Sinope was exhausted. He slumped on the bench in the park, deciding to rest for a few minutes. The teen had spent the day running around his house trying to find his pet tarantula who had gotten loose sometime during the course of the previous night.
He'd meant to take her out only for a little while, but he'd fallen asleep because he'd been tired after coming home from patrol as a senshi. He had woken the next morning with the realization he'd forgotten to put her back in her tank. Who would have thought it would have been so difficult tracking down such a large spider in his own house?
A rustle and sudden motion out the corner of his eye and he sat up abruptly, scanning the surrounding area for energy signatures. Was there someone here? An Order signature was close by and moving fast. But why? Were they running from someone? To someone? Was it a chase?
The redhead knew he should have minded his own business, but his curiosity got the better of him and he just had to find out. Hopping off the bench, he hurried in the direction of the other signature. "Hello? What're you doing?" Sinope called into the dark. If they were of the Order faction, even if he was Chaos, chances were they wouldn't be out to kill him right off the bat...right?White Trickster Rabbit ((Hope this is okay! Between varying schedules of work shifts, keeping up with her Aikido practices, and life in general, it had been a bit since Lacrimosa had found the time to jog while powered up. Jogging usually came with free moments, and some patrols didn't seem to be jogging worthy so she took it when it came up. Like tonight! Though she was surprised to feel a power signature heading her way and found herself wary when she realized it didn't feel like an Order senshi. She remained as such when she heard a voice greeting and questioning, forcing her to come to a stop, but she only gave a smile instead of letting it show. "I'm just jogging around before I head out to patrol. I didn't distrub you, did I?"

"Oh," he panted, doubling over and bracing himself with his hands on his knees as he caught up with the energy signature. As it turned out, it belonged to a young lady - a White Moon Senshi, she looked like - out jogging. It had been a mistake to try to chase after her, especially tired as he was. It was a few seconds before he had enough air to speak again. "Well...I got worried for a second there. Thought you were being chased...or chasing someone."
Frowning, he eventually straightened back up and asked, "Why would you jog before you patrol? Can't you just jog during patrol?" Pushing back his hood to scratch his head, he continued, "Does jogging while you're powered up even help strengthen your real muscles at all, since your physical abilities are already boosted?"

"Forgive me for worrying you, that was not my intention." A calming smile as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. There was a small bit of worry for him, however, as he seemed to be struggling to regain air and perhaps energy. Was he tired? It was then that she noticed fully that he as definitely not an Order Senshi, perhaps the same as Chione? The coloration and flowy sort of sheer fabric seemed to agree and she found herself wondering how the young woman was doing. The thought had her relaxing around him a little, especially since he didn't seem too keen on outright attacking. And then she laughed, just slightly, amused a bit by his question and confusion. "All valid points, yes, but honestly I do it for fun?" Though, to be fair, she did also tend to jog during patrol too. "It's not really for anything other then I enjoy jogging and it feels so much better when powered up. Mostly because everything is already boosted. Though I do imagine it does help a bit?" She couldn't say for certain, in all honesty. "I do also like to jog outside of being powered up, so even if it doesn't do anything for me while powered I get the benefits powered down."

“It’s not that I’m out of shape or anything,” he was quick to assure her, embarrassed that he was breathing so hard. “I just spent most of the day doing a lot of exercise before this, so I’m a little worn out.”
With a lop-sided grin, the red-headed teen nodded in agreement at her explanation. "Oh, yeah; I can get that. It feels better being active when powered up because you can use enhanced abilities and do things that no other human can do. That’s cool! Not enough sensei just do stuff for fun, I don’t think. Most of 'em seem to feel like they have to have some purpose to power up for some reason." He shrugged. "Sense of duty, I guess. Glad I'm not weighed down by something like that. As if this double life stuff isn't stressful enough as it is."
Come to think of it, other than his enjoyment of being powered and learning about the conflicts that the other factions participated in, Sinope realized he didn't really have a purpose for being a part of his court. He collected energy from time to time, sure, but he didn't really believe they had much of a role in the overall war. However, he was perfectly content with being a bystander and watching safely from the sidelines.
"Say, out of curiosity, do you really buy into the war stuff? I mean, do you really think it's worth risking your life for your court and all that?" He planted his hands on his hips. "'Cause, no offense, but the way I say it, it looks like Order is losing."

"That's fair. Running on top of exercise can help to wear a person down." A small smile that might have hinted towards laughter. "But I suppose that means you'll sleep well tonight." While running was something she did to keep in shape, a big carry-over from her time in college, she didn't know if she did it just for fun. Running in powered form made it more fun because of the added bonuses that was true, but running seemed more of a habit some days. She didn't really work out otherwise. "Well, I mean... I do also use my runs as a patrol of sorts? Like I may not start out on patrol when I do my runs but I do end up on patrol afterwords most days." She there was a purpose or reason behind her powering up for her runs. Was there something wrong with needing a reason to power up? A thoughtful frown until he was asking her a question. "I do believe there is a war going on yes. A fight for what is believed to be best for our planet, be it the power of Order or Chaos. A fight that boils down to good and evil I suppose, though which is which falls into a grey area not many want to look into." A tilt of her head followed as she continued to think, then a small laugh in regards to his last statement. It was soft and short, almost humorless. "Make no mistake, Order is losing the fight. Because unlike the way it seems the different forces of Chaos can work together we all seem to be in a difference of opinion." How strange it was to her that so many of the opposing forces could see it but the side she fought on so often refused to admit it. Didn't they realize that they could probably win if they all worked together? "But there's not much to be done about it. I'll just fight to end the suffering, to find a balance in this world and hope I can see it to fruition."

"That's for sure," he agreed. But this time, he'd make sure not to leave his tarantula out of her tank before he slept.
"Oh. Multi-purpose, then. That's practical of you," Sinope reasoned, looking impressed. "If you're gonna run, might as well use it for something instead of just going nowhere on a treadmill."
He listened thoughtfully as she explained her beliefs, the corner of his mouth twitching in a semi-smirk at the terms 'good' and 'evil'. She was definitely right about not many people wanting to look into that grey area. His favorite line from a song came back to him again.
There are precious few at ease with moral ambiguities...so we act as though they don't exist!
But that grey area of moral ambiguity was exactly where his court fell into, he felt. And it was the fact that no one wanted to look into them and thus denied their existence that allowed him to live so freely as a senshi. He doubted Negaverse agents nor the White Moon Court felt inclined to pay him or him own court much notice. So what did he care about the war?
To him, it was a spectacle; a form of entertainment to sit back and watch. The intricacies of it still intrigued him, though, especially when given from the mouth of one of the participants.
"That's too bad," he said, considering her diagnosis of the problem. "At least you seem to know where you're having trouble, though. That's a good start to fixing things, right?" He grinned. It hadn't seemed to occur to him that just because this senshi had an idea of what a weakness might be that the rest of her court knew, acknowledged, or agreed with it.
"But I have to disagree with you about one small thing. My court is one of those different forces of Chaos you were talking about..." He lowered his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "...but we don't really work together with the Negaverse."
Sinope blinked. "Wait, so you're...you know what the problem is, you don't think anything can be done about it, and you're still fighting for balance while the scales are tipped so badly out of your favor?"
Up until this point, the Senshi of Slyness had thought the stranger a very logical and reasonable young woman. Her final declaration, however, undermined that image of her he had started to piece together in his head.
