Pompeii was finished with yet another shift at the clinic, and though she hadn’t been able to assist anyone today, she was still kind of proud of herself for sticking with this. It had been almost frightening to see how tired she had become when she had given some extra magic to the Doll the other day, she had even missed a class at school and hadn’t been able to come to her next two shifts at the clinic, but they understood, of course.
She was back now and feeling her best once more. But, now it was time to go home and the fey was more than happy to do so, stretching and gathering her things up, heading to the door and almost bumping into someone outside. “Oh! Gosh I’m sorry.” She quickly sidestepped and then blinked, staring in some confusion and awe at the Chomp that was in front of her. Of course she had heard some things about the Chomps and Shades who were beginning to integrate into the Below, but she hadn’t yet seen either species…
“Is there something I can help you with? I work here at the Fertility Clinic…do you need any assistance with that?” The Chomp had lovely hair and the coloring that their skin had was also quite pretty. The pinks and blues were honestly some of Pompeii’s favorite colors. “I’m Pompeii. It’s nice to meet you.”
Because this was totally normal, and totally how you made friends. Totally.

Ripley stood before the clinic, eyes staring up at its roof as the chomp surveyed the building's architecture.
Curious.
The chomp had just move to Below a short while ago, and was still adjusting to life and the business of city life.
Having known infertile individuals, the idea of a clinic was highly fascinating to Ripley. His star spun as he pondered to himself, wondering about the inner workings of the clinic. He was sure that there were going to be hundreds of people inside, based on the size of the building. It was just a guess, however. The Chomp had no way of knowing.
Flaring his levitating claws, effectively wiggling them, the steeled themselves and stepped forward to head inside to pick up a couple of pamphlets for his leisure. It would be educational, but also perhaps if he better understood how it worked his Shade friends would be less petrified of seeking help. They had been wanting to imbue for some months now ...
Just as Ripley took a lumbering step forward, the towering Chomp felt someone run in to him, his body hardening on contact as a reflex.
Ripley blinked, pale coloured pupils expanding from the sudden shock of being run in to. It was then he noticed the fey who had bumped in to him — he had heard they were a delicate race, and immediately the worry settled in.
Ripley opened his mouth, lips parting as he tried to speak, but the fey was already talking. He shut his mouth instantly, his long ears flicking subtly towards the sound of her voice coming from below.
He had to stop for a moment and figure out what he wanted to respond to first. He inhaled gently, his body softening once more and becoming far less rigid. "First ... I would like to apologize for having not seen you. While I am used to Shades being much smaller than myself, we know how to move around one another. I fear I have not learned the same coordination with other races just yet." Was this ... a good place to start? Oh, no. He was still talking. "As for help, I suppose I have two questions: do you have a second, larger door elsewhere that I might be able to enter through, and where can I find literature on your services?" Gods, he was so awkward! "Lastly, my name is Ripley. It is a ... pleasure? To make your acquaintance." This was how you talked to outsiders, right? This is how you made friends?

Pompeii nodded as the chomp spoke, still trying to really comprehend just how large he was. It was interesting to be near him…she felt so…so tiny. She hadn’t ever felt quite this small before now, it was just a little disconcerting. “Oh, don’t apologize, I pretty much flew out of there so, it was entirely my fault! Also…we…we don’t have a second door…I honestly hadn’t even thought of such a thing, but I’ll bring it up the next time I see my bosses…I…that’s such a big thing, I can’t believe it hasn’t been done yet! I…I’m so sorry.”
She paused and held up a finger. “I have literature…pamphlets, actually. Hang on, I’ll be right back with some. Stay here, okay, Ripley?”
The fey grinned still quite excited to be having a conversation with a chomp. Quickly, Pompeii darted back into the clinic, grabbing a few of the different pamphlets that explained the services that they provided and returned, holding them out to Ripley, her eyes finally landing on the floating claws. Woah. Of all the things about this seemingly gentle giant, that had to be the most interesting part. She wondered how they worked…how…well, magic obviously but…how interesting…
“It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance too, Ripley. I hope…I hope that these are enough to satisfy what curiosity you might have about the clinic here. I…I’m actually one of the battery’s here so, I mean. I’ve had at least one success story, so that’s better than nothing, right? I’m actually…kind of new to it, so…”
She felt herself flushing in embarrassment. “And I guess I talk too much, I’m sorry.”
