A press release from FFA announced today, as reported previously, that there would not be any normal TV shows for September. Instead, FFA would be spacing their normal Proving Grounds PPV out into several nights this month, with big matches headlining each night. The possibility of this becoming an annual tradition was suggested to be very strong. The reasoning from the press release appeared to be this would allow more time for the wrestlers to rest after a hellacious Cataclysm event, while also making Proving Grounds a more important event every year, with multiple cities getting to take part as they take turns becoming the titular proving grounds for the FFA competitors, with the second FFA match of 2017 looming in their future.
The shows and cities were also announced in the press release and were as follows;
Night One - Seattle (Proving Grounds: Seattle)
-Main Event: Seita Gray vs Marx for the FFA World Championship
Night Two - Boston (Proving Grounds: Boston)
-Main Event: J-Money vs Railery for the FFA Platinum Championship
Night Three - San Diego (Proving Grounds: San Diego)
-Main Event: Team D&D vs Katie and Kelsey vs The Bloody Stampede for the FFA Co-Op Championships
Night Four - Las Vegas (Proving Grounds: Las Vegas)
-Main Event: Championship Chase Finals
The "Championship Chase" was ALSO announced, scheduled to begin on Night Two in Boston. Four wrestlers will wrestle in a fate four way match, where the loser will be eliminated, leading to a triple threat on Night Three in San Diego, which will lead to a singles match between the remaining two wrestlers to determine the new Number One contender for the FFA World Championship at Exile in October. The singles match will be the main event of the final night of Proving Grounds.
