"Yunno ... I didn't ask what we were having ... I really hope we're having lemon chicken, though. The sweet kind? I doubt that, though. I'm sure Aten wants to make a good impression and deep-fried chicken in lemon garlic sauce coated sprinkled with sesame doesn't exactly say 'elegant'." Castiel snorted gently at that. It was probably more likely to be a family style dinner. Aten had started cooking before Castiel was even up. With a family so large as his, not only did you have to take in to account cooking time, but quantity too.

"Right ... " Castiel murmured quietly to himself as the two reached the door, and with a small, dainty breath in, Castiel twisted the door handle and took the lead, guiding them both in side to the spacious entranceway. Closing the door gently behind him, the sweet smells of their supper greeted the senses, wafting through the air and making Castiel's mouth water hungrily.

"I'm back!" the fallen called out. "And I brought Kai!" Castiel hoped someone was close by enough to hear him.

Someone was, but it was not who he was expecting. Paru was the one who answered, his raspy, quiet voice a mere croak as he rounded the corner. He wasn't blind — quite the opposite. His mutated eyes made everything over defined, like a sort of fish eye effect that glowed and rippled. It was like seeing auras or a constant light show. Paru was learning to deal with his trouble sight quite well, navigating with only slight difficulty around the corner to meet them.

"Castiel ... " the quiet voice of Paru spoke up. "Everyone is in the family room ... there's ... something you ... should know first ... "

Castiel chewed on his lower lip as time seemed to creep by so very slowly. Had someone been in an accident again? Was someone really sick, or in the hospital? There were a million scenarios that rushed through Castiel's head, a slow, whimpering sound escaping past his lips as he felt Kai squeeze his hand. It grounded him, a slow sigh escaping past his lips.

"What's up, Paru?" Castiel asked quietly, not sure if he really wanted to know the answer.

Paru shifted, brushing his long lock of hair back behind his shoulders. "We ... have a new family member," Paru paused for the briefest of moments, watching for Castiel's reaction. His older brother just blinked instead. "Dad has a brother ... our feather dad ... he's here."

"Here?" Now, of all times? This was supposed to be the day his family finally met Kai ... not the day their family met some long lost brother! UGH! "Why today ... " Castiel murmured disappointedly.

Castiel glanced side-long at Kai, listening intently t o every word he said. Mmn, perhaps he was right. Neither Castiel nor Kai particularly enjoyed the limelight, but Cas had been hopeful that it would be just their intimates today ... not ... not some stranger!

"Okay, okay ... " Castiel sighed heavily, his wings drooping. He hadn't realized he had been so rigid this entire time. A quick look at Paru made him realize just how stiff as a board he had really been as the worry washed right off his face.

"I'll meet you in the living room ... I was going to get a drink for Rekka ... oh — that's their name if I didn't mention it already ... " Paru offered a quick half smile before navigating away down a different hallway to the kitchen.

Castiel took in a deep breath, gently squeezing Kai's hand. "Alright, let's do this."

The room was indeed full. The eldest siblings, Rhys, was lounging on one of the couches all by himself, eating something with his chin propped up in his hand, his long hair spilling over his shoulders, one mutated wing folded over him like a blanket. Thema blinked her four eyes as the two walked in to the room, curious as to who the new guys was. Sagi was sitting next to her, cross shaped pupils expanding thoughtfully as he gave a small, cheerful wave. Paru was absent grabbing drinks, and Raa was sitting across the room away from everybody else, hunched over a chair. His eyes were pitch black with a small fleck of red in each eye — the indicator of his affliction as an infected. He was clearly keeping himself separate so as not to worry Rekka whose energy seemed nervous enough as it was. A towering imp — Aten — was walking around the room passing out light snacks to everyone and topping up tea cups, while two men who looked practically identical except for height and how their hair was styled sat next to one another on different couch adjacent from Rhys. One was more femme, and one a bit more "butch". Rekka and Smolder ...

Castiel leaned closer to Kai to whisper in to his ear, quietly and discretely pointing each one out by name. There were several not in attendance, such as Malikah, Anubis, Abasi, and a few "half" siblings who were probably with their mothers where they lived. "And I suppose that's Rekka ... " Castiel gestured with a subtle node to the femme fiery fallen sitting next to his father.

"Hey, guys!" Castiel said more loudly to draw a few heads. "I brought Kai with me ... "

Castiel's face when bright pink. What Kai really saying the words he thought he was saying right now? His blue eyes watered from embarrassment, not sure how his family would react. Smolder gawked, while Aten made a small hmm sound, but Rekka and Rhys had both burst out laughing, finding the whole thing amusing. Raa just averted his eyes while the smaller children just didn't understand the commentary.

"W-well now that that's out there ... !" Castiel said awkwardly. "R-Rekka ... ! You must be Rekka! How nice to meet you!" Ooooh, by the Nine, Kai! What have you doooone!

He had to bring the attention away from their sex life and fast. "How did you ... yunno, find us, Rekka?" but Rekka was still laughing too hard to give an answer, and Rhys was about to fall off the couch now. It seemed Rhys' sense of humor was finally explained ...
