, the gully is effectively the coast on either side of the ocean waters. With local docks lining almost the entire thing fishing is very common. Even young ninja like to use the plentiful fish for kunai practice. Of course below first twenty feet of water things begin to become rather frightening. Deep down below reside great and terrible beasts of the ocean. Only the bravest and most well equipped of divers dare to go down below where the light wanes.

__ Zhi squatted atop of the highest point she had been able find in the Gully since moving her a couple years ago. She sighed, staring toward the north where she knew her star-crossed love and dearest friend, Taylor, was probably still residing now. Leaving him to find Kazekage Ayame and other comrades from the Hidden Sand was an extremely tough decision. It was easily more saddening than when he had said his goodbye to her back at the Eternal Forest. 'I should go visit him. See if he's still grieving for his sensei, or feeling bad about Buggy's rejection. He doesn't say much in letters...' In fact, Zhi was worried that it had been so many months since she got a response from Taylor. Sighing heavily, the girl lifted her chin from her supporting palms. Her arms fell in toward her thighs with each elbow still resting on her thighs. Zhi closed her eyes and decided to just relax with a quick sensory sweep. The Land of Whirlpools was incredibly small compared to the Land of Wind. She could not only sense everyone in the village, but also this entire island as well as much of the neighboring ones. Even still, she was rather bummed that she hadn't had much success in advancing her sensory talents for so long.
It didn't take long for her innate inability to remain still to kick in. Zhi sprang up into a standing posture and stretched a little. "Lady Bastet would want me to keep working hard." She thought back to all the useful jutsu and skills that had been imparted to her before and during the last war from her sensei; there were so many, but all of them helped her get closer to her personal goal of also one day being recognized as a hero- like Bastet, or the other Kazekage too. "I have to get stronger so I can keep my promises after all!!" Zhi's usual pep came back in the blink of an eye, and just as quickly did she vanish from her vantage point. A little workout to learn more jutsu would surely do her well before she sought some work to help out around this village some more.

He stood at the top of the precipice that Zhi had been standing on most recently before her training began. He had observed the whole time. He assumed that she knew of his presence before he had arrived. He had after all been in the village for almost a week. He now wore the Whirlpool Village Headband upon his right sleeve, tied at the shoulder. On the other hand, she might not have remembered his chakra signature. It had been five years prior to now since he had been within one hundred miles of her. He watched patiently, awaiting her reaction. She would notice just before rushing off into the village...

__ Just as Zhi sprang up to take off and train, she changed her mind. Instead she'd turn her attention to her OLD sempai who seemed to have fixated his attention on her after finishing all that training at the village's dojo and academy a short while ago. Like her self would have five years ago, Zhi spared no time to greet Masato as quickly as she could. The adolescent girl vanished and reappeared just a few feet to the Uchiha's right faster than one might blink thanks to her mastered jinton shunshin skill. Her eye level nearly met a forty-five degree angle from how far away they were and due to the difference in height as she addressed him, "Heya Muscle-sempai! How'reya doin'!?" Zhi saluted with a peace sign raised beside her left eye and a playful smirk with her tongue sticking out slightly. She could say that him staring at her like that was a liiiiiiittle creepy, but then again... she was the one that could and generally did keep surveillance on the whole village twenty-four seven.

Masato smirked as her attention took a turn towards him. In an instant, she would vanish and reappear directly before him...but not near eye level. His eyes shifted downward, barely able to make eye contact with her short disposition. Her cheerful disposition had not changed...but it seemed like her energy had at least managed to level out somewhat....slightly with her maturity.
" Seems as though you haven't changed much." His stare moved from her figure to the ocean ahead. " It's so different from home." He said, refering to the ocean. He was used to a vast ocean of sand. But water? No. It wasn't his cup of tea.

__ Zhi stared back out at the sea and shuddered when Masato mentioned the change in scenery. "I really hate it though. Too much water and not enough sand!" She stomped her foot softly on the rooftop so to not disturb the one moving around in the building under them. A heavy sigh ensued with her hands now resting on her hips. Then she looked back up at Masato and retorted, "And for your in-for-ma-tion, sempai, I have changed quite a bit!" A grin grew into presence and Zhi said, "I'm almost strong enough to be a true hero like Lady Bastet! There's so much I know and can do now!" She resisted the urge to flex, mostly because she was sure that Masato could flex better than she could.

Masato would raise an eyebrow, almost unsure of her answer. His black eyes would remain as such but she would almost feel him piercing her with his eyes attempting to size her up. He reflected on her training with him years ago. He decided she was most likely able to keep that word. " What would you do with that new power?" He asked. He was rather forward. Still, wanted to know what Zhi intended to do. Get stronger, Revenge, Nothing? Power without purpose was useless.

Her hands slid off her developing hips and hung at her sides, but one raised to gesture for the tall man to lean in closer to hear her at whispering distance. Once he was closer she said hushedly, "I need to get stronger so I can find that buggy bijuu that rejected Taylor. He's been super sad since your sensei... y'know..." She knew that the topic might also be at least a little sensitive even to a guy like Masato. Both he and Taylor seemed really close to their teacher. Honestly, she was still really worried about Bastet too, but at least her teacher wasn't necessarily dead. Right? Maybe...? Hopefully... ...?

The Uchiha's eyes widened as Zhi brought up Taylor and the death of their teacher. He hadn't expected the conversation to arise so soon. But he had no idea where Taylor was. More concerning, and aggravating was her interest in the Seven Tail. " Blondie...you haven't seen him?" He would allow his concern to rest to the side. Masato was extremely dissapointed to hear that his close ally five years ago had dropped off the radar. Converely, he was happy to recall Taylor failing to seal the 7 tailed beast. Perhaps his friend did not have the constitution in him to carry the demon. His interest on the girl's goals would draw him in. " Zhi...you can't confront a Bijuu on your own." He drew his top back just enough to display a discolored scar on his chest, she would surely place it together that it was from the 4 tailed demon five years ago. " If you insist on seeking it out, I refuse to let you go alone. No more people will suffer from the beasts if I can prevent it." He turned to the horizon, wondering if he would be able to pull together more individuals. He wouldn't let her fight the Bijuu alone...was hesitant about allowing her to seal it. He wouldn't express his true feelings. He couldn't let anyone incapable of restraining the demon hold it's form.

"Oi! If you're going monster hunting, you're gonna need more than Mr. Skinny Arms there" If the two looked up they would see Karuto sitting atop a telephone pole, staring down at them. With a grunt he would throw himself off, letting himself fall to the ground with a surprisingly soundless landing. "I've traveled all over the world in my study of Taijutsu- studying in every land during my quest. If we're looking for something big, I can track it" He looked between the two expectedly. He didn't know Zhi very well, they ran int different crowds, but he knew Masato was still, at his core, the same. He wouldn't be able to resist the challenge to see which of them could bag the beast first.

__ Zhi had sensed the large man's approach while she was conversing with Masato. The figure poised himself atop of a telephone pole that was protruding from the cliff-bound structures of the Gully. Zhi feigned ignorance from her unrivaled sensory abilities to allow the admirably dramatic entry. In the meantime, Zhi laid eyes upon Masato's scar and nodded with a thankful smile when he volunteered himself to help her in such a conditional manner. She then looked to Karuto when he landed on the rooftop with them and also offered his muscles to aid in the effort. Zhi just giggled softly after he finished talking and said, "You muscle-heads just keep on multiplying, huh? That's super neat though. The more the merrier, but we'll still have to get Lady Sanae's permission to use her village's resources. Otherwise we're on our own for it all." Zhi tapped her chin in thought as she spoke but then snapped back to attention to stare up at the man who stood even larger than Masato, "I'm Zhi by the way! The best sensory ninja in the world, and easily the fastest ninja too~!" If they could brag about being taijutsu masters or whatever then she could show some pride in her own abilities. "Also, I bet I can track anything and everything better than you, Thor." Zhi showed nothing short of boundless resolve in the face of these two towering men.

Saiko followed Karuto to the spot expecting the training to perhaps take place in separate area as it was a spiritual taijutsu that he was intending to learn. The tall lithe man kept walking until he came along Zhi and Masato, having loss track of Karuto. Before he could say anything he would look up to find Karuto on top of a light pole, talking about monster hunting. Saiko had only barely heard something about buggy. He wasn't sure what they were really talking about. "I'll offer my help if you need it." Saiko would say to the group of shinobi that had gathered, not really sure what he had offered his aid for. He wasn't one to brag about his abilities but, he knew whatever it was he would be able to help them. The main reason being was that they were all from Suna and the shinobi from suna were practically the only family he had left. For a brief moment his mind flashed to holding the lifeless corpse of his mother and his hand would raise to his locket, gripping it gently. 'No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden of others.' Was what came to mind as he thought of his mother.

__"Greetings, mortals!" Suddenly, Tetsuhiko came into view as heavy footsteps pounded on the dock as well as the sound of moving puppet joints. His voice boomed out from the other end of the docks as he approached the group of ex-Suna ninjas. "Your eyes hath not deceived you! It is I, the immortal God of Art and Beauty!" This was a god who needed no introductio but that never stopped him from reminding the humans when they were in the presence of an eternal piece of exquisite art! Tetsuhiko then stopped walking and waved his arms dramatically. "Tetsuhiko Hanzo! Look on my works ye mighty and despair!" He then flipped his synthetic doll hair that was perfectly crafted and batted his artisenal eyelashes. You could say that Tetsuhiko was a man who knew how to put his heart and soul into his work...literally! "Oh my, I'm just so beautiful I wish I could stand where they are now drinking in the sight of me!" The art god then ended his soliloquy and glanced towards them. "So what are my fellow desert refugees meeting about? I didn't get the memo!" Now this meeting was something that was piquing his interest and he simply had to know!
