Welcome to the Wandering Nexus! I know. Bit of an odd name for a bar right? Why name anything wandering? Well, that's because this place actually moves. Yeah, the bar transports all along the globe in the blink of an eye. Question it all you like, it just works.
So what's the importance if such a thing? Well take into consideration the amazing food, drink, lodging and personal service from the bars most illustrious owner, Xara. She always aims to please and never lets a customer leave unsatisfied. The mysterious and rather short elf can be found scooted up on the counter just waiting for new arrivals. If you want a drink or food, she somehow has it or a recommendation for something in par with it. You might ask, how does such a thing happen? Don't. Seriously just don't. She's likely a demigod or something with the setup she has.
The rules for such a place? Don't cause trouble, start fights or cross the owner. The building will litteraly eject you from the premise. She's the grand master once inside so behave. And enjoy yourself!
This is an open walk in roleplay! If you are waiting on a post in another forum and want to just play a character, Swing inside! I mean it I encourage you to just walk right in and take a seat. I will do my best to supply a means of conversation and story if you are! So please, step in, hang your coat up and talk with some others as well!

! RULES ¡ Rules? Really? Yes. This place has rules.
1. Be nice. I don't and shouldn't have to say this one.
2. Keep it within ToS. I know I can get a bit out of hands myself at times but hey. Let's be civil.
3. Have fun!
4. Down here. I make the rules. Down here I make the threats. Down here. I'm god. Also, I'll add some if I have to!
5. If you want to fight i just ask it be done outside the bar. Bar fights can happen but the bar WILL FIGHT BACK!
6. I will try to interact with all who enter and persist. If someone doesn't post within a certain set amount of time, that now being 6 hours, I will move Xara onto the next person if needed. So don't feel bad if you gotta go or delay a post. This is a walk in fun time place so please enjoy!

tab tab tab "What so you mean we're out of Frozen Whisper? I told you to absorb the local mysticism before we left!" a voice, while shouting angrily, had a gentle and almost honey like sound to it. As if her very tone flowed through the building. "Oooohhh! Gah! This is just..it...it's fine. We were in a hurry and did serve a large guild that stopped by after their questing. I'm sorry I shouted. " a woman spoke, her hand slowly sliding up and down the bartop she was stationed behind. The flames dangling from the exotic chandelier above her surging with a sudden flash of energy before dimming down slowly as her hand came to a stop.
"Innocent Walker? Been a long time since we've fashioned that. I like it. " she stated with a playful slap of her hand to the bartop before slipping from behind it and slowly arranging the room. A very luxurious setting, plush corner rooms for relaxed times, finely crafted chairs pushed up to the bartop and pristine tables. All lit with a soothing glow from fire from chandelier overhead, candles along the tables and torches lining the walls. After a little more tidy work here and there, she signed happily and stretched herself out, a gentle squeeze noise sounding with a few pops and fabric stretches sounding before she scurried down a hallway, adjusting paintings and oddly realistic drawings before arriving to the front entry.
The hallway behind her, stairs leading upward to rooms and another set leading downward. With a deep inhale she opened the front door, flipping a sign that flashed brightly to display 'OPEN' on the front door. It oddly read in an array of languages that would be noticed and read from any that looked onto it. With that she quickly scurried back to the bar, her short stature making it a tad comical before skidding behind the bar and hopping up to place her bum atop it, legs hanging and her head tilting over her shoulder to look at the hallway to the bar. '...soon...customers will come soon... ' she thought with a small smile over her face. She was always excited to meet new people in new lands once she moved.

tab tab tab The bar seemed to almost hum to a new life and understanding as a footfall echoed into the hallway. Xara felt herself jump with excitement as she turned her head towards the entryway, baited breath held as the sound of boots rang out. Her feet quickly swung behind the bar a few times before she pushed herself off the bar, brushing her attire off a little and straightening her jacket uniform. As the man made his way into the main bar she cleared her throat gently and extended her arms outward.
"Welcome! Welcome, welcome, welcome indeed to my humble bar!" she proclaimed with a cheery voice that once again seemed to flow from her lips like honey. She puffed herself up a tad, her short stature giving her a rather underwhelming appearance as a supposed owner. "Its a pleasure to have you in today. If you would care to have a seat I have all manner of things to partake in that might meet your fancy!" she stated with a snap of her fingers, her hand swiping under the bar for only a moment in a flash of speed as a glass flew into the air above her in an arching motion, her other hand swiftly snatching many assortment of liquor bottles to set them out before the man, her free hand catching the flying glass as it came down beside her to slide it out before him.
With a small bow, a gentle glow of light illuminated her from behind as she swept her right hand under her bust, her left stretching out to her side as her head bowed respectfully. "I am your host, Xara. We serve all manner of exotic drinks, foods and entertainment to your liking. A pleasure. " she finished before standing up straight, her body leaning slightly on the bar as she smiled happily to the golden masked man. "And yes, this is technically what mortals indeed call a bar. But it is a bit special from most. " she said with a wink, her pointed ears visible as her hair parted around them slightly.
"May I ask your name or what you would like? We have a new drink with a concentration of the local mysticism, Innocent Walker. A favorite for ages the Tarragon Paradise. Or something that's a bit more bite than flavor, Chilled Wink. " she said as her finger slowly hovered across each bottle that lay atop the bar, every single one giving off a faint trace of magic that swirled in the bottle, coupled with exotic looking colors and almost storm like mixes of liquids inside.

Hyde OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mei Lin had her purple parasoul sailing happily above her when she felt a disturbance. Blinking slowly and turning, the girl looked back to see a very nice old fashioned building where one had not been before. From the outside it looked quite cozy, and soon the smell of food drifted to her nostrils. It was the nail in the coffin for poor Mei, and soon she was walking silently towards the door of such a place.
Her stomach growled as she got to the door, it opened already as if awaiting customers, and the vampire saw that there was another already there. He bore a mask and from the smell of him he was a mage of some kind. Crinkling her nose, still unseen by him, she looked out at the style of the area and a brief smile touched her lips. It had been awhile since she had been in such a styled place, and she instantly felt at home. It was old, very old, and if there was anything Mei loved it was old things. Sometimes the girl felt at odds with this new world, but alas.
Standing idle at the door, simply watching the interaction at the bar, Mei perked slightly and asked, "Is there food?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

tab tab tab The scent of food indeed pushed it's way from the very doors of the establishment, drawing in any onlooker lucky enough to catch a whiff. As soon as Mei Lin entered the back room lit with an almost forge like blaze, the eyes of Xara bolting over to spot it as a grin began to play along her face. 'Oh? Another patron enters?' she mused as her hands swiftly moved to grasp two more glasses, filling each with the bizzare liquors before the golden masked man.
And a sliding like motion she shifted down the bar to get a better look at the new entry, her welcoming and pleasant smile displaying full force. "Ah! Welcome! Your nose does not lie, we do in fact have food on hand and plucked from the local wildlife as well as some exotics!" she claimed as she dashed behind the bar, hand reaching out to an odd slot on the edge of the bar right as a menu seemed to dispense itself for her to grab. With a few steps she was before Mei, bowing with her left hand at the small of her back and her right extending the menu. "We have all manner of dishes at your request! However I do recommend two personal favorites along with one new dish we just started to serve." she claimed as she motioned to the menu.
"A favorite of the previously visited location was particularly fond of our Pan-fried lime and garlic venison. Quite delicious. Next is a returning favorite, the Fire roasted griffin with mixed vegetables. And lastly our new dish, simmered light ale shrimp with pasta topped with a special sauce. " she claimed with a small bow and smile before taking a step back from the woman. "Please, have a seat! And if you need anything I am your server, Xara. " she said as she bowed once more, returning to her full stature which was rather short for an elf. But she had a full smile and gleeful attitude that also melded well with her smooth like voice. She was welcoming and ready to assist.

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Exuberant Death 】 Who: An elf and a mage || Where: Somewhere strange || Thoughts: Food... || Ambience: Mz. Hyde OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mei's parasoul glided as she spun it between her fingers slowly, not giving any mind to close it now that she was inside the establishment. Her cornflower blue orbs were darting this way and that, feeling a strange magic at work around her, but she couldn't put her finger on it. Was it time or space? Such questions were left unanswered for now as the would-be owner of the bar stepped up to her. She was small for an elf, though it wasn't like Mei could truly talk with her own height, and she looked delicious.
The vampire cocked her head at the possible entrees and in response she said, "I want everything." It was quick, easy, and with a quick childish grin before looking over to the bar. It had strange contraptions littered there, and it was interesting how it could dispense menus in such a way. Mei was not the type of person to care about new technologies unless it could help her in some manner, and thus didn't feel the need to tear apart the bar. What she did find interest with, however, was the elf.
Turning her gaze back, she fully observed the woman. She was short, and looked young for her age, but the decor and the smell of the place around them was in contradictory nature. If magic could make a human from a plum, Mei thought this woman would be the offspring of such treatment. Xara was childish like Mei, but just as the vampire there was something there too. It didn't matter, really, as there was no need to start a fight with the woman, though drinking her blood seemed like a nice proposition she would have to ask about later.
Instead, now, she moved to the bar, away from the woman and sat far away from the masked man. The liquid in front of him was interesting still and Mei held up her index finger to point at it. "Can I have one too?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

tab tab tab The gentle spin of the parasol behind the woman caught Xara's attention, glancing at it for a split second before she tilted her head to the side just a hair as she was being examined. Looked over and observed was her very job as a server and owner to boot so such an act was hardly worth fretting over. When the woman mentioned everything Xara seemed to almost beam with excitement as she clasped her hands before snatching the menu to make her way back to the bar, slipping it once more through the slot before pushing the back rooms double doors to lean in.
"One of each! And don't skimp out on the sauce!" she shouted as some banging and clanging of dishware echoed forth, a giggle slipping before she let the doors swing shut. She spun around and clasped her hands once more, spotting the woman taking a seat away from the man. Privacy in such places was not hard to have but if more guests arrived it would need some special booths reserved. When she pointed to the liquor Xara grinned and swept her hand once more below the counter, a glass dancing in the air a few times before falling perfectly into Xara's hand behind her back, a bottle of Innocent Walker as the label read pressed between her cheek and shoulder to drizzle behind her back and into the glass.
A flick of her wrist sent the glass down the bartop, skidding to a halt just before Mei with the liquid sloshing about a moment before coming to a soothing stop. The very composition of it seemed almost a mixture of liquid and solid at a certain layer, giving off the illusion of a light syrup between two types of liquor. Xara let the bottle drop to her palm to slide it behind the bar, her steps taking her towards Mei but not directly before her. "New concoction we've tried to fashion. Making a bit of a limited time run to see if it's worth the trouble. Food shouldn't be too long either. May I ask your name or reason to visit?" she posed as her elbow lightly pressed to the bar to prop her chin up, the other hand grasping a glass below the bar to slowly set atop the bar.

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Exuberant Death 】 Who: An elf and a mage || Where: Somewhere strange || Thoughts: Drinking with Saho makes this child's play. || Ambience: Mz. Hyde OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The vampire's head did not turn, but instead her eyes followed the elf as she shimmied her way behind the bar again and opened a door leading to the kitchen. A smile appeared on her lips when the woman called for loads of sauce, and she practically hopped up and down on her seat at the bar. The heavily polyurethane-coated wood of the bar was shining, and she faced Xara from the bar stool and over the expanse of wood.
Her fingers drummed on the bar, her eyes still roaming over the decor behind the elf, before her attention was turned to the amusing way the woman poured her drink. Giggling softly before clapping, Mei made a whooping sound with her voice as she was given the drink. With inhuman speed she grabbed the drink, downing it in a moment, before placing the empty glass back down again. The vampire's orbs followed as Xara bent casually onto the bar. For a moment she wondered if she would have to kill the woman, her hand disappearing before reappearing with a glass clasped in her palm, and the girl softened.
Shrugging Mei answered, "Can I have another? My name?" The girl seemed to brighten, much as a child. "My name is Mei Lin! Your place just appeared and I was interested. Not like a wandering bar pops up often, ya know? Hey, how old are you?" The question was sudden, strangely out of place but not to that of a child if they were asking a stranger. She waited for the response, or perhaps her food, before gently bouncing upon her bar stool. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Exuberant Death 】 Who: Xara and a mage || Where: Somewhere strange || Thoughts: This is really good.... really really good || Ambience: Mz. Hyde OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "How can there be a return service when your bar can teleport anywhere?" Mei asked genuinely curious. In all of her travels she had heard of such mysterious events happening, but was never interested in them. However when they did happen, there were very few who knew when or where it would happen, even mages, and as such it sparked her question. She wondered how an elf had such powerful magic, but she refrained from also asking.
Quickly picking up the second shot, admiring that it had milk in it, Mei also downed it. It wasn't bitter, and even with her dulled tastebuds she could taste sweetness. It was probably from the milk, and she enjoyed it. It was rather easy for a vampire to get over alcohol in any capacity, and if she didn't drink fast enough she wouldn't get inebriated like she wanted. When the body healed as fast as hers did, it was a sad part of life. Rapping her knuckles onto the wood to ask for another, Mei listened intently to the woman. Pandora, huh? Yeah, that makes sense, Mei mused.
Her cornflower orbs went straight to the door as it opened and her mouth started watering almost immediately. Food! All sorts of food at that came rushing out of the kitchen, all being presented accordingly. Without a moment, Mei had picked up her fork and began diving into the numerous plates with an appetite that was not normally matched. Everything indeed was doused in sauce, mostly on the side, and Mei filled up so much that her cheeks were swelled up with food in them.
When she was asked a question, still eating and swallowing fast, she tilted her head. Should she actually say? It was easy for her to hide the fact she was a vampire from others, especially in her more humanistic form, and while this barkeep was nicer than most she didn't truly wish to kill her at this point. Of course she would only do so if she had anything to say about her home, but alas.
"You would know it as Thentis today," she responded with muffled words, a piece of poultry in one cheek as she chewed. Devouring every dish but one, which she was currently working on, she continued, "Can I have some more? You have a spell to keep you from running out, right?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile

nnnnnn⊰. . .M ei ❇ Lin. . .⊱nnnnnn 【 The Exuberant Death 】 Who: Xara and a mage || Where: Somewhere strange || Thoughts: This is really good.... really really good || Ambience: Mz. Hyde OOC: || --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most likely you have to find them, Mei thought to herself as she ate. But it was no matter to her, who was she to care about such things. It was rather interesting, she did have to admit, and for a moment her mind drifted to her mother and if she would have liked a place like this. Or perhaps she had been here before, she mused as she ate her last plate of food. Almost immediately she picked up the plates in succession, licking them clean before placing them back down. She was not as rude to burp, but she did make a satisfied sound instead.
The faux child looked over to the pretty elf and shrugged her shoulders. "It's not going to affect me unless I drink fast. I can feel the buzz now though," she admitted, her tiny disposition helping along the fact she could regenerate at an alarming rate. She giggled before saying, "Mayhap you get them here now then, for if you keep letting me drink that it'll be gone before I leave. I'm a- I regenerate faster than normal beings." The halt in her words was not intentional, and the girl had to think twice before openly stating she was a vampire. Even if she said she hailed from Thentis, some would automatically assume of her race, but she could have also been one of the lucky slaves that had broken out of the ambrosia treatments.
A system, Mei mused as she placed all the plates in a neat pile to be picked up, which they were in a swift motion. The vampire perked suddenly, clapping her hands down onto the bar. "Thank you, miss! I love the sauce greatly. It's so savory..." She paused, thinking of how much she loved the food here, before she smiled wide. "Quite appealing, I'd say! It reminds me of home to a certain degree." She quieted again as the elf spoke, the girl cocking her head and smiling deviously. Was the elf offering herself to her? "I have nothing better to do, I have been gone from this place for a very long time. I would be delighted to see what else this place, and you, have in store. Thank you for your hospitality."
It did not scare the vampire depending on what was so special at night time that happened in this place, she knew that there was not much that could take down a Fallen such as her, and because of her long captivity everything was more appealing than ever. She hoped there would be blood involved, but before that she supposed she would have to tell the woman that she was in fact a vampire. The notion didn't seem to excite the girl, but she waited patiently for more food and another drink to be passed her way. If her tongue was loosened just a bit more, perhaps she would let a few secrets fly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Profile
