Rhys’ head injury was a bit worse than they had anticipated. Rhys got a rather good crack on the head and had a hairline fracture to his skull. The hallowed was put on bed rest to ensure he didn’t stress himself out unnecessarily. It kinda sucked being stuck in bed. It meant no drinking, no going out to clubs, but on the plus side it did mean more videos games, a far more attentive girlfriend, and lots and food in bed. All while skipping classes. Sweet. Well, not skipping. He was out of school for a couple weeks while he healed, just in time to miss the boring part of the end of the school year.

--

Lavi knocked on Rhys’ bedroom door. He had come with a small platter of snacks and some tea for Rhys while he was on bed rest. He wanted to make sure his friend was well taken care of, especially considering that his whack on the head had been Laviticus’ fault. He had dragged him in the doctor’s office in hopes of avoiding a hospital visit … but as soon as the nurse had a look at him and the immediate bruising that was blooming, she arranged for an ambulance. The next thing they knew Rhys was being whisked away to the hospital for further examination.

“Hey, Rhys?” Lavi squeaked from behind the door. “Can I come in … “ He hoped his voice didn’t sound too guilty.

--
Rhys sat up in his bed, having been dozing lightly for the past twenty minutes. The knock had roused him enough, eyes still blinking heavily as he attempted to fend off the urge to sleep. “Hmmnggguuh … ?” What Rhys’ initial response, giving his head a small shake to try and curb the sand man.

“Mmmn, sorry. What?” Rhys’ words sounded a bit muffled as he struggled to speak through the heaviness. “Lavi … that you?” Rhys wasn’t sure if he had just actually fallen asleep was starting to dream now.

---

Lavi paused, staring at the door infront of him as if he could see through it. Was it because Rhys had been asleep or because his head injury was worse than feared? Lavi glanced down to his tray he had prepared for his friend and suddenly was doubting himself. What … what if he didn’t like what he had made, or couldn’t stomach some of the richer cheese Laviticus had brought? Oh, dear …

“Yes, it’s me.” Lavi finally answered. “May I come in?” He didn’t want to just barge on him, especially after he just whacked him on the head about a week ago.

--
“Mmmng, yah … one sec … wait, no … can you let yourself in?” Rhys had attempted to get up, but was too dizzy to stand for longer than a few moments. Laviticus was going to have to let himself in.

It dawned on him shortly that he was wearing his birthday suit. His sheets were clinging to his hips, but otherwise he was completely bare. As the door started to open Rhys suddenly whipped the sheets over himself, kicking his legs back in to the bed as Laviticus came in to view, a shocked expression on his face.

--

Laviticus paused as he passed through the door way as he saw the sheets fly over Rhys’ body, catching a small view of a part of Rhys Laviticus never thought he’d get a chance to see. Laviticus’ cheeks flushed, tendrils shuddering in embarrassment as he averted his gaze, once again choosing to focus on his plate.

“A-ahm! I brought you some food! I hope you like the spread I selected for you … “ Laviticus tried to not acknowledge what he just saw, or the bewildered expression on Rhys’ face. Hadn’t he been the one to say it was OK to come in? Then again, Rhys had always been pretty but kind of dumb … maybe he hadn’t realized he was nude until it was too late.

--
Rhys’ feathered ears flicked curiously as he spotted the platter, not paying any attention or cluing in to Lavi’s sudden shift in demeanour. He was far too focused on the food and what delicious treats might be waiting for him. “Sweet or savoury?” Rhys asked a bit selfishly, genuinely curious what was on the platter. “I haven’t eaten yet … but then again I was sleeping most of the morning.” Rhys propped himself up, preparing himself for his meal. “Also … thanks for coming to visit … you didn’t have to.”

--

“Yes I did,” Laviticus gave a gentle sigh as he made his way over to the bed, gently sitting down on the edge of the bed as he started pulling back the wrapping and removing the toothpicks one by one from the platter. “It was my fault after all. Even if it hadn’t been, I would still come to see you, and I still would have made you food.” Laviticus gently placed each of the toothpicks in to the now useless wrapping and bundled it all up together before setting the tray down between them.

His cheeks were still a bit pink. “Is this an alright place? I thought we could share … and it is a bit of both … “

--
“I’d love to share.” Rhys grinned brightly, exposing his fangs, his pupils constricting to small slits. “And yah, this is fine.” Rhys leaned forward, grabbing a couple crackers and the small knife and slathering a few spreads on each one before putting some cheese and meats on them to make the perfect cracker sammichs, popping the first one in to his mouth with a happy sound. <********’ yes.” Rhys said happily around his food, head tipping back as he gave a small chuckle. “I love artichoke spread. And garlic sausage. Good picks my man … “

--

Laviticus blushed for a different reasons and gently swatted at Rhys’ leg beneath the sheets, then quietly took a cracker for himself and spread a little bit of the marmalade on it before gently nibbling at it, watching as Rhys took his next several crackers. “I’m glad I could please you,” Laviticus commented quietly, offering a sweet, sincere smile. It was pleasing to watch Rhys munch away at his food, and laid to rest some of Laviticus’ fears. Today was going to be a good day, reminiscent of all the days their group used to have when they would hang out endlessly together. Laviticus wished it was under better circumstances, but he would take what he could get from Rhys.
