((Time skip after what happened here))

Kyle
When it was apparent that Matt wasn't coming after him, Kyle had picked himself up to sit on the sand and reflect on everything that had happened. He was pathetic. Matt probably didn't want anything to do with him from now on after all that. Maybe he should pack up his things and head back to his room down in the basement where scum like him belonged.

Retracing his steps back to the training ground, he searched the entire field for Semaj but turned up with nothing. It was probably Matt's doing in any case. Yet another reason for him to approach the older Moon hunter which was the last thing that he wanted to do right now.

Unable to return to his own room given that he had left the keys to that in Matt's, he very slowly made his way back to the dorms. Maybe if he played his cards right, Matt would be out on one of the many infirmary shifts that the Moon tended to pick up.

Matt
It was quiet, even from Kasi as Matt put her and Semaj into the drawer before heading off to take a long hot shower, or at least as hot as it would get at Deus. It gave him a chance to think of the words he wanted to say, or at least seep the bitter edge of them out of and down the drain so that when Kyle did return he maybe wouldn’t run so quickly away.

After the shower he headed back to the room, dressed in attire that he normally didn’t wear to the infirmary and took some time to snack on a granola bar as lunch. It wasn’t until he heard noise outside of the door that he realized that the sun hunter had finally returned, sooner than he thought but at least returned. Getting up he moved to the door swinging it open with a rather disapproving look written across his face letting silence hang heavy in the air.

Kyle
Standing at the door and fiddling with his keys, Kyle tried to be as quiet as he could about it, figuring that he could turn around and come back later if Matt was still around and waiting for him. What he hadn't been expecting though was the Moon hunter in question to suddenly open the door for him with an obviously displeased look all over his face. He froze in place at that. His facial expression akin to a deer caught in the headlights as he quickly took a step back. "I... I didn't know you were in. I'll come back later..."

Matt
“Get in.” Matt replied briskly as he stepped far enough out of the way so Kyle could walk in, but close enough to let the door slam behind him. As much as he had hoped the shower hadn’t let enough of the anger to fade away, it simply just resurfaced as soon as he saw the younger man’s face, which just made him more annoyed at Kyle and himself.

“You need to apologize.” It as a sharp response as he moved towards the draw to pull the cross necklace out that sat neatly next to his own. He had at least taken some time to clean the dirt off at Kasi’s request and as a way to apologize to Semaj even if Matt didn’t have the foggiest idea how the weapon was feeling.

Kyle
Kyle felt his blood turn cold at Matt's words but did as he was told in the end without another word. Stepping into the room and feeling like he was about to be flayed alive by the other hunter, he winced when the door was slammed shut behind him. This was a side of Matt that he had never dealt with before and he certainly wasn't looking forward to whatever came next either.

"... I know." He mumbled quietly as he looked up and at the cross necklace that the older hunter was retrieving from the drawer.

Matt
“You need to apologize to him.” He pressed the necklace into Kyle’s palm with a dark look across his face, the words still sharp and bitter. “It wasn’t his fault that he didn’t re-summon, nor is it his fault that you lost today. You are inexperienced and you will continue to show your faults if you treat him like an object and less like someone who is there to help you. As much as you don’t like it he is your partner here and will do what he can to help you like not re-summoning when you are out of energy and in risk of harming yourself more.”

Matt turned back to the drawer to pull the necklace that was Kasi out and slipped it into his coat pocket, the expression of disappointment lingered on his face . “I’m on shift in an hour so I suggest you use your time wisely and get better acquainted with your weapon.”

Kyle
Closing his fingers around the cross necklace, Kyle chewed on his lower lip as he listened to Matt's words. "I will. I know I was wrong back there to do that but I've never treated him like an object."

Closing his eyes briefly, he shook his head a few times and shivered at how sick he was feeling from the fear and anxiety he was getting from the situation itself. "I'll... work on it. Are we done... through... over...?"

Matt
“I couldn’t tell.” Again, the words were sharp as he glanced over at Kyle, if Kasi had her way she would have already fried the younger hunter into oblivion without little regret. That wasn’t to say he hadn’t done a few things himself when they were first stuck together but she had done a lot to help him and he had learned to trust her after a period of time it was something Kyle would have to learn for himself.

Opening the door Matt paused, not turning around as his voice settled in a dark tone. “No. I didn’t say you had to apologize to me, this was never about me and you it’s only about you and him so there is no reason to consider ending this.”

Kyle
It was never about them huh. That might have put some of Kyle's fears to rest for now though he was starting to wonder if things would ever be the same between them anymore with how cold the Moon hunter was treating him now. He wanted so much to go over to Matt. To apologize to him for being such an idiot. But he couldn't. He didn't feel that he had the right to after how badly he had ******** up back there. "Guess I'll see you later then..." If Matt didn't up and leave him first that is.

Matt
“I’ll see you after my shift or so.” Matt still didn’t turn to look at him, instead he just let the door close behind him as he headed to the infirmary. Hearing the door click close he let loose a shaky breath and stood there looking at the floor for a moment. Half of him screamed wanting to go back inside and apologize for what he had done, the other half knew that if he did that Kyle wouldn’t learn anything being coddled.

Kyle
It hurts still to get the cold shoulder treatment from Matt even if he deserved it. Sitting himself in a corner of the room with Semaj 's totem clutched in his hands, he pulled his knees up to his chest and simply waited for Matt to return.
