Nyte had woken up gently to the sounds of the forest around her. The small yunin yawned as she stretched out then walked out from under the fallen tree she had taken refuge in from that nasty storm. Granted the tree nearly fell on her, but she thanked the rock that the tree was jammed on which allowed her to wait out the storm. Shaking herself free of any water the small female carried on with her walk to find some fruit for breakfast.

He was new; new as in freshly dead and freshly cursed into being a Yokai. Like a child, and dressed in a very short Yukata. Hanging behind him, around his neck, he wore a cat mask. Easily obtainable to change in to. He wandered about, lost really and stuck in the place where he had died as if he were bound to this ground, forever circling it. This time, while he tried to catch fish in the river until he lifted himself up just above it. Flicking his tails as he looked about. Something was here.
Slowly he began to hover to the land and jump upon it. His tiny feet could barely balance the wooden shoes he wore.
He followed the scent, then he lost it only a few yards in. His tails lowered as he looked about. “Maybe I can find it from the trees.” So he went, on a mission to climb the tree- with much struggle he finally got there and looked around with his hand covering his eyes for more precision scope.
“Where are you… it smells.” Huffing.

The small female jumped up on a rock, scrambling in the last few moments before pulling herself up fully. She sat there looking around. “Wow...this is a big forest...how did I get here again?”
She tilted her head in thought. While doing so the small female felt herself slip back...why was she---OH CRAP!!! The female tumbled back and splashed into a river below her. Sputtering up she shook out her fur. Ears flapping to make sure there was no water in them. She whined…

“Oh… must have been the wind spirit. Their so noisy.”
He swore he smelt something though, as he made his way back to the river to catch some fish but oh and behold the sight. No wonder it stunk. Quickly he covered his face and Walked up close to edge of the land and lowered himself.
“Excuse me. You stink. This is my river.” He pointed childishly.
“You dirtied it.”

She looked up at the yokai eyes wide. “I-I’m sorry?” she looked down to the water then back up at him. For a few moments she was dumbfounded. Then she leaped out of the water. “I’m sorry!!!” She stumbled back and fell flat on her rear end. “I--I didn’t mean to...I lost my footing up there.” She pointed to the rock. Then she looked back down to the water. She knew magic...would that help here?

“You. Dirtied. My. River.”
Jumping down from the ground ( still floating ) as he took her face within his hand shoved her into the water. His bristle white hair flying behind waving behind him, as he kept her down. It was his spirit energy flowing from him that caused a warp into the river. There was a moment he bashed his face/mask under water so the only thing she saw with the mask, all the way til he felt her about to choke, then he rose her up out of the water.
“You’ll dirty it more if you die here.” He tilted his head. “Just don’t go in without MY say so. AGAIN.” Bringing her out of the water and dropping her down on the land. Flicking his split tail behind him.
“Where did you come from.” Statement, rather than an easy question.

Nyte hit the ground with a near scream. The small female coughing up water as she looked up at the male. There was more than just water on her face as she scrambled up. “Why should I answer someone willing to kill me for something I had no control of?!?”
She rubbed at her throat. Memories flashing as she kicked up a branch laying by her foot. Throwing it at the yokai male she turned and ran. Not looking back as she weaved through the low branches. Swinging up into the hollow of a tree she curled up. Shaking. Crying.

When he was hit by a branch he rubbed his face, it didn’t bother him either way, but for someone who stunk, he would make sure she was out of his forest. When she ran, he turned and ran after her. While he was slightly slower for running on air, he growled loudly then disappeared. There was a silence for just a few seconds before he turned into a cat. Landing on the ground finally- with four legs, he’d get to her faster.
When found- she was crying. Shaking. He looked at her, tilted his head. Why was she crying. It was a warning. She should be THANKING him. His tail flicked as he put his tail near the bushes and those began to spark on fire- a blue flame- that began to surround her. He went on his hind legs and began to meow and tried to blow the fire out, he hadn’t meant to do that!

She heard the mewls and peeking out she let out a yelp. What?!? Why?! The female sank back into the tree. Hiding and just wishing it would rain again. She had no idea what to do but she felt something slid into place within her. She sniffled.

He turned to her. She was the cause of this! His flames became so out of control that he turned to her and ran up to her with a fierceness and attached himself to her face.
“STOP!”

Nyte pulled the cat off staring at it while it yelled. Her eyes were large. What in the world?!? She tilted her head. “I’m sorry?” she looked down at the flames.

Burns began to touch her as he grabbed her face to face him. Turning in to a human neko again. “Stop making them burn! What are you doing!?”
His eyes focused upon hers as he realized. She was a human… with sensitivity. At this rate, she would end up killing the forest.
“The fire does not burn-” He explained. “The fire does not burn!” Yelling at her as the tree branches began to fall around them from the fire.
“MAKE IT STOP!”
Then a tall slender man fell from the sky. Landed with such a force that it blew the fires away.. The burns on the trees and bushes causes them to now be barren of leaves some sparks of the fire came back.
“She has fear in her heart… Rara. Stop her.” “Kill her?” “No explain. Keeper her from beginning the forest down.”
Tsurara moved his mask up to reveal his striking bi colored eyes. He was only a child, as he grabbed her hands.
“They won’t hurt you if you don’t let them.” His voice was child like, even more so than within the mask.
“I can’t control them- you can.. If your scared. They will burn my forest… and if they do-” The man spoke up.
“Stop scaring her! Cease this.”
“I know they hurt now.. But only you can make it stop.. “
The man crossed his arms and looked around as more sparks began to flame again. He was worried he would have to use his own energy to stop them, or kill her. He didn’t mind, although there was laws here that he didn’t want to break. Not yet anyways.

Nyte blinked shaking still but taking a deep breath. She was calming. Her own healing magic flickering along her skin, healing the minor inflictions. As she felt her own magic flicker the small female calmed greatly. Soon she was breathing normally, bright eyes opening as she breathed out to look at him. She looked down to their hands. “See...if you had been like this before trying to drown me...I wouldn’t of been so scared.” She slipped away from him and jumped out of the tree. “I suppose my luck was that your hands are a lot smaller than the last person who tried that.”
She mused out loud as she rubbed her neck. She looked up and then up at the elder yokai who was now there. “Wow...you're big. Ah! Manners. I’m sorry!” she bowed quickly. “Good day, sir….I’m Nyte, healer in training of the Wyalk Clan. They live...uhm…” she looked around. “Not here. I uh….I’m...” she looked down toeing a rock. “I’m running away.”

The man looked, and saw that the flames had ceased. He sighed and plucked the demon cat from in the spot she last saw him. He turned in to a cat instantly, well. Kitten. Flicking his tails behind him.
“A healer… I haven’t heard of one of those in quite some time. That clan.” He paused.. Shaking his head. “They will come for you, and burn down the forest faster than you can. “ He lifted up the cat.
“Or- we kill you.” They, the spirits were easy with that kind of thing. They stayed many years beyond humans and they were used to it.
“They are rare. I’d hate to kill off such a gem.” Looking down the at the kiddo in his arms. “If I had left you, you would have killed many spirits. Your kind has been killing us for so long, yet you are those tainted in the blood of mercy.” Shaking his head. “Those that are the favored.” Sighing. “Get use to bowing… and come with me.” Walking her to the bridge. “Beyond this. You will be noticed by those of our world… and because you were already touched by this runt. You will have our smell for a short time so keep close and we’ll see what “Okaasan says.”
The cat looked at her and kept his eyes on her… Was she so special? Just because he touched her now? Why was she getting all the attention, she stunk still. Huffing and sticking out his tongue at her.
As soon as the walked beyond the bridge, he walked with assurance, hopefully they wouldn’t smell her- and hopefully no one would eat her or notice her til they got to their mother… passed them, were a plethora of spirits. Some asian. Some from the western regions. Others looked horrific while others looked blessed by the gods themselves. They were all the same, no matter how heavenly they looked.
